Anyone experiencing lag? - T-Mobile HTC One (M7)

I'm actually experiencing lag when moving around on a web page sometimes. Even texting with HTC keyboard. However, I downloaded the 2.2 keyboard and its better... Seems like screen accuracy is a little off sometimes too. Anyone experiencing this? With or without power saver off? Thanks.

99.9% of the time it's flawless. My iPhone 5 lags too.
So does my $2799 retina MBP.
It's fine if your One stutters every once in awhile. Relax. It's flawless most of the time. Blame every OS because they all do it occasionally.
And use the Google AOSP keyboard that was released yesterday. Bliss.

Only lag I've gotten period on this phone is when messing around with the HTC browser haha.

it`s necessary

I usually run on energy save mode. I have very little lag even with things running in that mode.

Everything is working like it should here, gotta understand this is a mobile device. There will be some issues, nothing to be alarmed about.

This is an amazing phone, I love how fluid mine is but sadly I have to return mine in for an exchange that cost $50 for restock fee cuz mine caught a noticeable scratch idk how but this will be the first time I get a screen protector

but I am running a custom rom so I blame it on that lol

Coming from a Nexus 4 running ParanoidAndroid and Franco's kernel, the HTC One running stock ROM is a lag-fest!!!! I often have to wait a good second or two after touch the icon for the app to appear, and simple games like Bejeweled Blitz and Candy Crush Saga took forever to load. Temple Run 2 would occasionally stutter.
I was baffled!!! On paper this phone is supposed to be faster than the Nexus 4 -- could the 1080p display cause that much of a hit in performance? I even installed the Bulletproof to try improve things but only the battery life gets better.
Solution: I flashed Android Revolution HD 10.2 ---> the phone runs smoothly like butter now!

If you do that, you lose WiFi calling, correct?

I think it was something with 4.1.2. I used an app called Skout on the stock rom that came with the phone and the lag was unbearable, so much so i was going to return the phone, but now i have a dent in it so i'm stuck with it lol. I installed the 4.2.2 roms and the performance is way better, not Nexus 4 smooth, but definitely an improvement. I cannot wait until the GE HTC One is released and we have a solid stock Android rom that is supported, i don't mind stock, only bad thing is no remote control app and other things. I really hope 4.3 brings even more performance to Android, because these phones are way to powerful to have "noticeable" lag.

Unfortunately yes... I live in Seattle and T-Mobile's coverage here is rock-solid so I've never found myself needing that feature. It seems you just have to pick your poison.
But honestly, I'd pick great performance over Wifi calling anytime -- you'd always have to put up with constant mediocre performance in exchange for those occasions when you're in areas with spotty cell signal,

If I put international htc rom on my tmobile version, is the only thing I lose wifi calling?

Well technically you will also lose all of the T-Mobile crapwares but these can be reinstalled easily from the Play Store. The only thing that you can't get back is the Wifi Calling.

No lag, best android that I have

Had a Galaxy Note 2 which had 0 lag and "down graded" to a Galaxy S 4 which stutters way to often. I returned the Galaxy S 4 today and picked up a HTC One because I heard they fixed the back button which they did and it feels flawless compared to the Galaxy S 4. I prefer running on stock 99.9% of the time but on the Galaxy S 4 I was required to run the Google Edition rom to actually have a good experience with the phone.
So far with the first hour of owning the HTC One I learned the blink feed is actually useful because I rarely watch the news or read the paper. I can have all the news I want appear right in front of me.

Had a great experience so far using the elementalx kernel available in the international htc one forums.

Through my own expirience, Ive had lag on all Android Platform phones, but on the HTC One its usually flawless but there is like 1% of the time where the phone would choke a bit and have occasional lag.

