hey guys,
just moved over to the htc one from the nexus 4 and loving it so far - so much better. BUT few gripes I was hoping to get some help on. is there any way to change the status bar icons? What I liked about nexus 4's status bar:
- changes color based on connection. e.g. if bluetooth is on it's grey, if bluetooth is connected its blue
- same with wifi / 3g - grey if connecting, blue if connected
- only one icon for signal and connection (hspa / 3g). htc one shows two icons - one for signal strength one for up/down/connectoin type. I don't need so much info.
any help much appreciated?

Sounds like you want to get back on AOSP. Look in the Original Development section - there are a few AOSP builds. I'm not sure where they are on working out the kinks though.
I would check out Xposed framework for the One. There Ida nice application made for the One that can assist with some of these requests.
Also inside the At&t HTC One dev section there are mods to remove the Att network icons and give you the international look and accuracy.

Flashed this rom: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=946354
Most things seem to work but a few questions:
Flashed gapps to get Gmail, etc. Gmail works on phone, but is not auto syncing or updating. Only works if I do a manual refresh. Is this fixable?
I am seeing all the tools to tweak UI interface, but I thought there would be more. Specifically, I want to change items in the Status bar - text color, transparency, different icons, battery meter, etc. Is there an easy way to change these? I was using tweaks I made on UOT kitchen on my rooted stock Froyo 2.2.2. rom and this worked fine.
Wifi and 3G are working but 3G signal seems weaker now. In a place where I got 5 bars, I now get only 2 or 3. Also, wifi was connecting but then cutting out until I changed channel settings on my Netgear router from “auto” to channel 11. Is this normal?
DSP app crashes, FC’s.

I have the same phone here in the USA to change status bar and icons you need to download more themes and use the theme chooser app auto updates and sinc works for you may need to flash make sure you wipe data factoru reset before you do that the bars dont worry about if anything use the cyanogenmod setting toggle the 3g in your status bar and make it 3g only the bars will be low but the signal is fine if not better from stock ROM not sure about your wifi sounds like a router problem
Do a clean install and start from scratch.
check out ultimate online theme kitchen.... you can mod till your hearts content, and never have to unpack repack a framework
can't post in the original thread yet (too n00b) otherwise i would have...
anyway, i'm diggin' the ics-senseless ROM from this thread:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1640091
but i wanted 4g. you can't see it in the ics settings, and there is no quick setting for it either.
however, the widget 4g toggle here:
https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.jasoncalhoun.android.toggle4g
works just fine on evo 3d.
you still WILL NOT see '4G' icon in your status bar, but if the 3g disappears and goes blank, you'll have 4g connected. this lack of status indicator does not bother me much. i usually run a quick Speedtest check anyway to see what kind of throughput i'm getting.
Mornin' folks,
I just unlocked and rooted my m7. Still on stock ROM. There's a new icon on my notify bar next to the 4G icon. It looks like a stylized 'N'. It won't go away and I can't find any reference to it. Anybody know what this is?
Thanks!!
Never mind, it's for NFC, mods, please close

It's for NFC. You can turn it off in Settings>Wireless & Networks.
thanks Shark!
Today I (very briefly) spotted a new icon in my status bar.
It looked like a little person icon (head and shoulder, silhouette kind of thing) with sound waves on the right (like WiFi signal but horizontal).
It was only there for a second so I wasn't able to get a screenshot but will definitely try if i see it again.
I haven't come across this icon in the 8 or so years that I've been using android and I can't think of any obvious app that it would be for.
I haven't installed any apps in the last week or so either.
If it helps, I was on my Galaxy Note 9 on Oreo (8.1.0 / Samsung Experience 9.5), it is rooted (Magisk) and has Xposed installed.
Any help identifying this icon is greatly appreciated and I'll update if I manage to get a screenshot.
They are distracting. Looked everywhere, maybe command line?
Nope, not possible on Pie. Hopefully they'll remove them in Android 10..? Btw.thanks Sony, it's their stupid implementation ?
Why to remove it ? It is usefull

Because they are moving other status bar icons back and forth. I find it very disturbing. Arrows should be part of the network icon, current implementation is plain stupid.

Ok, i don't have many icons on status bar so it's not a issue for me, even if it is moving other icons i have never noticed it

Even if there's only one icon, the constant jumping was driving me crazy. I learned to tolerate it, but I would get rid of the arrows in a blink of an eye if that was possible.
Yeah, a bit annoying. On Nokia phones running Pie those arrows are part of the icon, the both wifi and cellular.
I disable the % of battery to save a little space. This helps when the icons are nearly full on the right half.
Or you may adjust the display size like the discussion here:

Hi there,
Got Android 10 Update. But the WiFi indicator is still there (
Any way to remove it now in Android 10 ?
