I've flashed several roms and had never problems with that/with my IMEI
Just unlock the bootloader (if you want custom roms that are not stock based) and flash the kernel you want. Then flash the rom and it should be fine :good:

hi ..
i have XPERIA NEO with stock kernel and rom .62 ...
i want to flash a stable , fast , supporting arabic custom rom ... as i've searched and read in this forum i think the most suitable rom for me is MIUI (please correct if am wrong , coz am newbie ) ..
the problem now ,, i dont want do anything withoug backing up the stock kernel and rom ,, and to backup i need CWM , to have CWM need root , to root i need to downgrade to .42 what means flashing the current firmware without backup ! (right ?!) ..
so,
1-is there anyway to backup my stock rom ? (coz it supports arabic , and to restore it in case i have any problem in flashing other roms ) ?
2-does downgrade from .62 to .42 means flashing a new fw and every thing in the phone will be erased ?
3-is it mandotary to unlock bootloader if i want to flash MIUI for example (although i dont know whether my phone's bootloader is locked or not !! how to know if there is a way ?)
4-what does the backup option in CWM backup exactly ? kernet + rom + installed app ?
5-which rom u suggest : Stable , good battery , Arabic support.
sorry if too many questions but really need help , coz the current custom rom sometimes have problems , like, sometimes the screen stays on with battery drain and overheat !
thanx in advance..
You will get all the answers reading the threads around, really no need to open a thread for your own questions. Happy search!
Hi everyone ,im a android user for about 2 years , and i used to have motrola`s and htc`s ,and now i own a goregeous s3 international version, already rooted and runing rom (omega).
I use to help my friends with theyr phone (rooting or updating through odin, etc) but recently ,i received alot of *unrooted* and stock firmware s1 and s2 ,who shared the same problem , after the ota updates (the legit kies way) they had problems with baseband and imei.
And i had a lot of work to do to get them working again ,the s1 was fairly simple but the s2 was a pain in the a** .
While im a pretty monthly flasher ,i was thinking to do a backup of the efs folder for myself (curently i only have a backup of the firmware that was on my phone when i got it a cwm backup).
I don`t know if the efs is in the cwm backup)
If not ,i really want to backup it ,just to sleep well at night ) ,any suggestions how to backup the efs on a s3 ?

Install K-Tool by Hellcat from Google Play and make a backup of th EFS folder or use adb. Look here for adb instructions http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1689623. After the backup save a copy on the pc.

hi i have installed cm11, i tested it which was fine , but when i backed to stock rom , i have got a bootloob , i tried to wipe data ,but it show that
E:format error , rfs format failed on /dev/stl11
what can i do pleas help me
Which Device
Hy
Give U R Device Info .
I'm going to guess it's something along the lines of a Galaxy S. Samsung is the only one to do RFS file format and they stopped around the S2 time period. You need to flash back to stock with the appropriate pit file too and repartition then it might not work still but reflash without the pit and repartition checked. It really does help to state what phone for a variety of reasons though so someone can provide more detailed instructions. This was due to needing to change the partition layout to MTD for CM roms. It's not CM's fault Samsung used a stupid file system that never caught on.
