Hi all,
I'm encountering some problems when i'm trying to update my Hyundai T7S tablet to the official jelly bean 4.2 ROM.
I've the update from the Hyundai website (hyundai-digital .cn). This download comes in a .rar file. I knew it would be impossible, but tried anyway to flash this file from the SD-card. But to make it work this way, the update should be a .zip-file.
In the .rar file are 15 files, some of them are .bin and .img files. And I've not the knowledge what I can do with these files. Unfortunately the support guide of Hyundai can not be opened and two hours googling didn't help me out. So here's my question:
Is it possible to convert the .rar file into a .zip file and flesh this file? Or can I flash the rar-file in some way?
Thanks!
ps. i had the full links copied in my message, but since this is my first post, i cannot post links. Sorry for that!

Extract all files in zip to SD card (ext.). Power OFF. Press Volume - and Power and update will start. Looks like you use Volume + not - witch takes you to recovery mode. When done tablet will turn OFF. Power ON and you should have new firmware.
You are talking about "HYUNDAI T7S-20130318" ?....if yes it is not 4.2 is still 4.0.4; If you found a most recent one (4.2), can you email me with download link please ?....I can't find 4.2 for T7(S). Thank you !
I think 4.2 is not yet aivailable at all.

In the section HYUNDAI T7S-20130318, there is something about Android 4.2
Can someone confirm this? If it is 4.2 I am buying this tablet right now .)
I believe it is, but I only got mine yesterday, not even rooted it yet.

exactly. even though some sites advertise it as a 4.2 device, the latest available stable fw is still the 4.0.4 from the 18th of March.
I just tried exynos abuse 1.4 about 2 hours ago on my t7s and it worked like a charm.
Waiting for 4.2 too
Another T7S user here, waiting for 4.2, too. Is there something wrong with the website? When I visit http://www.hyundai-digital.cn/ it tells me:
bad requesta (invalid hostname)
I copy/pasted it, and yes, it's "requesta". I don't know what's going on with that D:

from what i've read (some weeks ago): the main hyundai company has told that branch producing the tablets not to manufacture devices to be exported from china, so they're cutting the rest of the world off their official site --> you'll be able to reach the webpage via a chinese proxy (as if you're browsing from china).
about the update for which we're all waiting for: last time it was told to be released in 2013 june, so i still haven't given up yet. anyway: just search for "slatedroid" on the internet if you'd like to get updates about the tablet in english

Another possibility could be porting CyanogenMod OR buying a tablet to a developer. We already have CM for the same SoC, so I think about xplodwild or codeworkx, the two main i9300 maintainers

That would be great!
This tablet will literally fly with CM.
How can I ask to a developer to port to this device? Is it there a specific forum? Or just pm them?

Well that'd then be the reason why the 4.2 ROM for the rest of the world is now available to download through MediaFire rather than an official Hyundai page.
For those who haven't found it yet, this post on the GeekBuying blog details the download and installation of the 4.2.2 upgrade.
I'm in the process of downloading the 222Mb archive now; going rather slow which is nothing new for MediaFire.

Hi all,
[UPDATE] 2014-09-22
Thanks to @sumenpo who posted in the question thread.
Huawei Taiwan has now posted R002C324B007. R002 means it is the 2nd major release.
http://consumer.huawei.com/tw/tablets/support/downloads/mediapad-x1-tw.htm
Huawei Taiwan has posted B006 for the 501L but it is not KitKat yet, although this is the FIRST release of any international ROM by an official Huawei site for the 501L
Support Site
7D-501L_V100R001C324B006_Client_Software_Taiwan_CHT_Android_4.2_EMUI_2.0_05012KJM.zip
I would like to thank chinkc from Malaysia's lowyat.net forum for the link.
According to the download site, it supports MULTIPLE languages, and English is selectable.
There are no Changelogs as yet.
According to XDA members who have tried (see few posts below), thanks @Dead-Eye, and chinkc from forum.lowyat.net/android, B006 will prompt you to update to B007, so net effect is that you get B007.
at last
Thanks for the good news .. I'll start the download .. and will come back with the change log .. باذن الله
I hope kitkat is coming soon