Performance not as great as I expected

Hey all!! Recently purchased this wonderful phone, and am loving it. One thing that kind of bothers me is the performance. Certain games that I run on my OG Evo are crap, but on the new LTE, it's great. HOWEVER, it's not as great as I thought it would be. An example would be "Blood and Glory." My buddy has a SG2, and it's pretty smooth on that, but on my LTE, it doesn't seem as smooth, and gets choppy sometimes. Is it because Sense is bogging the system down?
Am I the only one with this problem? Or am I just being overly critical?
I'm rooted, and running Flex's Stock Rom + Ultimate dual cpu mod.
Any input would be much appreciated, because this is bothering me!
I would guess it's either a software fix they'll do soon or Sense, it seems to take a lot of processes/RAM, so it could be a culprit. Not sure, try a more barebones one and see how well it works compared. Could always nandroid back easily.

I think you're just paranoid...
Everyone that is a smarphone owner is always hypercritical of their new device when they first get it. I still have my OG Epic and occasionally play with ROMs with it because of the Hardware keyboard+gamergrip, and i realize how much smoother the EvoLTE is compared to a 2 year old device. Yes there are some times where i have many apps running and hit menu but sense has to restart, but all in all, it's a helluva lot faster phone than any device on the Sprint market as of now.
Give it some time and let the Devs do their thing. SG2 has been out for quite longer than the EvoLTE; they have many more optimizations and tweaks than we do.
I compared Tiny Tower on my Epic Touch to the EVO LTE and i think the Epic Touch is smoother.
But since they are different manufactures, different resolutions and densities its not a fair comparison. I just know in past devices when im comparing stuff, games seem to flow better on Sammy devices.
Overall im still happy with my EVO LTE. Cant wait for LTE to go live where im at.
No you are definitely not paranoid. The phone does lag a bit. I've noticed this after I use many apps or if I don't restart the phone for some time. I've tried a couple of different roms like Fresh, Viper and Charmeleon and they all have some UI lag after a while...I think we just have to wait for HTC to release an update for sense.
It's not a hardware issue. The app simply isn't optimized for our software. It's an issue for the app dev of a given app to figure out.
This phone handles 1080p content np, nova 3 without issue, and I have yet to feel it be anything but fast with apps/interface

This was one of my main reason with this phone right out the box. At first I thought of rooting right away and hoping the custom rom would have a much better handling to this UI lag but your post stated the oppisite.
Man I really love this phone but lag such as multitasking, games like Temple Run, and the ability to not play HD (720p or 1080p) directly from the browser in desktop mode is very frustrating to ME. I'm hoping a lot of this has to do with stinking Sense UI and not the S4 itself. If the S4 itself to blame then the Samsung GS3 will probably won't be silky smooth either right out the box.

Nah ah, try switching to 720p or 1080p on youtube video "DIRECTLY" from you browser (not youtube app) in desktop mode, then come back to me. Again, I don't know if it's this phone or the S4 inside this phone that struggling, cause that's the case the Samsung GS3 US variant won't be good either due to the same S4 being used.
I haven't noticed any lag but what does irritate me is the Damn multitasking. What's the point of opening more than 1 tab when 2 sec later you have to reload the whole tab all over again. I don't see how HTC dropped the ball on that one when the OG and 3D handled multitasking so perfectly
The LTEVO says hello!
Hmm I have no real lag issues but I also don't use many apps at all but the performance is solid just sense once again Boggs it down I think once the dev scene picks up many of these issues will go away I was almost convinced to get the s3 us ver but I love the look of this phone ..

Dunno if you've rooted or plan to, but I found out that it isn't a solely a memory issue, but more of one with the sense multitasking "app". If you run the Charmeleon ROM and switch to the native ICS switcher.. Your apps never do that refresh nonsense

Yeah, all of your guys concerns are what I've been thinking about too... I'm HOPING that HTC or app devs try to optimize software for our hardware with the programs that are out now...
I WAS expecting blazing speeds and crazy performance, but I haven't been "WOWED" yet.
Yeah, the Evo LTE just came out about a week ago, so I'm still giving it a chance.... 2 months TOPS!!!!!
If there aren't any improvements that REALLY "WOW" me, then I'll be really disappointed that I stayed loyal to HTC, instead of going with the SG3
If I defected over to Sammy it would only be for a nexus device but rumors are the next nexus is going to be made by multiple people... We will see how that works out or if its true.

