So I have flashed my phone firmware from KE1 to KE7 using Odin. However, I notice the Swype languages is missing a few languages I had back in KE1....noticeably the lack of Japanese. Before the update I really liked using japanese input for Swype rather than Simeji.
My phone is a UK unlocked version from Handtec so the CSC should be unchanged from stock ie XEUKD1.
Does anyone know what I'd need to do to get the languages back again??

the CSC for KE1 and KE7 were the same so it should be included if it was there orignally. i did just notice that the stock keyboard has the option of 30 languages but the swype keyboard only has 28. maybe on have a check if it is on your normal keyboard and not the swype one.
if all else fails:

No it doesn't show up on the Samsung keyboard either. But I did make the same observation as you that the language list under Samsung keyboard is different than that of Skype.
I suspect that the first batch of SG2 (which I got) had a different Swype language library. And during KE7 updates the library is updated and now it is gone.
My current Swype version is: 2.70.75.22981.22983.663.OXX
I wonder if the OXX text in the back designate a language library?
Hi all,
Just updated my stock phone to the new Villain Rom 2.3. All working nicely so far apart from I have no working predictive text. How can I enable this please?
Thank you.
Settings > Language & Keyboard > Samsung Keyboard > XT9
It is turned on but it does not work.
Probably because your language is not installed?
Sent from my GT-I9100 using XDA App
i'm having the same problem
have enabled XT9
have selected my language as English (Australia)
and i have reflashed and re-installed the rom a 2nd time now
as prodygee says, the selected language probably is not installed.
Change the system language to other (system language not keyboard supported language)
I have the same issue with XXKG2, it was set to Spanish (United States) and predictive text didn't work, then I changed to Spanish (Spain) and the XT9 works!
is system language
settings > language and keyboard > select language ?
Try flashing the appropriate CSC for your region, read in another thread that it may help.

2.4.2 has auto completion working fine
Ok, so as I understand it, I need to install a CSC file in order to restore working predictive text.
I have Villain Rom 2.3.0 installed.
Android version: 2.3.4
Baseband version: I8199XXKG3
Kernel version: 2.6.35.7-I9100XXKG1-CL349526
I am in the UK on the Vodafone network, however the phone was bought brand new from Samsung with no carrier lock.
Which CSC do I need to use please? Thank you for your help.
I'm currently in South Korea and need my phone to read incoming SMS that is in Korean language. Right now, I'm running HyDroG3nics 23.03 and unable to read Korean characters when I receive an SMS (English works perfectly).
1. What does it take for a custom ROM to be able to read incoming SMS messages in different languages?
2. Is there a third-party application I can use for this to work or do I just have to flash back to my stock ROM from a Korean carrier?
I would like to handover my mobile to my chinese wife and wh lives in China.
So I would have to possibility to change the menu (and Keyb) language to Chinese.
How shall I proceed ?

Invisible answer for your invisible ROM question :
And after that, you'll get the letters connected
arabic
we want to write and read arabic on sgs3 V3.0 |Ultimate| |Smooth|
is this possible ?