Finely an update!!!
Well, I upgraded my Mediapad X1 (7D-501LV100T001C199B003) with success to this latest build version: 7D-501L_V100R001C324B006. After the upgrade, I receive an automatic update to version B007. So I'm currently sitting at 7D-501L_V100R001C324B007
Yes it does have English for language choice.
I have noticed a smoother (faster) operation then my previous verison. There was some preloaded China apps after the installed but I think you can uninstall it.
Still no arrow icon to hide the bottom Navigation bar, but I saw somewhere in the forum you to modify your build.prop and local.prop files (I haven't tested yet).
I also hope soon they will release KitKat firmware soon. For the meantime, I will enjoy the latest release.
Thank you Joytest for provide us with the link to the update.
Done
The update done,, it took two days to complete the update.. because i was buting a lock for the sd card which was stopping the process,, a message (update.app not mounted) with a big fail in red.. but when i removed the sd card lock,, the update completed ,, i did not recognize the change log yet,, but there is an ota update B007 came automaticaly ,,
Thanks every body
501L B007 update
After doing the SD card Rom installation using the B006, I received an OTA for B007. While the sudden increase in the icon sizes can be annoying, I can confirm that the performance has improved significantly. Btw my unit came out of the box at B001. The lags were very annoying and I was close to selling the unit. But I told myself I would experiment on this first before doing so. Anyway my Antitumor before was 21k+ now it is 26k+. Also it behaves now like a real jellybean device, smoother than ever. I notice that it seemed like around 200+ ram space has been added (could be that the firmware caused the more efficient memory management) that's why I can open lots of apps now without experiencing significant lags. My LTE signal has stabilized more. Sorry I couldn't offer screenshots. I really hope that kit at will come soon.

The dload folder is inside the zipped file. Find it and put it in the root directory of your SD card. Make sure your SD card is Fat32. Make sure your unit has at least 80% power or more. Turn off the unit. Turn it on again. The installation should start upon reset.
After successful installation, you will receive OTA update to B007. enable it for another round of firmware update. After this, you should be able to enjoy a smoother X1

Before this update, my unit could detect my 500GB Seagate and 1TB WD external drives via OTG. It was really convenient. Now the B007 update seems to have removed that feature. Could it be that the reverse current feature in the USB port was not included anymore? I think it's the one that's supposed to power up the disk so it can be detected.
I've just done the update on my 501L, from B003 to B006 and then to B007 OTA.
With B003 my home wi-fi network showed up on the MediaPad. My 2.4 GHz network was on channel 13 and my 5 GHz network on auto channel selection. After updating to B0006 both networks were no longer recognized. I then found out that channels 12 and 13 on the 2.4 GHz band were no longer supported (had to change to channel 1) and that 5 GHz is no longer supported altogether!
The interface is faster but removing channels and the 5 GHz band is a downgrade. Also, the only western language supported is English, unlike firmware B003 which supported several western languages. IMO this a sloppy job. Huawei did some minor tweaks on the oriental firmware in order to make it work with 501L devices and that was it.
From what I've read, the KitKat update is another sloppy job. I'm starting to wonder if these 7" were worth leaving Samsung. Anyway, if you face this problem, just change channels and your wi-fi network will show up.
Updating to B007 should give you back the 5GHz.
And yes, Huawei's software is sloppy. For everything they fix they bring back one previously fixed problem, plus a new one.