User experiences with the Note, currently a GSIII user

Hi all, I am a member here coming from an AT&T Galaxy S3. I just ordered a Galaxy Note an hour ago and wanted to know some hands on user experiences? I have looked at youtube videos and they just don't seem to do the trick. I would like to know if they are really smooth and if they have good functionality, battery life, and if the development is good?
With the GSM SIII's losing IMEI's left and right, and all the bugs already, I am wondering how good the note really is.
I am not really looking for a 'persuasion' opinion because I will have both devices here before too long when the note gets here. I just want to know everyones experience and if the phone is laggy or anything, or any known bugs.
Any help is greatly appreciated and I will thank all members that give me some feedback.
Thanks!
A Note in tablet mode is the greatest thing since sliced bread.
OCing can take care of lagging which there is a bit of. S3 apps can be put on the note, so the same functionality is there. S-Pen makes working on RDP/VNC,etc really easy (IT guy).
The only thing i wish the Note had was the LED notification like on the S3.
Hotwires CM10 has blinking LED notifications built in, which takes care of my LED needs.
to my understanding there isn't an LED light though, which with my SIII it is real buggy anyways... As long as it runs smooth and is nice and functional I think I will enjoy it.
How easy is it to root? Any IMEI losing issues like with the S3?
Also, Battery life?
As long as it is a solid phone I think I may choose this over the SIII and keep the SIII as a backup. :/
Thanked already!

How bad is the lag? I am really worried about that.
and rooting? Is it easy for this device? I have rooted many devices, but some are real easy to brick compared to others.
rooting is a cake walk.
Lag is not an issue IMO with most roms I have tried and with CM9 it's been smooth as glass.

I am wondering if with just stock is going to be crazy lag. The good thing is I can always revert back to this gsiii if all goes bad and I don't have a great experience.

I never had much lag with stock, but there was some. Since I went to CM9, the Note has been just about perfect. There are a few issues I have with functionality (I like the screen to light up so I can read incoming sms with the notification, for instance), but overall, I'm very happy with my Note. I see no reason I'll be ditching it before my contract is up, and then it'll just be for the new, shiny hardware Samsung drops that year.
Sent from my SAMSUNG-SGH-I717 using xda app-developers app
Multitasking is going to be a lot worse because there is much less ram in the note. Even on stock ICS there is not much lag.
My best speed (anti-lag) rom has been gingerbread. and I know everybody scoffs at it, but to be honest, once the device is rooted, and the stock rom is bebloated, it runs perfect.
And without any voltage changes or overclock either.
If you want the note to snap on screen transitions, just run a rooted stripped down GB stock rom, load up the spare parts plus app, and set windows and screen animations to off, and you'll love it...IMHO ( and for the extra speed, run zeam launcher with the 3 home screens setup)
Dont get me wrong...ICS has it's merits. but for my particular device, it's either a stripped GB rom, or the official stripped down UCLE2 rom that I prefer....
Hope this helped you a little bit.....g
My brother had an s3 and I have a note, both phones are awesome when I use both I can't really tell a difference in speed. I do like the notes screen size more it doesn't bother me. He doesn't really use custom roms or anything so I couldn't compare those but there are some really good ones for the note
Sent from my SAMSUNG-SGH-I717 using xda premium
I have used a few custom roms since May. Using Bell stock at the moment and lag is not a problem, and all of them performed the same to me.

