I'm smelling mobo change, that's what you get when you play with pit files.

Please help, think I bricked my phone

I have followed the guides on restoring your phone with ODIN. I am able to restore everything with ODIN, I get to the part where it says "pass" and the phone reboots... from the video it's supposed to reboot and show some "yellow" text after the vibrant logo... I just get an infinate boot loop with (i get a hour glass/circle over a transparent battery icon and it just reboots and keeps doing the same thing)
If I disconnect the USB cable and pull the battery after getting the "pass" from ODIN I still get a boot loop, but this time it just flashes the "vibrant" logo
any ideas?

it was charged before I started this whole process... i don't know how to tell if it's charged or not now.. when I put it on the charger (from an off state) it just turns on and starts the boot loop (transparent battery with loading circle in front of it/repeats that)
Care to take a pic of the battery icon thingy...I've never heard of that.

Definitely not, it's taking you to OEM recovery. Good luck flashing from there.
Just flash a kernel with CWM Recovery if ROM Manager doesn't want to play nice. Do all you flashing by booting to recovery and flashing from there.
What could be wrong?
I click the boot into recovery from the rom manager.?

It hasn't actually installed CWM Recovery so it's booting you to the only recovery you have: stock.
You can also boot to recovery by vol up + home + power.
I could never get Rom manager working on mine so flashed a cf-root kernel with cwm included all working fine now
Sent from my GT-I9100 using XDA App
I find ROM manager only plays nice on CM..
Next time you find yourself there do the three finger salute and it should continue to cwm and even proceed with the ROM manager task.
Cwm is present but for some reason it hasn't written over the stock recovery. Its one of the most annoying bugs since I don't have a PC to fix anything with when **** gets squirrelly. I will be replacing this phone with the nexus for that reason primarily.

Ok. Now what you are from my country, let me tell you solution.
Service Center+Warranty= Free repair
Service Center+No Warranty= Repair for Rs.5000 approx.
if you have warranty, you are lucky!!
Otherwise, you are somewhat doomed!!!
But if you root your phone, you don't have warrenty anymore, right?

You shouldn't say that you are rooted.
Just say that you switched off your phone and it never turned on again to the service guys. They won't find out that you are rooted!
I had also bricked my phone with rom manager last year and I fixed it with warranty for free.

You have to use jtag cable to your phone, or dunno usb jig test (work for galaxy s2) will work.

USB jig doesnt work.
Jtag works but the kit damn costly. It is almost the price of a Galaxy Mini and requires some hardware knowledge!
Service center is the only way...

[Solved] Getting back stock firmware?

I got wanamlite rom working, but it didnt fit me so I decided to get back to my stock firmware so I restored the backup. It restored, all fine... he kernel, but not the rom. I still am having that rom. The problem is that I am missing the status bar and the task manager (doesn't appear if I hold home button). I might be missing something else too... I don't know.
What I would like is to get back the exact stock firmware I was using.

If kies works that's good then you can do it with that. .

Guys, I don't know what the explanation really is, but I reflashed the rom and it works. I do still have wanamlite rom, but I have the syiah kernel and everything else just like I had stock firmware.