Alas, it hasn't. Do you have it on yours? If so, what are the 5 GHz settings on your modem (Channel bandwidth, Control Channel and Extension Channel)? Thanks.
Channel 36 @ 5180MHz. Rest I don't know.
Thanks but no dice. I've tried every possible combination on channel 36 and 40 + everything in auto mode and the 5 GHz channel still doesn't show up. It is not like I can't live without it, but if it was there in the first place there is no reason for it to be gone (apart from Huawei's incompetence, that is).
501L_V100R002C324B007 is available. See post 1.
According to @sumenpo, it is Kitkat.
Time to give it a spin?
Going to try...
Joytest, Thanks for the update. I'm going to test this new update. The last Taiwan update my 4G didn't work everything else work okay, so I end up updating to the German KitKat 4.4.2 release but the samething 4G didn't work and the dpi setting is high (400). After some research my Middle East 4G LTE has the same bands of Taiwan and German, so I don't know why my 4G is not connecting. Maybe something to do with the hardware itself.
I hope this new Taiwan KitKat 4.4 version that the dpi setting is set to 320 and my 4G work.
I give a try once download is complete.
As anyone else updated to the latest version? and if so, is the dpi set correctly?
I loaded it up last night, and it is 400 dpi. Everything is a little larger, and according to some reports, the device goes into "phone" mode instead of "tablet" mode originally. For example, the icons in Clash of Clans become larger, like on my Note 3. Previously I could see 2 rows of Defenses icons, no I can only see 1 row.
The only other gripe is that I can't install Xposed. Anyone have any clue? The previous hack of modifying build.prop ro.config.hwtheme = 0 no longer works.

I am from Pakistan myself and got OTA update about a month ago. What's your model?
Mine is PLK-L01.
Update notifications don´t come at the same time for every country or even every user in the same country.
1- Don't stress out, just wait. Or even better, wait for the first feedbacks from other users about the update. Some are not good enough, i.e. solve some problems while fixing others.
2- Make sure you have HiCare updated. This can be done inside the app itself. Check the "early adopters" section inside the app.
3- Make sure you make a backup full relevant data with Huawei Backup app, into external USB drive (OTG) or sdcard.
4- After update, factory reset, restore from backup and phone is as it was before but updated.
New OTA has been released for 7D-501L:
http://hwmt.ru/hwmtsite/firmware-database/?firmware_model=7D-501L&firmware_page=0
7D-501LV100R001C151B002 (august 10th 2017) <incremental OTA>

7D-501LV100R002C100B105 (july 27th 2017) <incremental OTA>
WARNING I THINK THOSE UPDATES OFFER ONLY EMUI 2.3 (please confirm if you try them). SO LESS INTERESTING THAN EMUI 3 ROMS : TAIWAN B013 (with Limited languages) OR CHINESE B011 FOR 501L (with google to be installed on).
Of course all rom in this post are Kikat roms, lollipops roms for X1 are still betas and not bugs-free!
To install them, you have to be on a kitkat rom, and put the whole update.zip in a dload folder at the root of your external or internal SDcard. And then do a EMUI local update ('Settings', 'Updater', 'Menu' and 'Local update')

To download and install , you can also use Huawei Firmware Finder (Android app or Windows software)
for android, use the app + its proxy to receive an OTA, see https://www.youtube.com/playlist?list=PLgw3d3fHTj5E33lNsLcCwcgoraZmfin7V and other tutorials videos on Youtube from several users.

It should be an update of European B103, but please confirm the EMUI 2. 3 feature. Thanks

I've tried it. To make it work via the sd card i needed to copy the update.app from the modem directory out above. On the version i'm on B103 but after the upgrade it still says B103 but the kernel has changed. I downloaded the full OTA B105. Is this correct ?
Screen shot after the Full OTA B105 upgrade. Note only the kernel shows the 2017 update. Emui is 2.3 Build ware B103 and not B105.
Forgot to add that i was on version B103 before i upgraded to the B105. As there were a number of B105 links i chose the FullOTA on the remarks to use as the upgrade. Thanks.
I didn't succeed to upgrade to B105 from B103. There are a lot of files in update.zip and update.app is a only for the modem...