I guess I just don't want a sluggish device and I want the screen to look crisp. Is the root method just odin like usual?
Also, I know my GSIII has an amazing screen. Does the note have a comparable screen as far as crispness?
The display on the Note is beautiful. Big bright and sharp. Even at half brightness it looks awesome.
I had pretty bad lag with the stock TELUS GB ROM. All other ROMs have been much faster including the stock ATT GB ROM. Not sure why. Paranoid Android and CM9 ROMs are silky smooth. King Kang ROM too.
IMO it comes down to which screen size you prefer and which one feels better in your hand.
I'm a confessed flashaholic, and came from the Galaxy Nexus, which I ran many, many different rom/kernel variations. I love my note. After rooting(simple) and removing bloat, I ran stock gb for a long time, it just worked really well. Functionality is good, screen is excellent, development is increasing all the time, hardware is good. I personally have zero issues with the phone, only issues I have are from my insistence on running custom roms. If the size is not an issue, I recommend it 100%.
I have big hands so I think size won't be a problem... Jesus this thread is getting weird... lol.
But for real, I want the bigger phone. I think as long as I can text great and surf the web and check facebook and XDA then I should be good.
I don't really use my phones for games or any of that ish

How smooth is it?

Hello guys a question about the performance of the phone
Is there any FRAMEDROP or STUTTERING when moving around the UI especialliy when OPENING and CLOSING APPS if you could can, can you close and open google maps and tell me if it lag or fps drop?
Being extremely OCD about android lag as i have return and sold various device such as the tab 10.1, NOTE 1, and the nexus 10 because the lagginess and stuttering when opening apps drove me CRAZY.
Now pardon me if i sound rude but can your eyes notice the difference between 30 fps and 60fps? I think a lot of people claiming that their device has no LAG simply cannot TELL what LAG even is and their eyes are untrained therefore wrongfully stating that their device is “smooth” all the time.
I do see lag in maps. No device is perfect, even my iphone 5 chugged sometimes.

Oh yea INSIDE of maps is fine idc about that im talking about when OPENING and CLOSING the map app.
There is pretty significant lag throughout the UI. The Nexus 4 w/ the same specs, minus Sense UI and the 1080p screen, is much smoother. The biggest issue for me in day to day use is scrolling left and right through GTalk sessions. It lags BAD. But that's the only thing that really bothers me at this point in my day to day use.
But the screen makes up for it.
Opening and closing apps is pretty darn smooth, especially once the apps are cached in the ram.
I dont notice any lag. But I use Nova Launcher prime and not Sense.
Very fast launcher.

Honestly I haven't seen this at all. Might be a device per device issue. I have no lag that I can tell. It's really smooth and responsive. Then again I've never used a Nexus 4 so maybe it's smoother. I still wouldn't use the word lag.
This topic would be again subjective just like "Hows the battery"
However, I have been an owner of these devices in past 3 months -
iPhone 5, iPad Mini, Xperia V, One X+, Galaxy S3, Note 2, Butterfly
A lag will almost always be present in all devices at some time or the other. However, I see where you are coming from. So to answer your question, NO, there is no lag.
I am using Virtuous ROM (even Stock ROM for the matter) with Power Saving On (for CPU) and the only times I have seen lag -
1. After reboot when you go one homescreen to another the widget needs to reload data atleast once.
2. When entering app tray after reboot or app install, it refreshes the app list.
In normal use and opening/closing apps, there is no lag and YES, I can differentiate between 30/60 fps. Example at hand, try scrolling contacts/tones in Whatsapp on a S3 and Butterfly/DNA

Thank you for this man really appreciate it, People on the nexus 10 forum was like NO NO LAG AT ALL!!! Lo and behold i bought it and about to return it after a week So you think the xperia z would be a pretty good bet for a lagless experience? Considering the hardware is similar.
Sense 4+ does have lag regardless what people say. It is there throughout phone UI. Be it settings, desktop or whatever.
However there is no unusual delay in opening or closing apps. And general performance is great in apps.
But if you are coming from Nexus 4, or Note 2, yeah this phone lacks that buttery smooth feel by default.
However with De-sensed Viper with LK kernel and Nova Launcher prime with fast animation = as close as it gets to Nexus 4 UI experience. It is significantly smoother to use. AOSP contacts is blazing fast as it should be.
Note 2 is buttery smooth ? ... Simple test ... Scroll a long list of items like ringtones on both Samsung phones and HTC side by side ... Let me know how it goes (actually don't since I have already played with them and know the answer)

