[Q] Restore Stock Apps - HTC Desire X

I'm on JB STOCK and I tried to Integrate update into ROM using Titanium Backup...it failed deleted my apps but in /system/apps the original packages are untouched. How can I restore them?

Never mind. Flashing the stock recovery and making a factory reset solved the problem.

J16 and Titanium Backup

Hey guys, I flashed to J16 using odin but it seemed to soft brick so i flashed to stock. From stock i then flashed to J16 and it worked. Question is if I used titanium backup for a full restore, will that be counter productive? Will it restore the stock gps files etc?
First of all, it's J eye six, not J one six.
Titanium offers many restore options. You'll be able to choose what you want to restored. Restore only (specifically avoiding the restoration of system settings, etc) the missing apps + data and you should be ok.

[Q] How do I restore my data / cache after wiping and flashing villainrom?

This might be a stupid question, but is there any way to get my backup restored? I just tried to restore a backup through CWM but it wiped my villainrom flash and went back to what I had before.

Is that not the whole point you backup XX try ZZZ decide you dont like it and restore the backup of XX which wipes ZZZ .
jje
yes I realized that eventually, I thought the point was to save your data like apps, themes, etc. so you can load them in the new rom. my apologies
You should not restore cache. When you boot up to a new rom, it will just redo the cache anyways.
As for Clockwork Recovery backup and restore, it does a full backup of the rom, including cache and user settings and apps. It restores back to the original rom as well.
I think you want to restore your settings and applications of your old rom into villainrom. I wouldn't recommend it as it settings for stock and custom might be different and can cause weird issues.
on that note, is there any way to access that information after flashing the new rom (to see what apps i'm missing and download them all again so I don't have to just redownload each one as I realize i need it?) without restoring the backup
nevermind I ended up just going back to my old rom, thanks for the replies guys
There is this wonderful app called Titanium Backup, it backup all your wonderful apps. This way, when you switch ROMs, you can just restore all those wonderful apps that you have been stockpiling.

[Q] [Ques]Restore Data

I made a backup from Backup & Restore named app. And now i have installed a new rom and made a factory reset, so all the data is gone.
But the backup is in Ext Card.
The problem is the same Backup & Restore app is not in this ROM.
I cannot find that app in the playstore.
It was pre-installed i guess.
Can anyone provide me with a link or something else?
My phone: Xperia Sola
Old firmware: Stock rooted
New firmware: Tiny CM9

[Q] What would happen if I selected factory reset in recovery being rooted?

I am currently stock rooted and believe I may have flashed some mods that aren't playing nice with my phone. My backups dont seem to be working as there is a md5 mismatch the second I choose to restore. So, no custom ROM, just rooted with some apps removed and some mods added. What would happen if I were to factory reset?
It erases your data, settings and apps but your mods kernels and roms (if any) stay the same also it would NOT restore any removed bloatware
Sent from my SCH-I545 using xda app-developers app

Do you have a nandroid backup or TitaniumBU? If so, and you're ready to go as far as wiping the phone, you might want to first try restoring from either of these. For CM/Nandroid, you can try an 'Advanced Restore' and just restore System. (is this where you're having the checksum error? if so, never mind).
In Titainium, you can restore backups of your system files (e.g., SettingsUI.apk) that are sometimes over-written by mods.
But if you want to sure, you're probably best off just doing a clean re-install. Find one of the Stock MDK ROMs in the development thread and flash one of those (follow instructions for that particular ROM).
You might be able to save some time after flashing by either doing a TB first and restoring your Apps+Data afterwards, or do a nandroid and Advanced Restore / Data.
Do NOT flash stock ME7 (except for DarkSlide SG4) or you'll lose root and recovery...maybe forever!

Factory Restore after installing ROM?

So guys, I wiped my OS installed the ARHD8 Rom which is excellent but if I want to do a factory restore the data does not exist.
Is there a restore out there or can I create my own.
I've got tarp recovery and titanium backup installed bit don't know what to do!
All I know is I want the option of factory restore if I ever need it.
