Hi there! There's similar threads but not for the international version (I9300)
Here it is.
my question is can I flash cwm recovery via odin and then flash a custom rom in cwm recovery?? Without root??
Please need help I'm new, its my first time and I'm interested in I want to do it like it should without bricking my phone
Thanks
no, all custom ROMs are rooted. you can unroot later. Why?
yes you can. i did the same and nothing went wrong.

Flash CWM recovery flash via Odin usually includes root .

recoveries dont have compatability with ROMS. They are two completely separate Operating systems on the phone and they do not interact with each other at all. No recovery is "Compatible" with any ROM

I wasn't answering that question. You asked another question which pointed to a lack of knowledge on your part. Lack of knowledge is dangerous so I helped you out. Rather than responding with multiple ??? (Which is rude btw) you could have simply pressed "thanks".
Root is part of a ROM. Recovery flashes ROM. Root has nothing to do with the ability to flash ROMs.
OP has posted today in yet another thread .
Here is my problem when trying to flash cf root with odin it stuck at get pit for mapping and fail it's really annoying please what should I do, to root my gs3 i9300 I'm running on 4.1.2 jelly bean XELLA

Does anyone know where there is the current leaked JB 4.1.2 that is in CWM. Just too lazy to use ODIN and having to root the phone all over again. Thx.

has su binary but not sure about superuser app. I think its the stock kernel but I'm not sure... you can do this if its needed but maybe not needed http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?p=34180283#post34180283
I mention that because if you want to avoid the yellow triangle and have a kernel that flashes things you can use Mobile Odin or extract the zImage and use hc-ktool to flash the below kernel.
Kernel for flashing; no CWM app though, so need to hold power home and volume up on boot: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1877270

You're obviously also too lazy to search.
Just use Mobile Odin via your mobile, it will also re-root and inject SU etc anyway.

Just used odin 3.07 to flash the fw,or mobile odin, with everroot on it.
http://download.chainfire.eu/267/SuperSU/CWM-SuperSU-v0.97.zip after you flash the fw downlod this zip rename it to update.zip place it to your sdard apply update to the recovery(stock)apply update to externalstorage.done you are rooted or flash phils kernel.

Is the phone working after the failed flash, or not?
you can also flash cwm recovery(only) from odin separately and then superuser.zip from that recovery.

My phone still working it turns on all good god bless and hope my phone will not brick cause I know what it is. I have bricked my galaxy note several times and the last time was really bad cause I have done with factory reset and it hard bricked. The Galaxy s3 is an amazing phone love it so much I really want to gain best out of it too. I'm running on jelly bean XELLA 4.1.2 for a while now I want 4.2.2 jelly bean, but before I have to root this jelly bean 4.1.2 XELLA
no, you don't have to root to install 4.2.2

So I flash cwm recovery via odin and then flash a custom rom with cwm?? Wow nice
Hello guys, i found the Android Revolution HD rom pretty awesome,it fits my style(stock, fast etc) but i don`t know how to flash it, i have Galaxy s3 i9300 International version Unbranded never locked on any carrier, firmware 4.1.2 i9300XXEMC2 stock kernel, my phone isn`t even rooted...i had a galaxy s1 and s2 before but im not so experienced with rooting the galaxy s3, in that ROM section how to install it tells me i need Custom Recovery, and now my questions are :
1. how i flash galaxy s3 i9300 ? i found chainfire method but i read that it doesn`t support custom recovery ... so what`s the method?
2. wich version i must flash ? what are the differences ? http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1797334 the 25.0 or 35.5 version?
HEEEELP ! PLEASE
If you read both chainfires thread and the revolution thread properly then all is completely clear.....don't skim it....read them both PROPERLY ....if you can't be bothered to do this then the chances are you will brick your phone
I just read the revolution thread and found the answer within 1 minute
I know Chainfire thread is 100% clear
This site is not for this

Go into Settings->About Phone and make a screenshot or type exactly what is written there.Include everything.
Why people try to install temporary CWM (the majority don't even realise it's going to be temporary) & don't simply flash a custom kernel which takes 5 minutes & works every time is beyond me.
this...
hope you can help me

You used terminal emulator ??
Then as it says you require a service centre repair
<<Failing that, flash stock and send for repair.
Tried Terminal Emulator and Root Explorer a lot of times.
Gonna delete efs folder then do full wipe and flash ICS Stock Rom again.
I solve my problem using codes via PC and Terminal Emulator.
Thank you very much for your helps