You can take my opinion with a grain of salt if you want to, but I am probably in the top tier of ocd people when it comes to ui lag or slowness. I simply won't put up with it.
I owned the DNA and now the Note 2. Don't let anyone here fool you, the DNA is quite sluggish in homescreen scrolling. To the point that it was one of the main reasons that I got rid of the phone.
There isn't really a ton of lag, although there is a little bit. But HTC for some reason chose to slow down the animations so the scrolling feels heavy. I absolutely hated it.
My personal opinion and conclusion is that they did it to mask how heavy Sense is. Because I had a Rezound and the animations on that phone were much faster but it was a complete lag and stutter fest.
And I always laugh at the people who brush it under the rug and just say to run Nova and you will be fine. If you are going to do that, why not buy a phone with better battery life and expandable storage? Because Nova will make any current gen android device run like butter. I personally buy a phone for the stock launcher and software that it has.
Either way, good luck with your decision!
Sent from my SCH-I605 using xda premium
For some reason unknown to me and I think many devs Samsung doesnt utilize hardware rendering to the fullest and ends up with jerkiness in all apps ... Htc does and its very much apparent when scrolling in even 3rd party apps ... I think in the end you need to play with both phones for few minutes to see the difference and make a decision

Galaxy s4 two months later. Thoughts?

For those of you who have had the phone for the full run since the Verizon release date, how have your opinions improved, worsened, or remained the same about the galaxy s4?
I have had the phone for almost a month now and been through a few roms and have been pleased for the most part. I have gripes with the keyboard and the way the camera is great sometimes and totally worse at others.
I'd say after this long, I am happy with my purchase, but not so happy to the point where I'm not looking at upcoming phones later this year as a possible replacement.
Thoughts after two months?

I came from an S3 so I wasn't expecting a whole new experience but I love my S4. The screen is amazing and it's snappy as hell. No lag. I got the 32 GB one and the fastest 64 GB SD card I could find. Unfortunately I got the update so no rom flashing for me. Oh well, I love it the way it is. I was going to wait for the HTC One but I'm happy with my purchase. I also get way better signal too. When I had my S3 I would always get 3G at work but I always have 4G on my S4. My average battery life is 18H, 49M according to GSAM.

I love my GS4. its perfect for me. Does more then i need. If there was no root i would have been happy with it the way it was but with root and CleanROM installed, i basicly can't run it out of juice in a day, besides, charging is soooo fast anyway. I was also one that never had lag even on stock unrooted so with what i have now being rooted, its even snappier then it was originally. The phone is a beast. Signal is always strong screen is amazing and its the perfect screen size.
Honestly it is an amazing device.. I had it on clean rom for weeks and loved it.. just flashed CM10.1... I am blown away by the lightning fast speed.
I had the s3 as well before this. I've had mine since launch day and love it. I do have typing issues with the keyboard sometimes. Guess I sbould look for a good replacement. I wish it had more haptic feedback though. Doesnt hardly feel like im typing on a touch screen, it's too smooth to the touch. I had htc phones before this and rooting this s4 was 50 times easier.

Does swiftkey let you use the Google speech engine for voice to text? I have Swype+Dragon and I find the Google engine better in understanding my accent
I came from a droidx to the s4 so i am just amazed at what this phone can do. I am new to ROMs also so i am messing with this phone all day long.....
Coming from a locked down bionic, the lokid S4 is like a wet dream. ... Although, when comparing radios/signal reception, moto dominates Samsung. ..
Also Came from a locked down Bionic. After the JB upgrade that phone turned into hot garbage. The S4 is light years better!!!

Yea it lets you use Google voice to text. SwiftKey also has SwiftKey Flow which is like Swype. SwiftKey has the best predictions of all keywords I've tried because it constantly learns what you type. It looks at your Facebook posts, Google posts and by past texts if you authorize it.

