I'm on my 2nd EVO 3d I love it but having the same problem. Both times I got Amazon app store downloaded then installed plus I installed a few of my free apps I got. It downloads fine but now once I try to install anything it won't let me select install just the cancel button. It's not grayed out or nothing. I have the non market box checked obviously cuz I installed other stuff. Both phones worked fine for about 2 days then stopped. My first once i had tunein radio installed and deleted it and try to reinstall it just to see and nope couldn't get it. Any help I would really appreciate it

I also have this problem using the amazon appstore, i can download them but cant install them
I figured out a solution but it sucks. I googled it and someone with a Nexus S was having the same problem and he eventually found out that Screen Filter was the cause. I had it downloaded on both phones I deleted it last night and now I can install non market apps wallpaper anything. Kinda sucks and annoying now without the Screen Filter app tho that that the bottom 4 lights are always on now

Thanks for the find and update, yeah i loved using the screen filter app, hopefully once we have root, the buttons can be dimmed
I have recently been getting FCs from the Market app. I'm on stock 2. 1 ROM.
I used the uninstall updates button from the manage apps section of settings with no effect.
It takes 5-10 seconds to a force close, no dialogue box, nothing.
Any options are welcome, but I don't went to resort to a hard reset unless it is the only option.
Thanks in advance.

Only for 2.2 up, I'm stock 2.1
Can someone post their default vendor.apk so I can just reinstall it that way?
*Edit just tried flashing the new market anyway, doesn't show up anywhere.

has anybody else had this issue since rooting and s-off? If so what is the fix? It was there at first, then I replaced my messages quick launch with gosms, and now my phone app is missing. It also is missing from the app list. I know this was an issue for some due to an its when the phone first launched, but have not seen anybody else talking about this issue.

Just reboot. But make sure quickboot isnt check under system/power
Install the OTA update. Don't worry, you won't lose root.
Ok, thanks ill try reboot first, then ota.

Thanks button pushed! I needed the ota, the reboot didnt help.
Hey guys,
Is anyone else having problems sideloading apps on the Amaze, even with unknown sources checked? Every time I try to install anything, I can only click "cancel" and not "install". It's quite frustrating. Thanks.

Interesting.
What apps are you trying to install?
Perhaps they're corrupted?
Try an adb push.
adb push appname.apk /data/app/
You may have to reboot but that might do the trick.
You can also try an apk installer (or manager).
These apps aren't (gasp) protected are they?

Alright, so here's the deal. Did a factory data reset thinking that it wouldn't do anything and it fixed the issue. Weird...

Having this problem now...
I just did a wipe to install beast mod and I am getting it. Wanted to try out Extended controls. 4Shared it and I can cancel but not install.
***EDIT***
Reboot and all is golden~

Don't know if it'l let you push to /data* anyways, instead I would try:
Code:
adb install appname.apk
Having this problem now with stock ROM with latest update and no root. It started all of a sudden. Although rebooting fixes the problem, it does so temporarily. This is also affecting installs from the Amazon App Store. Any ideas?

I have this problem with Amazon apps. I haven't tried anything else from the Market.
Restarting my phone fixes this problem for me but after a day or two it does it again.
I am running completely out of the box stock.
So yeah you're not the only one having this problem.
Possible Solution
Found the solution to my problem. Apparently when it's enabled, the Screen Filter app was preventing the side loading of applications. When I disable Screen Filter, I can side load my apps and the Amazon App Store installs applications normally. I no longer have to reboot. Hope this helps.

That would explain why restarting the phone solved the problem, temporarily.
Until of course we all enabled "Screen Filter" again and then it would stop working.
Testing that now.
I have a similar problem when running Lux Auto Brightness.
Disable Lux, sideload the app, re-enable Lux.

This is actually because of the application "Screen filter"
It's actually a security measure build into Android. It's so an application cannot 'trick' you into installing malicious software. (ie. let's say screen filter was hacked to swap the cancel/install buttons.. to make "cancel" appear as "install" etc)
Basically any app that overlays the entire screen disables the install button from working, for added security.
Thread moved to Q&A.

Is it cool if I revive this rather than making a new thread? :?
Hope so. lol
I just started having this problem tonight.
I often sideload apps and never have a problem..
But tonight I just tried, and suddenly I can no longer click the "Install" button after scrolling through permissions.
I can click cancel fine to go back..
but Install button just won't click.
(and I have no "screen filter" app anywhere.)
Running stock 4.2.2 on my GNex.
Help?!
Edit: Found help here~http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=40074791&postcount=34
Glovebox was the culprit
Every time I try to install an app the page pops up with the cancel and install buttons, when I hit cancel it works but when I hit install nothing happens as if it's not even a button. I install non market apps all the time and I've never had problems so I am lost as to what I'm supposed to do but it's really annoying and I need to fix it.

It'd really be nice if someone could help me out here

Simply push the APK to /data/app and restart your device.
Did you recently install a screen dimmer or any app that overlays a mask on the screen? If you did then disable it first and then try installing whatever apks your trying to install.
No I don't currently I heard about that though, about two months ago I had lux auto brightness installed and had no problem but it's gone now and I've had no problem until now
