[Q] Soft keys got very dim - AT&T Samsung Galaxy S II SGH-I777

My soft keys got really dim on my sgh-i777 today. I flashed the supernexus2.0 rom and they were still dim. I tried changing the kernel to ajk but nothing happened. I want them to be nice and bright like they used to. Anybody have the same problem? Until I can find a fix I'm going to keep them with no backlight.

Queer display problem

Hey guys, I have a weird problem with my SGS2. A few days after I flashed Lite'ning Rom v6.1, my phone's display went haywire. I cannot switch the display on, but the phone is working i.e. backlight notification works, vibration works.
I can boot the phone and hear the bootup sounds and everything, just that the screen is off.
In the rare event that it manages to switch on, the display's off color (colors not as rich, black is slightly off etc)
I've tried reflashing the rom, as well as flashing the stock sgs2 rom/kernel and Sensation Rom, but I still get the same problem.
Can anyone help me out here?
Your screen is probably bust, go exchange it if you have warranty.

[Q] (Q) Soft Key Buttons problem

Help me my soft key buttons are really weird because when ever i have RCMix Kernel or BCBlends Kernel installed the Soft Keys are all at full brightness, but when ever i have ANY other kernels installed they are all at a lower brightness except for the home button, which is barely lit up. HELP... if thr is a fix plz let me know
flash a different kernel. loooolllllllll
I know i could just flash one of those kernels but thats not what im saying, i want to know if thr is a reason behind this....or a fix
EDIT: My dads 3Dvo and My Cousins 3Dvo doesnt do this, only mine, (i dont think it is the model either because this is my second evo 3d and they both did it)

Soft key illumination bug?

Anyone else ever experience a problem with losing the backlighting on the soft keys? This is only happening on the ICS-based roms(CM9 and MIUI). If i go into settings and adjust the brightness either way the buttons light up but then are gone for good once the phone goes to sleep again. Makes no difference if auto-brightness is on or not. Any ideas?
If I'm not mistaken if you turn on auto brightness just once it will turn the lights on, but once you reboot the phone it will turn off again. That's what I remember when i was on CM9, but that was back in alpha.
Yeah I can get them to turn on by adjusting the brightness but they are gone as soon as i press sleep button. Doesn't happen in CM7.2 or stock so I know its not a hardware issue. Only really an issue when its dark.
Try putting it on auto brightness, back out of the settings, and put it in sleep. Idk if that will make a difference, but it's different then just changing the brightness.

Yeah I've tried that but thanks FC for the replies.
No problem sorry I couldn't help. I'm not on CM9 right now, so there is no way I can test it myself.

:S auto-brightness seems to do the trick for me and most of us out there having this issue, badluck4u.

Backlight Hardware Buttons

Since I bought my Atrix, the lights of the buttons are like on the image below: back and search are fully dark. On full brightness, is OK (but menu and home is always a little brighter)
Is it normal? Until today I did not mind because the button work OK and I don't want to send to assistance only for that.
Does anyone know what can be? At my research, I found that the backlight of buttons is the same as the screen , right?

Click to collapse
Nope, not at all. Those are two backlights controlled separately.
No idea what's going on with yours. As far as I know, soft buttons are backlit with a few white LED-s, I guess some of yours are just giving out.
Mines the same on CM10.

[Q] Control Softkey LED Brightness?

Hello, I have a quick question about the softkey LEDs on the i777.
The LEDs on my phone seem to be very dim compared to what they can pull off. Upon the initial seconds of powering on my GS2, the LEDs get very nice and bright before my ROM's splash image appears. After that, its dim and (to my eyes) not as attractive.
I was wondering if there was any way to brighten them back up to their full potential.. Any info would be much appreciated!!

I have the same peoblem :^/ it's no big deal, but it would be nice to have them bright again. I also noticed the home key seems dimmer than the rest ever since I installed shostock.