I came from a 32gb S3 (white) to a 32gb S4 (black).
For me, it's slightly faster, the screen is noticeably better and the battery life (which was already excellent on my s3) is slightly better.
I actually like the "flat" feel of the edges compared to the S3. The camera is phenomenal.
Overall, it's a nice evolutionary step up.
Love it
Download Jelly Bean Keyboard from the dev VLLWP. It fixed every issue I had with the keyboard and more. It's free and there is little to no reason to get the paid version.
After fixing the keyboard, I have zero complaints about the phone. My battery life suffered after the update a bit but now seems to be back to normal which for this phone means I can go two days of light use with my settings the way the are before I plug it in. The only thing I have noticed is that my battery gets eaten up if I am using runkeeper and listening to music. I think it is the combo of GPS and headphones. I'll find a fix eventually. REALLY looking forward to android 5.0 on it this Fall!
I like it a lot more now that the GPS glitches in CM10.1 were resolved.
Disclaimer: I came from a Galaxy Nexus.
Waiting to see how solid the post bootloader lockdown ROMs are. The devs will eventually backport everything that does not require a firmware upgrade. But they will effectively be a port-rebase hybrid since we will not be able to run the stock ROM anymore. 4.3 will be the big test. If the moto x is unlocked like a sort of nexus device, swappa here I come.

Should I go S4?
Hey guys, it's been a while for me since I've last posted here. Pretty much I'm curious if I should buy the S4? I obviously want the latest and greatest but at the same token, i don't want TouchWiz. It would seem the answer is to just root and flash CyanogenMod but now I'm curious if Cyanogen allows for all features, like 4g & WiFi and full camera features like 1080p recording, to be used without problem. I remember, with my original EVO 4G, I mostly ran Cyanogen but 4g didn't work for a long time and there were a couple of other things that were a problem like 1080p video recording.
Hopefully you get a sense of my question: Can I buy the S4, flash CyanogenMod and use all features of the phone? (I know the eyeball and wave sensors most likely won't work...)
Side note: I got pretty turned off to Android with the purchase of the EVO 3D (my fault, I know). So turned off in fact that the EVO 3D no longer looks like a phone. I am soo tempted to just go iPhone so I don't have to worry about this stuff anymore... I just want ANDROID or bust!
I came from the gnex. Absolutely love this thing. Obviously battery life is 10 times better. I'm in casinos all the time and I almost always have 4g.
My biggest gripe is the lack of development, not that it's the phone's fault

I'm curious how you mean lack of development? You have CleanROM (stopped at 1.6.5) HyberDrive, Slim Beans, Carbon, CM10.1, Liquid Smooth, Synergy, Eclipse, Google Edition port, Chameleon, PAC-man and a few others im not thinking of im sure.
I can't see a lack of development.
I am coming from the bionic. I actually liked the bionic. I love my s4 except the new update puts a huge damper on things. I was fortunate to have root still and twrp. I am running brands me7 ota so I don't have wi-fi. Once that is fixed it will be perfect for me. I so miss Motorola skin. This is my first Samsung.
Anyone having a problem with screen burn in?
Hey, so I was at best buy the other day looking at the S4 and noticed they all had various degrees of screen burn in. Now, I know these devices are on all day long but I'm curious, do any of you, under normal use, have this problem? There were numbers burnt into the screen from the clock and the top info bar...

[Q] any input lag?

I really want to buy this phone but I see just a little input lag throughout the UI when I watch videos. I'm not telling about choppy FPS, I'm talking about the time it takes for the screen to react to your touch. I wanted to know if there is any screen input lag when it comes to gaming on the phone. I currently have the galaxy note II and the input lag is absurd, so I definitely do not want to get another phone like that. I'd be grateful for any response you guys could give me, thanks.
Got my phone today and installed a few games including some fps games. No input lag noticed. Funny the only lag I have seen are in the UI like setting or LG's own apps. Even then it is so fast the lag doesn't feel as much as lag as a rendering bug. Something that will probably be fixed soon..

