Goodnight everyone, today I come to the forum to ask for a auxilho connoisseurs of Android
My case is the following, I have a LG OPTIMUS G2X P999DW, manufactures it comes with Android 2.2 if I'm not mistaken, can be upgraded to 2.3; Anyway, like a good consumer wanted something more, so I root on my phone and installed it the cyanogemmod 10 Jelly Beam, so far so quiet taking some bugs of its own ROM, everything was operating normally, all but calls, all calls that I realized were a strange noise on my phone as much in who called me so I went back on the internet and saw that I had to update my baseband (no idea what that is, but updated anyway) and miraculously returned my calls work perfectly, but with the update of the baseband another bug appeared ... APN my connection (or 3G) stopped working, my phone recognizes the network but does not connect Claro BR apn in it, and when I check the apns settings, there is nothing, and if I try to add a new, all normal functioning less the fact that it does not save the apn I create ... is frustrating .... can someone help me fix this little big?
Thank you in advance for your attention to read this topic monstrous and postej sin in the wrong area sorry but I can not find my model in the suggested list!
Today I tried to use an application to make an autoconfiguration of my APN and when the app will get the operator, the following message appears ... "SIM CARD NOT FOUND! PLEASE CHECK!", in other words, my phone is not recognizing my sim card, so I came a doubt ... After i update my baseband of the phone, i must unlock my phone again?
sorry for the mistakes in English, I used google translator

I have looked at all of the threads and here goes...
I can't make phone calls. When I do I get a friendly message saying, "connection cannot be made." It seems to me that there is a disconnect with my provider. The provider is Sunrise Switzerland. Thus I am suspecting that I can make a call, but because I am not officially logged into the network for calling it is not letting me make calls. I am making the assumption that if it was a ROM issue I would not get the pre-recorded message from Sunrise.
Here are the details on the phone:
It is a Sony Xperia with the latest update 2.1 baseband .54. It is a "branded" phone from Orange Switzerland, but completely unlocked. I checked on the branded by looking at the services numbers.
I then modded the phone, and the phone call problems began. I did wipe everything as per the regular instructions. I upgraded using xrecovery. The phone can connect to Sunrise, and per the services menu it states connected to Sunrise. I can use the Internet connection, thus surf, get email, etc. What I cannot do is make a phone call.
Model: X10i
Android version: 2.2.1
Kernel Version: 2.6.29
Build Number: FreeX10-beta4_zdzihu
When I originally started the device I was asked for a network code and dismissed that dialog. Anything to do with it? And if so how do I get it back?
I want to stress that I wiped the machine clean with factory reset, etc, etc...
Because I posted in the wrong forum I got one answer, and followed it.
Namely I installed the Wolfbreak's ROM for my baseband. That just made things worse. I could not even get on my network.
Interestingly I decided to fallback to my original ROM, and on that I cannot make phone calls, nor receive (due to not being on the network), or data does not work. If I restore back to the ROM that I used, namely the Free then data still works, but not calls.
Found the answer and it is bizarre...
Essentially what happened is that my installation of Xperia went correctly. The problem is that I have two sims. The way to use one sim or another was to not have the other phone on. Or at least that is how I was using it.
I phone Sunrise and I told them my phone is activated. He said, "no your other phone is on." I pointed out and he then said to activate my phone. I did as per his instructions and all went ok.
The funny thing is that this was a "bug" in their system that they patched. And the patch JUST happened to be the same day as when I upgraded my phone to the new ROM.
The tech support was nice and cracked up laughing...
So, this morning was the first day of school for my kids. Of course I snap several photos then go to txt the pictures to the grandparents. And the phone goes to send..... and then just sits there.... for ages. Then eventually errors out. Odd, but you know, at&t is kind of crap so I figure I'll try it when I get to work. A few mins later I receive a picture msg from my sister and I cannot open that either.
Anyway, it looks like I cannot send or receive multimedia messages now. After chatting with the at&t support person for what seemed like hours, he says the problem is likely with my phone and i need to do a warranty replacement.
I am thinking that's a ROM bug/issue, right? Would doing a master reset possibly fix this? Has anyone else had this problem? (I'm running the at&t official GB ROM, I did not do the OTA update though. I did the full pudding/root pre-install load.
Mmm, I don't how it is named in English, but you should have something called "data management" in the setting.
In there there a 2 menus : in the first "data stream control" (or something like that, again I have a French rom) you should deactivate it or MMS can not been sent/received.
At least that was the case for me. This also prevent from doanloading app with only 3g, you must have wifi.
This is quite annoying because I can't control the data AND send MMS but wel... maybe there is another workaround.
Edit : I'm in 2.2.2, I don't know if that will be the same in 2.3.4.
You need to have the correct APN settings. Check in your Mobile Network options.
Who is your service provider?
Hot damn rush! I had changed my APN to a custom one a while ago (just apn defined as 'phone' nothing else set.) I changed it back to the default HSDPA and la-da!
I wonder why that custom APN stopped working?
THANK YOU!
Glad you have it working now, enjoy.
Hey guys,
Longtime lurker and firsttime poster. Let me just start by complimenting the community and management for making this website my #1 go-to every time I have an issue I can't solve. Now that I've finally registered, I'm likely going to be a regular member. What better way to learn all things android than to talk to people who have the same interests as I do.
Anyways, down to my current issue. I'm at the end of my rope with a Dell Streak 5.
