I can't find this in any of the other posts. If someone knows where it is please let me know. Anyway my problem is that I rooted my ATT with 3way tool had no problems, then did the CWM part no problem. I then downloaded 3 different roms and put on my external SD card and then booted into recovery followed the directions listed for each rom but when I went to install got fail and then showed aborted . At this point I rebooted and had to re-root and install CWM each time. All three roms failed and aborted. Can someone explain to me what I'm doing wrong everything I'm doing is lokiyed I'm very frustrated at this point because I don't see anyone else with this problem. Please help I love to try different roms. Thanks in advance.:mad
You are in the Verizon forums. You might want to look into the AT&T section.

I have a SF running on DI01. It is rooted using Z4. I installed Rom Manager and then flashed latest Clockwork Mod Recovery. When I reboot the phone into recovery, and then select update.zip to get into Clockwork, I am met with the following:
E: failed to verify whole-life signature
E: signature verification failed
Installation aborted
When I originally got this phone this worked fine. The issues started AFTER I did a factory reset. I did the factory reset because I was unsatisfied how the phoen operated after doing a recovery with Titanium Backup and wanted to start fresh again.
I made sure to delete all traces of every file and folder prior, I even used a brand new formatted SD card and I am still getting this problem. I have been through 2 factory resets trying to get the recovery to work.
Anyone with any ideas would be much appreciated. Thanks in advance!

You cant flash clockwork recovery from the phone it has to be pushed in odin then you can flash it in rom manager
The thread is in the development section
Do a little searching around and you ll find all the info you need
Yet another reason not to use z4 root as you learn nothing about your phone
And really it aint hard to do things the" right" way
Actually it sounds like you did read.
My best guess is you went wrong when you installed the SD card and have the wrong update.zip on it, but it's just as likely you need to prime CWM again in odin. You'll be fine!
I do agree that the guides should give manual roots, not one clicks. The slow way is pretty quick:

I don't think rooting was your issue in this case though. I think you may have missed how clockwork installs and works. It is persisting but not permanent.
In brief, you pave the way with the cwm odin flash, then use rom manager to place a current version of CWM recovery on your SD card in the form of update.zip, then 'install' that every time you need to run CWM.

Soba - Once I repushed from Odin it came back. Scratching my head a little but hey it's back. I used Z4 on this phone because I got caught by Verizon when I manually rooted the first model which went bellyup after having it for a week. I wanted to make sure I could quickly get rid of the root if I needed to go back into the store.
To the other responder, sorry for not being specifically "clear".
I've been tinkering with 6 different phones from this one to two Motos and 3 different HTC's. All the methods are beginning to run together sometimes.
I appreciate the assist and I thank you both.

So I'm getting stuck at the same place. I'm new, so could you explain how to pave the way with Odin? I think I understand the concept, but I'm looking for a detailed list of flashing things (such as the update.zip from cwm) in Odin to my phone.
Thank you for any input!

Here's Update.Zip file for CWM
Direct Link, I uploaded it by myself, couldn't find decent one
http://www.4shared.com/file/ReRrCtwV/update.html
Make Sure to thank me if it works
If it doesn't let me know.
I installed CWM3 and none of the roms will want to install and using odin with many of the cwm's i have found online still brings me to orange clockwork
I looked and could not find anything specific for the galaxy phones on how to fix this, found files for HTC products but I do not want to install them with fears of bricking my device.
Anyone been thru this and know what I need to do?
I greatly appreciate the time.
Through Odin you can install it...

I just did this a few days ago to get off Orange.
I keep getting a dropbox 403 error, I have the file on another computer but I just do not recall finding a update.zip file inside the one i downloaded.
i love that thread except i messed up and got orange cwm
there's a step missing in the 2nd post. what you'll need to do is flash cwm red and also find a new update.zip file. the reason why you're booting in cwm3 is because of your current update.zip file. go to the irc channel and see if someone can send you an update.zip file to replace your current on in the root of your sd card. make sure they're not running cwm3 otherwise you'll have the same problem. ask someone who's running cwm red or cwm green.
what irc channel/sever is everyone on? I found a CW red supposedly right now some how... if I run into more issues I will report back
this is exactly what i have been looking for, im on clockwork 3.0 and cant install themes or nothing. But the link to the file isn't working, been looking for hours to downgrade to cwm 2.5. can you make another link or something, been trying so hard to get rid of cwm 3.0.and a link to a new update.zip would be great to. thanks in advance.
OK First and foremost i would like to say Thank You XDA Developers, you have helped me figure out ALOT about my phone.
First lets just say I'm a noobie at this (aren't all beginners?) and i did try the search function but couldn't find anything . if someone does find, please link me too it, it will be greatly appreciated.
OK now back to the problem, the thing im trying to do is install a custom ROM onto my HTC Raider LTE from rogers, i have rooted/unlocked/ installed CWM recovery on it and my phone is S-ON. this is where things get difficult for me, i don't know where to go from here, i have already downloaded DarkRaider_v1.5.0 and virtuous_inquisition-v4.0.2 just to see which one is better but i do not know what to do with these files. i have booted from recovery and installed from zip but i guess that's not right cuz i tried it three time and had to re-install the stock rogers ROM 3 times due to it Boot looping. Thanks in advance and sorry for any annoyance i may have caused
You did a full wipe/factory reset before install the ROM?
Anyways, post this thread in the device's forum, where will help you much better.
Yea i did that and thanks i will move this thread
First I would like to say I have gone through a lot of postings looking for an answer to my question so I have looked for my own answers. I also went through many sites outside of this one and haven't found a answer yet. I flashed UltraJack-Recovery v4.6.2 and then installed LeanFUSION V2 and this all went fine. I then decided to restore the original rom and discovered it was corrupted. After two days I finally found a download site that wasn't just a dead link and got the STOCK_ROM_USA_TMO which is 98.6mb. When I tried to install this rom I get " E:No signature (6 files) E:Verification failed Installation aborted." I actually get this type of message with most of the roms I tried. The amount of signatures missing varies but same sort of thing. Anyone who could provide me with a confirmed working factory rom or help with getting the one I have working would be really appreciated. Thanks for any help folks!!
Okay I decided to try installing Clockworkmod Recovery to my u8150 to see if I could get back to the original rom. The Google Apps version doesn't support the Ideos and I am having trouble figuring out how to install the 5.0.2.8 Clockworkmod Recovery by fastboot. I hate to ask for hand holding but I can't seem to figure this out. I really would like to have a bit more variety in roms I can install or returning to the factory rom but the UltraJack Recovery won't get past the unsigned or non verified sections of the roms I want to install. There has got to be someone out there who can help with this stuff. Thanks for any help.....
So I will be the first to admit; although knowledgeable with tech; I am lost and the guides don't seem to help.
So I rooted my LS990 and install BareCee_v2....
Everything works it seems; except for a few issues and questions that I have. After ROM installed the phone has SuperSU installed but nothing else of that nature. Do I need to reinstall TWRP and other programs?
Also, everytime I restart the phone I have a message appear at the top left saying "Secure Boot Error 1003"...it doesn't loop nor is it bricked and it fires right up but that error is always there.
I guess overall I just need to know where to go from here. I'm not exactly sure how to fix the Secure Boot Error problem and I don't know what else I need to do to make sure everything is stable.
Sorry for the long post and my ignorance in rooting/installing ROMS but more importantly thanks for the help.
