Hi everyone, I'm considerably new here so please guide me. I managed to make the notification bar transparent for the TouchWiz launcher, thanks to fellow themer AskinSavascisi (and a professional themer I would say). Problem is, this won't work on Nova launcher, the notification bar will only be semi transparent on it (maybe 50% or 75%? I'm not too sure), so anyone have any ideas? If you need to know, I'm on WanamLite custom ROM without Simplistic Framework or similar things. Thanks in anticipation.

Decompile your Systemui.apk. There are 3 files that need editing.
1. tw_status_bar.xml
2. tw_super_status_bar.xml
3. drawables.xml
This is exactly as what I have now.

Thanks so much, but I found a simpler solution, which is to untick the Show Shadow option in Nova Settings > Desktop. Though I will try out your solution too. Many thanks man.

Thanx, man I had the exact same problem, I had transparent bar using Xposed module but in Nova it still displayed differently as with the shadow... Now I know what it is Cheers.

Description!
I was Bored and it's raining here, so I figured I would draw up some battery icons.
I liked the idea of the stock battery icons, but i just didn't think they looked that clean, so I tried to fix that.
Also, I added color changes for the following:
20%= orange Gradient
10%= red Gradient

Since it's a theming section I would like to share the icon dock/bar I made. It's inspired by the HTC Flyer but looks great on the Streak.
Cz there are not many usable images around of the device I had to use my own skills but it's not half that bad
Well hope you like it... You can use it with ADW Launcher (ex) or Launcher Pro or probably other launchers aswell... Leave some comments in case you like it or not...
The middlepart is transparant and opaque so it should display the behind background like the real thing. I just left the separaters/deviders out cz I think it looks cleaner like this but in case you want I can upload these variations aswell. My Streak is not yet rooted so can't make a screenshot (didn't find a good app without being rooted) but feel free to post a screenshot of the dock here please!!!
To get the clock I suggest "Fancy Widget Pro" with the "H7C Clock" skin which makes it look like the same screen.

How about this for the different icon spacing?

Requested in the Bionix rom thread.
This is the stock TW Bionix1.3.1 framework.apk with the android green segmented accurate battery 100/100 made with the UOT kitchen.
All credits to Team Whisky, the UOT website devs, original battery icon artists, Jocelyn/s0niqu3, BricK'd for enabling with useful answers
I'm just the monkey who pushed the button.

I just flashed this and it didnt change my notifications bar. it only changed the png files for the battery, everything else is exactly the same as stock Bionix V 1.3.1
Thanks for this. It looks great!
My bad the screenshot does show a different notification bar, you will still get the stock 1.3.1 bar!
There is one other minor customization in regards to the battery that the UOT doesn't do, you might notice it in the proper lock screens that display charging status
Im using that Neon theme and I have a white bar.

If you flash this over another theme it will break the appearance of your theme. That is the way it works.

Thanks... I flashed it once before and it sent my phone into bootloop. I had reflashed 1.3.1 and flashed it on the fresh install and it worked perfectly.
kinda like this? i wanna use it in my theme, but don't know how to get the notification and menu texts in red....like this from captivate's darkfire red:

does anyone already have this done for the vibrant?
cause i'm trying to use a transparent, but slightly themed notification bar, but it looks weird when using browser and other white based apps. so i'm trying to change the color.
They are xmls in the layout folder go through them all the ones that say status. The color codes are in them. You have to decompile them edit then recompile
Sent from my SGH-T959 using XDA App
^^^^
Correct, they are also controlled in framework-res.apk/res/values/styles.xml
im gonna try this tonight....i put a themed transparent notifcation bar, and when using something white-based, like browser, you can't see the clock or notification text....so i would also like to change the colors on those. is it in the same file(styles.xml)?
@apocalypse: i'm gonna follow your tutorial on the team whiskey forums to change the clock color.
I'm trying to fix this, actually...
Sent from my SGH-T959 using XDA Premium App
edit: i'm gonna try putting a dark transparent layer over it. see if it helps.....
cause having to edit xmls is kinda over my head....
^ I'm trying to learn too. Use Notepad++ to open/edit/save the .xml files.
Master had a great thread on how to use APK Manager that REALLY helped me. And all of our great developers/themers have been so gracious.
I'm working on a community honeycomb theme, check that thread for help as some of the guys posted what to do, and I have a link to the guide I referenced.
Hello All,
Lollipop is up and running on many (almost All) devices now.
But Kitkat has its own charm.
I for myself love the Kitkat notification drawers, the two side pulldown wnere you could customise and add widgets to the left pulldown also unlike Lollipop where only the right side , GENERALLY, holds the widgets..
Also I loves the Kitkat navibar icons and despise the geometric shapes of the Lollipop nav bar.
Those are just my personal opinions, I know everybody loves Lollipop.
I know there are ways to activate and get the Lollipop Navibar and also the Notification style on Kitkat, BUT IS THERE ANY OPTION TO GET IT THE OTHER WAY AROUND???
is there any option or a flashable file for me to enable the notification style of kitkat on lollipop, I mean the pulldown bars only not the complete notifiers..
I know that themes can edit the nav bars to my liking, but is there any file for just that.
Sorry for my impatience and ignorance, but I have searched and found nothing for the solution...
kindly let me know if there is something..
regards and greeting to the gr8 xda community..
