Hey guys, just got my one x plus
Used the all in one tool kit for unlock boot loader and rooted, real easy
Simple install of viper rom international
Well pleased, anyway for my question....
Any advice on kernels? I seem to have found most kernels work only on sense 4.0 right? Also is the architecture/framework that different for the one x? Anyway to port over kernels?
Please don't shoot me for asking lol
Thanks in advance

Only kernel available at the moment for sense 5 roms is the stock kernel as HTC haven't released kernel sources as of yet
Porting kernels, i'm not sure but i don't see why it couldn't be done! No idea how as i'm not techy with that kind of thing

I'm very new to these forums, so if I've done something wrong in this post please let me know nicely.
My question is in regards to Mwakious' Evo 3d GSM roms and whether or not i can safely flash custom kernals, specifically Kernal Anthrax. I wanted to know whether it would work or if it would brick the hell outta my phone.
All answers are appreciated.
Thank you in advance.
Hi. It won't work. As of yet, none of custom kernels are compatible with ics except for one by mdeejay which would also break your 3d and a few more things. I recommend stick with the stock kernel until new kernels are made for ics.

Thank you so much for your reply. Ok ill wait some ice compatible kernasl, which means since I'm a branded Optus phone ill need to wait for their ota update to be released.
Thanks you.
Hi All,
Apologies if the has been asked already but I was unable to find an answer to my question.
I have an O2 HTC One X Plus (CID 02__001) which WAS on Hboot 1.30 but is now on hboot 1.35 since the OTA update 1.17.206.1 came out in the UK not very long ago
I know there was an issue being able to use a custom ROM with the older hboot. Will I now be able to flash a custom ROM to my phone (I am eyeing up Android Revolution HD 6.2)??
Or is it too soon ?
You now have the latest hboot. So you can flash any international custom rom you want

Fantastic. l assume I don't need to do the firmware thing the instructions mention just the boot image and Rom itself?

Re: [ROM][CM10][AOKP][PA][01.12.13] PAC-Man v19.2.0 - Official [JB][AOSP 4.1.2]
Hey Im new to all this unlocking and ROMS installing.
I just recently (finally) unlocked and rooted my Rezound
And was looking to install the most recent or best release of Cyanogenmod. Im pretty tech savvy although not with all this programming but Ive gotten this far and want to hook up my Rezound with a cool firmware. Does anyone know a link with instructions on how to do this?
Im running a root and unlock from the Unlockr on YouTube at the moment im not sure exactly if that matters but anyways I appreciate the help!

Most of the rom threads include directions. Did you s-off your phone? Did you also install a custom recovery like TWRP, Clockworkmod or Amon-Ra?
Take a look at the first post here if you want straight CM10.

If you don' t know for sure..I am sure your still s-on. For S -off it is a separate procedure and involves using a wire at a specific time .

If you want straight CM10, try the link I sent you and follow the s-on directions. Excuse the typo where it says flash CM9, he meant CM10. I would also suggest before you wipe /system, /data and /cache, make a back up of your existing rom in Amon-Ra.
The extra step you need to do when you're s-on is flash the kernel, the rom installer can't do it. GreyTheWolf includes the kernel in a downloadable file which you can place on the root of your sdcard and flash via the bootloader. The other option is to use your PC to flash boot.img using ADB and fastboot.
You can use Hansoon's all in one toolkit to assist in flashing a boot.img from your PC to your phone. - http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1504824

A wire as in a USB cable? I posted a link in my previous post on what procedure I used to unlock and root my phone.
Sent from my ADR6425LVW
Nope, not a usb cable, but a piece of insulated wire to connect one metal piece to another, under the battery cover.

Running CM10 on my HTC Rezound ^_^
So Ive been doing a bit more research on Jellybean roms & HTC Rezound. Seems like there arent very many due to AOSP and drivers working correctly with Sense.
I came across a Clockwork MOD recovery for JB that has AOSP, would that be a more ideal rom to use with the rezound?
Here is the thread I found:
Forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2004118
Opinions would be nice, thanks!