For 501u, the chinese B011 kitkat EMUI 3 is far better(chinese B113 is lollipop, but unfortunatly buggy) . Forget this 501L B105 kitkat EMUI 2.3 ...
Changngs EMUI version will really boost your device.
To update your 501u, please read complete informations (google services and apps, custom mod..) . : https://plus.google.com/u/0/111535114647059116634/posts/cwr4NKANeQg

Update.zip, even those given in ministryofsolutions, has not the framework of a full update firmware (update.app,...). It looks rather like an incremental update... It is the update.zip I tried to use...
Im going to give a try on huawei firmware finder or huawei updater, that I use on my X2...
Thanks

For those .zip without update.app, you have put the whole update.zip in the dload folder. And then do a local update ('Settings', 'Updater', 'Menu' and 'Local update') . IT was the same when I installed my full european B103 (wich was a 135 Mb incremental update for B102)
see here (point 3) also !
I've just check, and ministry of solution's huawei link for B105 is the same as the one in firmawer finder database. So definitly not installable with dload/update.app (so the site is wrong, I did correct post #!)
BUT if put the whole update.zip in the dload folder + do a local update works('Settings', 'Updater', 'Menu' and 'Local update'), that would be a great news to install all update.zip found on the firmware finder database! All OTA links for the database giving a "update.zip" file should be installable with EMUI updater )! Please give it a try on your X1 Let me know!
On my side as manual update disapear from EMUI 4+, for X2 devices I'll have to use huawei firmware finder or huawei updater, or reinstall local updater in EMUI 4. I might give a try at local updater reinstallation, so that would be a ne way to use update.zip OTA found in firmawer finder database

If you start from B103, that should work for sure. But please try first "put the whole update.zip in the dload folder + do a EMUIlocal update" first. Thanks!!
NB: The method 2 solution of this thread seems quite interesting to manually install ota update!

A brief remember of best 501L rom for now according to me :
The B013 rom from Huawei taiwan will be perfect for your 501L if you don't mind english as a main system language (apps'language can be yours with morelocal 2/morelangs). If you do mind, install chinese B011, but you'll have to manually install google play and google sync services, and root too uninstall chinses bloatware.
Actually this is not swithcing from Android 4.4.2 to Android 5 that will boost your device (anyway android 5 roms are buggy on the X1!!), but switching from EMUI 2 to 2.3 to EMUI 3!!
** Best OFFICIAL 501L ROM (android 4.4.2, EMUI 3.0, 400 DPI):
- B013 (Taiwan): http://consumer.huawei.com/tw/support/products/downloads/detail/mediapad-x1-tw.htm?id=60006
Warning, few supported languages: Chineses & english. But if you root your device, you can add your language, for applications at least, with "MoreLangs" and/or "Morelocale 2", available in google play store
** Some other recent OFFICIAL 501L ROMs (android 4.4.2, EMUI 2.3, 400 DPI):
- B103 (Europe):
http://consumer.huawei.com/ch-fr/support/products/downloads/detail/mediapad-x1-ch-fr.htm?id=33626
or
http://uploaded.net/file/z4hblokv
- B017 Malaysia (B017):
http://consumer.huawei.com/my/tablets/support/downloads/detail/mediapad-x1-my.htm?id=42841
--------
But, for a more advanced ROM (possibilities of custom mods, lollipop betas), you can install a chinese rom devoted to 503L, but fully functionnable on 501L, without restricting the extra 501L's 4G bands:
** Last OFFICIAL ROM released (B011 (china) = Android 4.4.2, EMUI 3.0, 400 DPI framework with per app DPI setting)):
https://1drv.ms/f/s!AoChLp8DMXIsrlbMUNz1JI4lk1Xc
(this pack is ready ton install on 501L with no modifications)
option: ** you can also flash the HRT_KangVIP custom mod on your B011 if you want:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/hua...x1-503l-501u-emui3-0-b011-hrtkangvip-t3058112
** Last BETA ROM released (B113 (china) = Android 5.1.1, EMUI 3.1, 400 DPI framework with per app DPI setting):
Start from a device installed with above B011.
Then update to (B011SP5): http://forum.xda-developers.com/huawei-mediapad/general/rom-t3226547/post63329818#post63329818
Then update to B113: http://forum.xda-developers.com/huawei-mediapad/general/rom-t3275540
<WARNING: those betas are known for non-working apps issues (youtube, facebook, instagram, various video apps...), non-working google services (sync, store, gapps), VPN issues, memory cards issues. To try to solve them, please visit https://plus.google.com/+jbmondoloni/posts/796orfk1AnJ , let me know if it did work for you >
** add Google apps and their sync to the chinese ROMs :
2 possible ways (at your choice):
1)use Huawei store that is already installed on your device:
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=h0mLOgs6wTY
(Install at least the play store app, and the two sync apps for which you can see their icon below:

OR
2) Download the apk

For syncs services:

for the lollipop beta rom's google apps and sync: simply download and install the 3 .apk files attached to:

Options:
** root using kingoroot:

OR for lollipop, you can also use MobileGo:

ALL ROMs in this post are multilanguage except where noted (put your SIM card inside device before first boot), and cover all bands handled by the device. So countries of origin, are here only for information, and are not a limitation of place for use.

understand. I sit on b110 (5.1) and everything suits (b113 brakes). I have so understood it rom for the Japanese market and perhaps it will be updated to 5 and will correct errors, though all the same.

it's for chinese market, and the lollipop X1 roms stayed at a beta state for years now .
Hello,
I have a MatePad M5 Pro that is stuck on Android 8.
Model: CMR-W19
I don't care if it's official ROM or custom ROM. I would like to maintain the WidevineL1 and mpen and keyboard support.
Can someone please point me in the right direction?
Try downloading HiSense software onto a PC, then connect your Mediapad to the PC and it will check for updates, even if checking for updates on your Mediapad itself doesn't find any.
This worked for mine. I was stuck on 8 too, until HiSense found an update and did the update on my Mediapad, then the Mediapad was able to find further incremental updates itself.

Any idea which to use? There are a lot of different Android 9 builds.
And how do I sideload on this device? Sorry if that's a noob question. haven't had to do this for a number of years.
When you click on a version to download, it gives you full instructions on how to install.
You are best going up in stages.
Find the same version that you have currently installed, then download the next version number up.
They're all for the same device, but that is a list of every update that's been released.
So install the next version up from yours, then try searching for the next update manually on your device to see if it then triggers it to keep updating itself. If need, just keep running the updates by SD card method.

Thanks! Im guessing I just can't install the latest update first?
I'm not sure.
Mine did incremental (about 6 in total), even though the latest one was newest.
To be sure, you're best off going up in order.
Because it's fully stock and you're doing in the correct way, it will scan first, so any issues and it won't install - so nothing to lose.
Hi all,
Had a read through this thread to see if there was any chance of an Android Update for my device but from the answers given, I can't seem to find anything.
I'm using an M5 Pro 10.8 (CMR-L09 - Cellular) on 8.0.0.203 and the Huawei Updater site doesn't seem to have anything above this for my model.
If I was to look at installing an OTA for the likes of the CMR-W19, would this harm my device at all?
They're both Cellular, both 10.8". Only thing I can really see different is that they are 64GB and I'm 32GB.
Also, as a side question, I don't have a PC, what's the best way to download and install an update using the device itself?
I look forward to a reply!

In regards to the part of if it would be bad..
CMR-W19 is not an LTE model. So if you do successfully flash the ROM, not sure if you would have issues with LTE.
Ahhh, glad I checked! Thanks for the reply!

Would I use the OTA-MF or FULLOTA-MF?
CMR-AL19 (m5 Pro 64gb LTE) here. I'm on 8.0.0.199 Android 8.0 With July 19 Security patches. No Update available. Huawei support told me there is no newer version available for this Model.... I'm abit mad coz it's even the 'pro' Model..
