I agree... it's really crummy plastic. But my wife's note 2 camera lens is in much better shape than this after several months

I'm confused, do you not still have the piece of plastic on the lens from factory? That covers the entire thing to the shiny plastic ring.
You have factory plastic on still. That will scratch very easily. Remove it.

Lol.
Looks like the plastic was still on! Hahaha.
Thanks for the heads up dude.
Just peeled it off and the lens looks brand new (because it is).
Now hopefully the plastic screen won't do the same thing to the actual lens.
Can anyone else comment on whether their S-View case is causing damage after the plastic has been removed?
Thanks again

The plastic doesn't cover where the lens is actually used for pictures, just the glass around it. I don't think it would make a difference.

Good question.
I honestly can't tell if this camera reacts differently to light than my s3. I feel like the s3 allowed more light in and took “brighter photos" at Lower res.
I'm going to need to mess around with this more to figure out the camera.
To answer your question, I don't know. I need to take some more photos!

Where can I find a battery cover plate for the white galaxy note? Not a case just the plate that covers the battery.

I'm using the elago cover from Amazon...$10 but it doesn't offer much protection besides keeping crud off of the 8MP camera on the back. The white one is a little slippery since it's not coated, just FYI. Hasn't caused a drop yet though.

Yes looking for either. Hopefully one with NFC if not can you provide links to the ones you know about. That would be great. Yes looking to replace my white one.

Also, the OE flip cover with the flap is a much better rear cover due to its thickness, texture and logo layout. What I did was just ter off the "leather" flip portion and am using just the battery cover.

Yes tried that would love to find a back cover like that without the leather. I cut it out too but back cover is to thick and doesn't work well with tpu cases. Love the look and texture of the flip cover case. Would be nice if they made Battery cover exactly like that.

Dont worry man.
Its gorilla glass... wont break so easily.
I already dropped mine a hundred times. It hasnt got even a scratch.
Still, if you want to protect it that much, use a screen protector and put a case around your phone that covers your phone a little from front. This way, even if your phone falls, your screen will not have direct contact with ground and it wont break.
Bump lol.

the side rubber indents make it grip when holding it, also the middle is recessed but it helps with gripping it, I tend to drop my phone often but havent yet with this one. (had it since day one 11/21) it feels really good, very solid.

Yes, the outer rim of it is flexible. so it will do just that
So I've been looking around for an aluminum protective case for my note 3 since it came home. As most of you have heard from others, the full aluminum cases despite the protection, suffer from drastic signal loss. I figured I couldn't go wrong with an aluminum bumper and bought two awesome looking bumpers off ebay. One is a gorgeous solid aluminum bumper with no hole for mic but really nicely made and a thin aluminum bumper with all openings. The biggest drawback of both of these bumpers is that there is no camera protection. As all of you have noticed the rear camera is raised a bit, which makes these bumpers a no go if your laying it down on rear. I saw a full protective case on Ebay that was composed of three pieces : aluminum frame, silicone style case and aluminum rear with a cutout. I went ahead and ordered for a measly $14 and some change, thinking it wouldn't be a big loss. My package arrived today from Hong Kong and I couldn't be happier. I absolutely love it. It is the exact look and feel I wanted. For those who want a nice solid aluminum case with no signal loss I recommend you get one. I hardly write stuff on here but I felt compelled to share my experience.
Here's the link to ebay ad.

I'm pretty sure its for NFC as well. Plus it helps with reception as opposed to solid rear cases with affect reception. Personally I'd like to see someone step it up and make some premium CNC cut luxury cases lime they make for iphones with nicely made cut outs in rear. I reached out to three of those companies today , like MeeJoJo and 2 of them said only iphones and s4 's.
These are just some cnc cases for iphone 5s that I'd like to see for our phones.
I think that case is ugly and weird looking. I think it makes the phone look like a plain block of metal. Maybe it would look better if it was black anodized aluminum.