ASOP based roms are a work in progress but are stable enough to use as a daily driver. Lack of drivers and the lack of an official JB release for the Rezound are some of the issues stopping it from being 100% functional. Our devs have done a great job getting the various AOSP based roms here as functional as they are and I'm sure are still trying to work out the rest of the issues.
Sense has nothing to do with it, Sense is just an overlay that HTC adds to the official build to give you the look and widgets. AOSP roms have zero Sense parts in them.
Clockwork Mod is just a recovery much like Amon-Ra or TWRP, it's not a rom.
The rom you listed is not for this phone nor will it work on it.
If the current AOSP releases aren't meeting your needs, I can only suggest you stick to a Sense rom until that happens.
Yeah an official release of Jellybean for the rezound would be nice.
Thanks for breaking it down im sure other members like myself will find this helpful.
Im more recreational than anything so I dont mind beta testing for the Devs! Im sure getting feedback will help them get closer to a stable release

With all these roms that are being released for the rezound I can understand how difficult it must be when members are looking for the best JB rom for Android, it really is a choice of preference.
Im running CM10 at the moment.
Is this the most stable rom for JB at the moment? Also would fastbooting a better kernel help improve stability?

There are a couple kernel choices that expand the governors available and add other features, check out Funky Kernel 2.2 (Funky Bean 2.2 for JB) or Ermahgerd Kernel. Both use the Aroma installer which gives you the option of installing on s-on phones, it creates a PH98IMG.zip you can flash in your bootloader so you don't need to use fastboot with a PC. Just flash the kernel in recovery and follow the directions on the screen.
As for JB ASOP roms, I'm been running Pacman a few days now (the PMEM version) and have been happy with it.
I have a rooted HOX+ running android revolution HD 6.5. Whenever I flash a new kernel (using USB and hasoon's excellent toolkit) I always encounter the same problem. I always lose the radio completely (except for Bluetooth). I was wondering if this is something to do with the toolkit or perhaps flashing over USB. I was wondering if anybody else encounters this problem. I know it isn't a major concern our anything I would just like to flash custom kernels mainly because I want to use AOSP ROMs.
Thanks in advance,
Darthofbagend00
Make sure the kernel is ment fir the one x+ and not the one x and the radio is tricky bc its still s-on and in a mother partition we can't acess

I got my phone about a week ago. Should I wait for the 4.2.2 update so everything is compatible? Or is it the opposite of that? Should I root now before the update? I mean, AT&T will probably be a while before they finally push the update. Is there any harm in waiting until it comes out to unlock and root? Or should I just do it soon?
It doesn't matter, if you're gonna root anyway just do it now

You said it yourself, ATT is probably going to be awhile. There are great threads in here that explain everything from rooting to updating firmware. Personally, I'm to impatient to wait for updates and would rather have custom roms that are clean from bloatware anyways

Thanks guys! I was just wondering if I should wait til the 30 days for returns are up, but I guess that doesn't really make any sense. Do you have any recommendations as to which which ROM I should try out. I've heard Viper and ARHD are both good.
I use arhd personally
Sent from my HTC One using Tapatalk 4 Beta
I been using arhd for awhile now because I like the sense overlay. Very stable rom with great battery life. You can also try Google edition rom if you want a vanilla android experience. Here's a link to mike1986's threads, he is the developer and pushes out new versions very quickly

32 Gb black HTC One, unlocked, rooted, S-OFF, TWRP, ARHD 12.0
Root now and flash a 4.2.2 rom.
I prefer a near stock rom, so I flashed a stock rooted deodexed 2.24.401.1 rom.

Paired with ElementalX 2.4 kernel (or Bulletproof 3.4 if you want a enhanced stock kernel), you'll have a solid, stable rom.

It matters not at all, because if you flash a custom rom based on 4.2.2 which most if not all of them currently are... You will gain most of those updated features anyway

I too, like some of the others here have posted, am TOO impatient to wait for AT&T to push out updates. Everyone knows AT&T takes their sweet old time. I had my One a couple days on stock 4.1.2 and when I finally unlocked the bootloader, rooted, s-off and supercid I couldn't have been happier. I'm also running ARHD 12 and this ROM is rock solid and is SO much better than waiting. This is also the 1st HTC phone I've had that I rooted (have been a Samsung guy mostly in the past). The other AMAZING thing about the One is that internally it's identical to the international LTE One and it's very cool that all the ROMs in the main One section are compatible with all the variants (except Sprint of course). I say go for it! You won't be disappointed.
