Hello XDA,
I want to make a device tree for the Player 3.6 (EU), so that we can finally build CM. But I need a base device tree from the 5.0/4.0 (GB please ) Maybe someone can give me a link for a device tree for the 5.0/4.0 which I can use as a base. If someone has tipps'n'tricks for me he can write them down in this thread.
Thanks in advance, MrBrubble
You can try the galaxy sl (i9003) device tree because specs are very similar to the 4.2, and the 4.2 is similar to the 3.6. That's what device tree I'm using for cm7

CM9 != AOSP
Furthermore, you don't NEED to compile Android to compile a kernel..
Im sure by the title of the message you were hoping to get a jelly bean rom for your 5.0 but this is a question about cyanogenmod 10 for the galaxy player 5.0 if anyone knows cyanogenmods ricardo then let him know Cm9aphla is looking for him.
And 2 more things
1. don,t try to start some argument with me because i'm very eager for the latest android os , since most of you are adults it would be very sad to step down to an 12 year old boys maturity level .
2. anyone know how to fix hardware acceleration bugs in the latest aokps and cm9 roms
I'm currently working on cm10 for the galaxy player 5.0

Wow really?!?! Thats so nice of you!!! <3 I have a USA Galaxy Player 5.0 if u need a tester. I never tested before so ill prob ask a lot of questions if u do want me to help test Btw do we still need a kernel to get Camera to work? cuz i really want camera to work badly on ICS/JB.
OT: To fix hardware acceleration, we need a ICS Kernel which we dont have yet. We need the kernel for hardware acceleration, camera, and bluetooth i think. Everything else is fine. I hope we can get the camera to fix soon. School is starting soon and I want to take pictures for memory purposes with my friends and schoolmates.

Not to great. I'm not having much luck with the kernel if I could get adb working that would be great. But I think i might try building the 2.0 kernel with stuff from the 3.0 back ported

If you build any CyanogenMod rom from source properly, it should give you a system.img file and a boot.img file amongst other things so we should get a kernel

It's based on CM10.1... So not possible until there is JB for our phone :/
Hope ST will release NovaThor sources, so devs can develop CM10 and JB for our phone

UBUNTU OS IS UBUNTU OS (JUST ANOTHER KERNEL BASED OS), WHO INFORMED YOU IT IS BASED ON CM10.1/JB
But to say Ubuntu Touch is just Cyanogenmod with a skin on it would have to be false since Ubuntu does not use a virtual machine to run it ui or apps.

We need sources, not devs. It's impossible to get a working jelly bean rom without st-ericsson sources.

Sorry dude, You misunderstood. Ubuntu is not based on CM. CM is based on AOSP (android). In no way CM and Ubuntu are dependent on one another. They said
Code:
You can find all the needed Android git repositories at http://phablet.ubuntu.com/gitweb. This is basically a mirror of CyanogenMod 10.1, but containing only the needed low level services used by Android (e.g. no Dalvik at all).
It is for developers who want to bring the features of android to Ubuntu Touch. Thats all.
And Yes, there is a possibility that we may get Ubuntu, but not probably.
Guys, I have a Micromax A87 or Mito A78 which doesn't have a forum on XDA. I'm trying to make CyanogenMod for the phone. The problem is... Micromax or Mito didn't release source for the phone. Can I build CM without Source or should I try to Port CM from another similar device --- HTC Desire, which has the same resolution.

your gonna need a device with the same internals (or cherry pick from different devices) or many things wont work. do a google search for your processor and see what other devices run it, and compare to see if source is out for those similar devices. you can always fork a repo and modify code, even just rom cook if you cant source build.
good luck
Can you help me? What do you mean by ROM cook?
Even I'm looking forward to this. I'm looking forward to build CyanogenMod for Micromax A90.

We don't have CM10.1 because it will have the same (or more) bugs than the current version of cm11 available for our device. CM needs to be compiled from source. The patches will be more or less similar.

Porting CM11 isn't possible without the Kernel source because Kitkat itself requires binder.c patch in kernel. You can look for clone devices or try porting CM10.2. But don't expect a perfect rom because it isn't built for your device. It will have same bugs (or more) that are in the rom you are porting. I recommend looking for clone devices and see of their source is available.

Thank you.But if you make CM10.1 successfully,we chinese will be very happy, because most of Chinese MT6589 phone don't have CM11 or kernel sources. We can't port CM11 to those phones, but CM10.1 can.