Any answer you get is going to depend on the person's prior device. I haven't tried any games, but just navigating around the phone it feels like it has slight input lag when compared to the M8 and Droid Maxx, and even the S5. It's not bad, but it feels like it's there to me (and yes I have all of those right now :/)
There's definitely some input lag..unfortunately

is that input lag limited to the LG launcher/UI, or does it persist when using lighter third-party launchers? Thanks for any info. Coming from a Droid Razr Maxx I'm sure it'll be a huge step up no matter what, but I have dreams of a perfectly responsive phone that I find hard to let go of.

Something like Nova helps overall responsiveness, but it's hard to say if it helps the input lag or not.
Facebook is really bad... However the FB app has always sucked
I am coming from a Note 3. Like I said before not a lot of lag. Funny I was thinking of this thread when the last reply came I. I disabled all the Amazon crap except kindle (good off reader). Now it runs smooth as my note. Feels like it should now. Helps with battery also. I have been using the phone intensely for the last three hours switching between apps and all playing music, videos, internet browsing and even running a intensive music visualizer and it has become buttery smooth.
Funny one thing over looked in most reviews is the sound quality. Even with one speaker on the back the sound is very good. LG really put a lot of work into the phone.
I think it was Verizon's push to put that Amazon crap on all their phones that hurts it. First thing I would do after getting any phone from Verizon is disable it.

I definitely noticed input lags when playing Bejeweled Blitz. No rhyme or reason.
Update:
Got rid of the lag by freezing a bunch of bloatware apps.
Update 2:
I have to press harder on the screen in order for the game to respond sometimes. Not the light touch, but really press and slide in order for the gems to move in the correct direction. It seems to happen more often on the middle left and slightly above that area of the phone.
I have noticed that some games on 1080p devices seem to have a harder time registering where the touch is. Using a stylist I have no issues on any of the devices. Seems to be that the software can not decide where you touch and just ignores it. Happens in Chrome when not zoomed in sometimes also. On all those devices. Not just the G3.
Note 3, Asus TF701t, LG G3 all had this issue. It also happens only on the more poorly written programs. Very few higher end games had any problems.
Hope this helps.
I don't have any input lag really on my G3. I've uninstalled everything I can think of using TiBu after I ran the phone with them frozen for a few days... Plus I turned Animation Scales down to 0 In Dev Options.. .5 I didn't notice any lag either though.
I use Nova and I Swype with a themed Android L keyboard. Smooth!!!

I've had my Verizon G3 a week now, and I've not had any noticeable lag on anything; I'm using Nova, turned down animations to 0.5x, and am stock and rooted. I use the Android L slide animations in Nova as well, and everything is quick and snappy. My G2 was great, but with a custom ROM, Xposed module, and a few other tweaks, I noticed that I would get some input lag, especially when hitting the "recents" key - it would literally pause for 2-3 seconds and then bring up my list of open apps. And I didn't have like 22 open running apps either. I would get SystemUI force closes periodically; think it was just Xposed not playing nice with my ROM (for some inexplicable reason)
Anywho, my G3 is by far and away the snappiest most responsive device I've had. The only thing that gave me input lag was putting the tempered glass screenie on...for the first few days I had to mash everything to get it to work. Now that its settled on things are back to normal.

after searching, and reading numerous threads, i found @jntdroid almost sums up my question in a statement.
any perceived lag is relevant to your previous devices.
my current/previous DD is my G2, running slim rom (for many months, so i dont have reference to kk stock).
my G3 (got today new from swappa) seems (no doubt) way less responsive than the G2.
can anyone provide any more exact reference to help me decide if i should call this a lemon or accept it as common.
thanks for any input!!

It's common from every bit of my experiences around the g3, my own or the few around me that other people own. Granted there are a few who say they don't experience lag at all ans blast me for mentioning it (I call b.s.).
Couple that with the lack features, removal of features/options..and it's disappointing. LG kind of choked IMO. I'll be moving on to the Note 4.
I'm coming from a stock g2 and it is noticeable. It just lags throughout the launcher. I haven't tried another because I actually like the features on the stock one. Just hoping they come up with an update to fix.
