How to remove stock blue wave screen ?

Hello people, Merry Christmas
This is my first post here...been here from past 4 weeks or so...
i recently got my dads used up x10 mini...done a few thing so far.
Thing is i am about to make a new rom not entirely new...few bits from here and there. Few days ago i found an thread where a guy asked if he can replace the stock blue waves background , i didnt bookmark that page and i searched all of XPERIA X10 Mini Android Development sub forum did'nt find it here
so people how do i replace that image.
I read a little bit i have to replace that stock image with ours which was located somewhere.........
AND people my another question what is a kernel ?
what i understood is it is a piece of software which directly interacts with hardware just like drivers in our pcs
My Works so far
1] GingerDX |v017| Gingerbread 2.3.7 - found that it cam is not as good compared to what was with stock ROM, power consumption was high, and i personally didnt like some components of interface.
2] Next was MiniCM7-2.1.6 Gingerbread 2.3.7/CM7.2 - same as previous camera was crappy, power consumption was a little less compared to first case and interface was good liked that over scrolling effect and loads of other features [i just wished my x10 mini turned into x10] but the main PROBLEM was AWD launcher kept crashing every other time i pressed home key
3]then, installed nAa-06 kernel and again flashed Next was MiniCM7-2.1.6 Gingerbread 2.3.7/CM7.2
in between my phone got struck 2-3 times at SE screen. First time i really was really scared it was my dads phone and he would have kicked me out of the house if he found that i ruined his phone.
4] then tried a simple 2.1 rom was very basic.
Atlast reverted back to stock rom now in the process of creating my own rom.Wish me Luck !
Thanks for the information! It's always great to see people add to the choice and quality of our phone. I hope people show their appreciation for your work!
When you need testers etc. just let us know, I'm available.
For the ROMS, some things I like about the stock ROM are; how smooth and clean the UI is, no ROM yet does this as well in my view, everything on the stock ROM works perfectly especially the camera which is amazing (while simple). I admit that the newer features in Android (and Cyanogen) are too good to leave behind though, as well as the better memory management in 2.3 etc.
Good luck!
thanks buddy...still didn't find answers to my ques
1] How to replace the stock blue waves background in the 2.1.1.c.0.0 stock rom ?
2] What is a kernel ?
i think u should edit framework-res.apk /system/framework/

Color banding issues

Why does my SGSII show banding on colors with ICS?
Examples: Facebook login, when I first set up the phone, ICS dialer background etc.
I never tried GB as I bought it a month ago.
It does the same with AOKP CM9. The banding disappears when using Camera scenario, but that just gived the screen an ugly blue hue.
Is my phone faulty, or is it a common problem to the SGSII which the community has accepted?
It's a known problem, AFAIK. Stock GB kernels had the same problem, some custom kernels took care of the problem with various patches (if I remember correctly, Speedmod's excellent kernel had different display tweaks and there was no banding visible - there's a changelog here which lists them, but don't go flashing it right away - it's a GB only kernel).
Wait and see
So this is a issue on all SGSII on stock ROM?
Well, yeah. First result goes to this older thread about color banding
That's an old thread regarding stock GB rom...
Yeh.. As previously stated OLD ISSUE.
Jeeze

[Q] Omega v8 and franco#8

Sorry if the question is really dumb, but is there a way to use omega rom and franco kernel without getting the camera black strip on right side???
And also does the black strip affect pics taken with the camera at all? franco kernel is too good to give up and am willing to live with the camera bug if it doesnt affect anything:laugh: i took some pics and it doesnt seem to affect anything. this my first android and rooted phone so sorry for noob questions

Custom rom white/yellow torchlight

Hello,
Can anyone explain why the torchlight is yellow in every custom rom and in miui 8 is white? Is something to fix this and make the torchlight white in custom rom too?
Thank you!
Our phone has a dual LED, one is yellow and one is white. Both of the LED turns on simultaneously.
The fact that you see yellow light is based on your perspective. Try looking from the other side of the camera as the LEDs are placed horizontally...
Hope this helps...

Yeah, i`ve notticed that, but anyway in custom rom (nos at the moment) the light is more yellow than white vs. miui8.. I don`t know why but this is present in every custom rom I`ve tried..

I haven't seen something like this. You can try rolling back to MiUi and check if the same problem persists...
