Hello, I have just rooted my SamsungS3 and I wanted some help.
I want you to say me your opinion about which ROM you think is the best for battery life and also with which kernel should I use it to get best of my battery ?
Thank you in advance
try using ARHD with perseus Kernel...
there's nothing best or bad buddy. all depends on your own opinion. anyways it is against the rules of XDA to ask such questions.

People get bent out of shape when these questions are posted (I dunno why they are only opinions) I have a Note 2 and have probably flashed 12 different roms, all good but for a Sammy base I like ptmr3's Jedi Roms (I am currently running Jedi Master), for Open Source 4.2.2 roms, I love Jellybam, which was banned by xda and has to be downloaded from Bam Android (devs site).

We do not encourage best rom thread here in XDA.
You need to choose what rom to use.
1st, base your rom choice from feedbacks of other members.
Try all roms if you want.
Then, choose which of the roms is working best for you.
Happy hunting and enjoy flashing

Maybe if it was worded "recommended rom" it would sound better. I honestly went your suggested route and was a flashoholic for months until I found the few I liked best.

Hi guys,
I cant decide which ROM i should put on my phone? Can you guys help me?
Which ROM can you guys recommend?
What is the most normal ROM you people put into your phones?
I am sorry I am a biiiig noob, who had a Iphone i the past 4 years.. Everything is new for me..
Can I just put on a new ROM, whotout thinking of my firmware?
Thanks a lot guys..
There is no general "best" rom.u need to try them out yourselves.
But good roms is (themed roms)checkrom, turkbey rom, omega rom or (stock look) foxhound rom, dragonice rebirth rom..
Or try cyanogen mod 9,aokp,miui rom, that is aosp rom build from sources(Google's original)
all is flashed from cwm(clockworkmod) recovery.
download galaxy s3 toolkit to your PC then u get easy access to root, backup, cwm recovery and guide on how to flash rom to your phone..
but read, read and read.. especially the OP on every rom u want to try..
good luck and have fun..
full charge icon and ongoing message
Hi,
Can anyone help me how to disable 100% full charge notification that anoy me very much. I have my phone all day in a desktop charger and I want to get rid of this.
Thanks
Unless you flash an aosp Rom like Cyanogenmod or miui there is not much different between them. Maybe a theme change but performance and functionality is pretty much identical amongst the touch wiz based roms.
Try a few and you'll see what I mean.

I think most roms are pretty stable for gs3. I have used stock but now sticking to foxhound 1.4.2. Pretty amazing rom and stable with good battery, not upgrading to the latest until jellybean version is proven to be stable.

Spoon feeding isn't allowed unless you have a proper maternity certificate, this is quite clearly stated in forum rules
Closed, no such thing as a "best" rom, search, read, and find out for yourself.
Im brand new to this ROM flashing stuff but i have worked with computers for years so im comfortable flashing the phone etc.
My questions are how do you choose what ROM to flash and how do you know it will work?
My phone is running i9300BVALF4 stock ROM but all the custom ROMS's i can see are not a slightly earlier build than mine, will it still work ok?
You read the rom description and decide.
Your current firmware is not relevant .
I9300. Takes any I9300 rom .

Choose omega rom v13
It's a modded stock rom so all the features are working and there aren't many bugs
When you click on a thread it usually has a not working list and browsing through the last few pages gives one an idea of how the people are finding it

For me,I won't hesitate a moment to choose mike1986 ROM
I pay more attention to speed and stability of my phone.mike rom is so smooth and stable that even beyond my expect. And I also care about battery

It was a close call, but he hasn't asked "what is the best Rom?" ....instead he sneakily asked "how do I chose the best Rom?"
This is a new development in assault tactics and the sniper committee is pondering the matter before taking to arms.
Itchy the trigger finger.

So firmware doesn't matter at all when flashing ROMs on the S3?

No, a firmware is just a stock Rom with stupid carrier apps and games baked in. Best thing is to root, do a nandroid backup of your stock firmware, then get happy flashing. Just read the threads and stick to Samsung based Roms until you are comfortable with what you are doing, it's a learning curve,, but a worthwhile one, another tip....explore the forum, look at the stickies, observe, listen and learn....and don't rush into anything....enjoy

I think you have to read the corresponding ROM threads deeply, then be confident to check some ROMs on your phone by yourself.
Every user has different needs. So the best for the one might not be the best for the other.
P.S.: And be careful with your question for the best ROM => http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1612881

It's all subjective.. Every single person has a different opinion.
And he's not being "hard", he's pointing out the rules for you, since you obviously didn't read them before you posted

Hi,
Which is the best ROM you think? Must be Stable and properly. (ICS and JB) Please give a link
There is no such thing as "best rom".
Different people have different preferences and ones needs vs others. And hence their opinions on different roms vary.
You can roll around the Development Section and try out the different roms present there and stick on the one that suits you best.

Please don't recommend ROMs
It would become same in essence as telling them what the best ROM is.
1. there is no best ROM or kernel
2.If you want my opinion I would chose jelly blast (latest) [4.1.1]
And even if you don't like the status bar, widgets etc. You can make themes and tweaks like I have

Hello
Mind reading the post above you ?
And JellyBlast is banned from XDA FYI
Edit: Jelly Blast isn't 4.1.1 if you think so, all ROMs we have are GB 2.3.6