Description of phone:
*Model: Dell Streak 5 MO1M
*ROM: Started with stock (didn't take note of version), right now Cyanogenmod Longhorn 2.9.3 Final
*Service: Factory unlocked to T-Mobile USA.
Issue:
*Sends MMS but doesn't receive them.
Troubleshooting steps I've taken before bugging you guys:
*Made sure the SIM/service wasn't the issue, by putting the sim card associated with the DS5 into a T989 and successfully sending and receiving MMS's.
*Put my own sim card into the DS5; was able to send MMSes but not receive them.
*Reset phone to factory
*Rooted and switched to Cyanogenmod.
*Verified APN settings every step of the way; tried 3 different combinations of APN settings from various T-Mobile support forums.
*Phone has a working and empty microSD card, in case it doesn't want to save to internal memory (It should still receive, but not download the MMS in that case, I would assume).
It's like nothing I do works. I've concluded that the problem with the service, but with the phone. The reason I installed custom is because I thought there might just be a fault with the factory ROM in the phone, and resetting to factory would just reinstall faulty apks/system files. So a brand spanking new ROM SHOULD have fixed it. Since it's an unlocked phone, APN settings must be checked, and inserting the sim auto-populates an APN, which I also verified, but no go. Even Spock would have concluded that all this behavior is highly illogical.
Thanks for any input you guys might have. On a scale of 1-10 with 5 being the intermediate XDA/Android user, I might be 3-4, so go easy on me please
Good morning.
I've got a little problem.
My wife wanted a smartphone so I decided to give her mine and order a 2nd hand one for myself.
She had a normal (FOMA) phone.
I took her quite-old-SIM card and put it into my X10 (flashed/rooted)
I would like to say that the only thing that changed is the SIM card and the microSD card.
I did the factory reset, and set her a new gmail account.
I can get calls out from the X10 with her SIM card, but when I try calling it, from skype or her old phone-with my sim it gets a busy tone.
On the X10 nothing appears on the screen.
Does it means the sim has a problem ? cause its old or something ? Does it relates to the phone's settings?
cause if one can make outgoing calls, it makes no sense that incoming will be a problem.
Our carrier is Docomo (Japan)...
I'll be going to the shop later but I just wanted to check here first.... My technical Japanese isnt that good - obviously and I don't want them to tell me things just cause they dont wanna fix it.
Thanks in advance...
X10
Incoming: no good
Outgoing: ok
SMS: ok
Wifi: ok
old FOMA phone
Incoming: ok
Outgoing: ok
SMS: ok
PS.
Since it worked fine before inserting the other SIM, I doubt it has to do with the ROM but... what do I know?!
Also checked here but its not the same problem as mine, since my other functions are working.

Help on the way
I think it might be the baseband or ril.
FIRST GO TO GOOGLE PLAY ON YOUR PHONE AND DOWNLOAD GETRIL. IF THAT DOESN'T WORK THEN TRY STEP 2.
SECOND IF THAT DOESN'T WORK JUST GO TO THIS LINK RIGHT HERE http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?p=26191697.:)
NOTE: BASEBAND MUST MATCH RIL FOR INCOMING AND OUTCOMING CALLS TO WORK.
ANOTHER THING YOU CAN DO IS DOWNLOAD Sony PC Companion HERE http://www.sonymobile.com/gb/tools/pc-companion/:)
NOTE: Sony PC Companion WILL DELETE EVERYTHING BACKUP.
Hey Guys,
Desperate lurker here saying First of all thanks for all the guides and everything that the devs and everyone that the community has done. I've search all of google and xda but i can't seem to figure out what's wrong with me Xperia Z2 .D6503
. T mobile carrier.
Basically since yesterday, I noticed that my phone couldn't receive or make any phone calls. but data internet, wifi internet and text messaging was working fine. Whenever people call me, i would just get a voicemail notice. At the time I was on the Marshmallow Existence rom. Ive done a lot of troubleshooting since then and still I can only make a call on GSM Mode.
Here's what i've done.
Wiped data and "reset" my phone on the Existence ROM - didn't work.
Wiped everything and flash Resurrection ROM - didn't work still.
Used someone else's sim card , couldn't receive calls either.
Use my sim card on a different phone - that one worked (SO IT'S NOT THE SIM CARD'S FAULT)
Placed back my sim card in the Z2 and reset flashed the stock rom from this page https://forum.xda-developers.com/xperia-z2/general/stock-t3355768
but that didn't work either.
I've also manually put the Tmobile APN.
Basically calls only work when changing it into GSM mode. but when i put LTE/WCDMA/GSM. Calls made under LTE/WCDMA/GSM Won't even make a dialtone when I make a cal. It basically just ends after a few seconds
I'm starting to think it might be a hardware issue because no matter which ROM i put, no matter how many factory resets and data wipes i've done. I can only make calls on GSM Mode.
Does anyone have any other ideas or should I just cry and buy a new phone.?
I suggest you to flash your phone with flashtool v0.9.18.6 and flash 291 ftf and wipe all
@whatsadophone
Have you try resetting APN for your SIM card when on your device?
thanks to everyone who tried to help. I don't know what happened. but after i tried putting the sim back in the Z2 to check my signals using Signal Spy, It suddenly can use LTE again. Only problem is since i installed that stock ROM, I lost my recovery mode and can't get it back. But i wont push my luck and just keep it like it is till i buy a new phone.
