wifi speed is excellent but the distance is another thing I do not get wifi when I am outside the house and when I get far from the router about 20 ft in the living room........
I read the same review and I don't know what they're talking about as I haven't seen any wifi lag whatsoever on my xtz

I've 100 Mbits connection I get 40-45 Mbits in 2.4Ghz connection (auto b/g) and then I get 80-90 Mbits in 5Ghz connection (N only).
Awesome! I got really scared there haha, im thinking of buying this, and a tablet with poor internet is definitely a deal breaker. Thanks for all the answers
Hmm I get slow wifi speeds with ps3 controller hooked up

I agree, i was not expecting such a solid lock in so few seconds. Amazing, indoors with overcast skies. Thanks Asus for making my tablet work wonderful with GPS now!
Unfortunately mine doesn't work nearly that well.
I'll have to fiddle around with it some more to see if there's something I'm doing wrong.
well, i doubt your doing something wrong... its just plug... no config to do... i tested while doing the gps monitoring, plug and unplug live... and you see the difference, i live in canada, im guesing your t-mobile that you are in the US ... should have a lot of satelite there...
It takes mine about 45 secs to a minute for it to find me in the Maps app. But I get a lock in about 20 seconds in the GPS Test app. Still, better than before.

sooooo I have gotten use to the awful 3G speeds that I get most of the time around my area. Some days you have good days but overall they have been in the gutter. I don't know if today is just a good day or if the evdo radio is actually that much better in this phone.

I never got even close to that speed on my 3D, I have ran multiple test to see if it was a fluke but they have all come in great ping times, 1,000kbps+ with about 675 up average. Pretty impressed actually, my 3D in the same area would bounce all over the place 500 average maybe sometimes lower. Anyone else seeing this in there area?
Also 3G actually works great while on the phone! I have been waiting for this feature for YEARS, I read rumors about it but didn't think it would actually work. Wayyyyy better - I heard towers needed to be upgraded for this to work - is it working for you guys as well?
I traded in my ET4G but after testing a zillion times here at home I never got above 850 and that was only upon rare occasions. Most of the time I was between about 350 and 520. I am now pulling 1200 consistently
My 3g sucks as always!!!

WAY faster than my hero! My hero would usually pull like 50kbps
I'm still getting the same results

with 3g
I've seen this before too. Not entirely sure why but guessing it put the radios to sleep sort of to conserve battery on wifi. Like, perhaps it keeps enough signal to send and receive but doesn't need to power it enough for fast data. Just a guess though because I've still been able to send and receive texts and phone calls fine with the signal like that.

the wifi would be my guess. as for the no 3g but full signal is probably because you're standing right next to one of sprints towers.
My wifi is just as bad and my PS3 and computer are just fine... If you find out please share.

Swyped on my EVO LTE
That seems pretty low. Hopefully its just due to it not being fully rolled out yet
Holy ish.... I didn't think I would ever see this in my home town..
Sent from my EVO using xda premium
I first picked it up in Valley Center and by Hartman Arena in Park City. But yes it does seem a little slow and at times it would drop the network and reconnect almost immediately. I hope it does get faster. But right now i feel like moving to KC for the LTE and Google Fiber.. /nerdgasm
I just ran some speed test.. It's not doing to bad but I've never had anything better than 3G so I might just be in awe...
I also wasn't getting internet at first so I updated PRL and profile and now it's screaming fast. (compared to 3G)

There are only a few towers with LTE in wichita right now. Once the roll out is complete it will be better.
They're definitely working on it. Im getting a signal at my house I wasn't getting a few days ago. I forced lte on my evo and have been connected and surfing for about 30 min now without dropping the connection. Not super fast but can't wait to try it when its complete. I wonder how long it'll take. Any guesses?
Well sheeeeeeyit. I was just in Wichita a couple days ago to visit the folks. Didn't even think about trying LTE tho...
With this phone being faster than others lets see some speedtests. I'll start!

Try different servers on speedtest. Also, there might be a lot of load on the tower. I know at the house I get about ~22mbps. Downtown I get that extreme speeds. I was in San Antonio for business over the past 2 weeks and the best speeds I saw were about 44mbps.
I tried 3 other servers and it the results were worse. It may just be where my house is located so I will try again when I go out.
