[Q] Loss of radio when flashing new kernel - HTC One X+

I have a rooted HOX+ running android revolution HD 6.5. Whenever I flash a new kernel (using USB and hasoon's excellent toolkit) I always encounter the same problem. I always lose the radio completely (except for Bluetooth). I was wondering if this is something to do with the toolkit or perhaps flashing over USB. I was wondering if anybody else encounters this problem. I know it isn't a major concern our anything I would just like to flash custom kernels mainly because I want to use AOSP ROMs.
Thanks in advance,
Darthofbagend00

Make sure the kernel is ment fir the one x+ and not the one x and the radio is tricky bc its still s-on and in a mother partition we can't acess

[Q] AT&T one x+ flashing kernel

I had installed the Elegancia ATT ROM and had flashed the kernel using the kernel_flasher. My phone boots up and runs just fine but the battery still drains just as fast as stock. When i try to flash other kernels the version never changes it just stays at

Is this the right kernel for Elegancia?
From what I've read, the ATT HOX+ can't be flashed with a kernel yet because there is no S-OFF hack yet. Only international HOX+ has S-OFF.
international has NO s-off.
the way to flash is correct
ask the developer of the rom
The only kernels we (as AT&T users) have available are the ones for specific roms. I'm not sure of the actual "name" or version of the Elegancia kernel but the one that comes with it is the only one you are supposed to use.
I think.... Someone with more knowledge confirm please. I still haven't flashed anything just on stock rooted.
I think in the Elegancia OP it states that he used the stock kernel by the way.
Never Die!
guys whats the difference between att one x+ and international? why are there two recoveries?
i thought only original one X was different (snapdragon vs tegra...)

International one is 3G and AT&T is 4G. Most of the hardware is the same, but they have diffrent radio hardware, and thus some software and kernel diffrences. Recovery is built using the kernel so diffrent recoveries are required.

On this note, is there any way to disable the 4g network? On my s-off inspire I just went to *#*#4636#*#* -> Phone info -> GSM Only to knock off the WCDMA reception based on where I was, as network infrastructure was very primitive where I lived. On the HOX+ when you try this, it reverts back to LTE radio option immediately. Is it because there is no custom kernel, no alternate radio, or no S-OFF? I'm on Elegancia as well, but that should make a difference since it did this unrooted stock and rooted stock.
Thanks guys

If you have s-off, i assume your rooted? Have you tried any of the various toggle widgets to toggle 4G on/off?

We dont have kernel source yet and just one kernel out so all the kernels are going to show the same. Devs can make some tweaks to kernels without having source so it is recommended to use the kernel that comes with the rom. Rom OP normally tells you. Elegancia requests you install kernel first. Dont know if not installing will be catostrophic or not, most likely not.

Kernels CAN be flashed, must be flashed in fastboot. Will not flash with the rom like s-off devices, but can still be flashed.
Once we get kernel source things will get interesting around here.... Cant wait
So how long does it normally take for us to get the kernel source? Is it definite that we will even get one?

[Q] Custom Rom from o2 UK Stock since hboot update released....? ?

Hi All,
Apologies if the has been asked already but I was unable to find an answer to my question.
I have an O2 HTC One X Plus (CID 02__001) which WAS on Hboot 1.30 but is now on hboot 1.35 since the OTA update 1.17.206.1 came out in the UK not very long ago
I know there was an issue being able to use a custom ROM with the older hboot. Will I now be able to flash a custom ROM to my phone (I am eyeing up Android Revolution HD 6.2)??
Or is it too soon ?
You now have the latest hboot. So you can flash any international custom rom you want

Fantastic. l assume I don't need to do the firmware thing the instructions mention just the boot image and Rom itself?

Yeah just flash the boot.img then boot into recovery and flash the rom. If i was you i'd do a nandroid of your stock rom first though.

thanks for your help. Much appreciated! Things were so much easier on my HTC Desire S lol

[Q] Can someone explain firmware for me?

I am pretty much lost when it comes to the firmware of the htc one. First i'll explain what I think I have grasped and what I have done. I am running ARHD 11.0 (thinking about 11.5, but cant decide if i want to wait for the next w/o the LTE bug). Running CWM 6.0.3.2. Last night installed a new radio .zip (baseband?). NO S-OFF and hboot 1.44 (i think).
Now the firmware gets a little fuzzy for me. Im getting the vibe that it is not mandatory, but could potentially be beneficial. How do i check my firmware? Is it include with custom rom updates? Should I upgrade it? And do i need to upgrade hboot or be S-OFF to do any of this.
Thank you in advance and especially to all the great developers out there.
I'd say to start off go check out mike1986's post in the international section and read around and if you have more questions then come back here

Viper rom installed + stock kernel

Hey guys, just got my one x plus
Used the all in one tool kit for unlock boot loader and rooted, real easy
Simple install of viper rom international
Well pleased, anyway for my question....
Any advice on kernels? I seem to have found most kernels work only on sense 4.0 right? Also is the architecture/framework that different for the one x? Anyway to port over kernels?
Please don't shoot me for asking lol
Thanks in advance

Only kernel available at the moment for sense 5 roms is the stock kernel as HTC haven't released kernel sources as of yet
Porting kernels, i'm not sure but i don't see why it couldn't be done! No idea how as i'm not techy with that kind of thing

[Q] how do you s-off AT&t htc one x plus

First of all I would like to thank all the developers for all their hard work.
I have an issue. I had soft bricked my Telus HTC One X+ a while ago. I have got it up and going again on wifi. But when I put a sim into it does not have any signal. I have checked to make sure the APN is correct. have tried all the APN's for telus and still no luck. So all I can come up with is there is no radio on it. So my question is is there a way to s-off the phone or another way to flash the radio onto it. I have tried an ruu.exe. But I can not find the newest update (which is the 3.15.xxxx) that is a exe to flash the phone. And since I do not have s-off I can not flash the zip it just keeps failing. I thought that way I would have a radio again on the phone. my H-BOOT is 1.40.0000 radio 2.14.55.11. Any help would be appreaciated. i am using stock rom . It it sense 4+
You don't
If you can find the RUU it will "fix" the kernel mismatch issue (no radio)
