Call Recording Software for HTC Desire X ? - HTC Desire X

Any one having any working Two way call recording Software for HTC Desire-X ?

Don't think so.. it is not supported by the kernel (yet?).
On my previous phone I sometimes used one of those recorder apps and just put the phone on speaker.

So, is there any Kernel which Supports Call Recording (TWO WAY) on this Device ??

Nope, like I said, it is not supported.

Dear All,
As you may know HTC has opened kernel source code, so I have a little question.
Can we expect for an appropriate kernel patch or kernel module which will enable two way call record?

any uodates???

Probably not as the last post in this thread was a year ago, I would probably suggest you try some apps out on the market (as newer ones have came out - like this one https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=polis.app.callrecorder&hl=en) Or do a quick search on xda and have a possibility of support from an app dev on an active thread for a recording app

Just give up....When You record something you almost can hear sometinh on this device.

[Android] Want Froyo?

incubus26jc has released a Froyo (Androis 2.2) port for the vogue. This *might* as always work on nike. If you want to give it a shot, here's the original thread:

Btw: The vogue community is way faster than g1, still waiting for froyo to hit my device
i have try it, it works for me, and the same bug, difficult to receive call, no bluetooth, no camera. And with the newest kernel - broken sound. Can you fix that kernel?can we ask dzo to fix kernel for Nike user?is there a way to make bluetooth and camera working?
Yeah, lagloose already informed me about the kernel problems. I don't have much time coding atm, but i gave it a quick shot yesterday.
Havent tested it yet as my touch dual is somewhere in a drawer at home and i have to look for it .
If you want to give it a try and report back if it works:
http://84.23.71.227/kerneloftheday/zImage_audiotest
BTW, nice to hear that the rom is working.
€: In principle it should be possible to get the cam and bt to work. I tried to play around with BT, but I was not able to get it working. Must have missed something...
looks like you are the only one who can compile Nike kernel, just contact dzo, he doesn't have time to did it for Nike user, he asked me to find someone who know some C and linux box to make the kernel. maybe we can asked some tips from him and applied it on Nike kernel?
i think the first thing is to make receiving call working, it seems like when using android, it is difficult to make our phone ring when receiving call and why this made we can't use our phone with android.
hope you can spend sometime for this problem, i'm very appreciated your work for Nike communities... thank you very much
testing...
Mblaser, I tested the kernel, touchscren not work!
OK, I will try again tomorrow. Messed up my kernel autobuild and have to fix it first...
sound working for me, it's back to normal again although in highest volume level it is still too loud and the sound is a little broken, but seems find in lower sound level, maybe a little more adjustment to that will make it better.
and just find another thing, i have my receiving call problem solved even i'm activated vibrate function. for now hope mblaster and maxxd01 can make bluetooth and camera working in zimage kernel.
here is what i did:
1. update newest kernel using mblaster kernel with audio bug free from http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=7021840&postcount=3
2. using phone prioritizer from http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=558822
this will make android a much more usability

Which Call Recorder Works With Neo V

Me too... Anyone tell me call.recorder for unrooted devices outer do i have to root to enable it?
As two way you meant recording voices of both parties in the call right ? try AndroRec works for me.Only thing I don't like is recorded format is amr,so quality is not that great :/
Anyway wonder why Sony Ericsson didn't added a stock recorder, this was available on idk all of their non smart phones ? why not in Android ?
Hello, as i can see you use nightelf, so i suggest you use the CallRecorder 1.1.5, i use it with stock nightelf and this rom, an it's just perfect! Try it!
Isn't for good 2 way record needed a custom kernel which allow that?

I tried nightelf's kernel, stock rom, emann rom, about 5 recording apps and I was able to get mic recording only - no true call recording. I didn't try app you mentioned because it's paid and I don't want to pay just to check if it's working.
Anyone else had luck recording calls in good quality on neo V?

I think root is necessary for that kind of recording. I found recording apps on market that use root but are paid.

I don't know why are so upset. If you are using your phone for 100% legal and ethical reasons then you shouldn't have to worry about those features. I have no problems with people recording me as long as they keep the recordings to themselves. If someone tells me something over the phone I have full right to memorize it and I should have right to archive it. Would you be offended if I wrote down what you said to me over the phone?
As a note I state that I refrine from using this feature in countries where it is illegal.

[Q] Call recording on ICS

Has anyone got two way voice recording working on any of the ICS releases, whether a MOD or a 3rd Party app?
I tried a couple (killer mobile and call recorder) but no luck.
same here. call recorder always worked 100%
Anyone? Still can't find one that will work....aaarrrggg.
I would like to know too. I heard Samsung has removed the necessary call recording libraries in ICS. Hope that is not true.
afaik it will work soon, becuase the ics kernel sources are published today. that will grant many developers to fix everything which cant be fixed before. afaik the call recording problem inlcuded!
Looking forward to this. I loved that on GB. There is a tutorial @ "Original Android Development" category (for GB), maybe someone can start from there to make it work on ICS?

This seems to be an useful thread - http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1482721 - this actually points to a easy way of getting call recording functionality back!
Here's my understanding from the thread. Basically there are three files in /system/lib that are used for call recording API -
libaudioflinger.so
libaudio.so
libaudiopolicy.so
(It's interesting to note that out of these, only the first is there in ICS.)
If we copy the files from 2.3.6, and replace/add the files, there's a good chance that we will get back call recording. Now to get these files... does anybody have the older version, or know how to extract these files from the ROMs?
SOLVED XD - Need to know if it's reliable
Hi,
I have tried "Auto Call Recorder" (free) and seems to work ok.
Without any patchs or modifications on the rom it works ok recording from mic (depending on you it could be wnought or not).
QUESTION 1:
Someone could tell us if this program is realiable? (I mean, if we can trust in it).
Because it have several permissions that I'm not sure it should have or if it's neccesary.
It has 100.000 - 500.000 installations and 4 star score
How can we be sure if this program is not spying us?
RECORDING WITH API (not mic)
Here http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1551353 I have found a thread where there are two ICS libs (different from the GB ones) that sould fix the problem and should allow to record from API, so we could get clear and loud sound.
Files are audio.primary.exynos4.so & audio_policy.exynos4.so in /system/lib/hw
Files can be downloaded from http://www.mediafire.com/?r2wgv821w1uutzd or from http://forum.xda-developers.com/attachment.php?attachmentid=955906&d=1332235902 (both are binary same)
QUESTION 2:
Again reliability.
Someone could tell us if this libs are realiable? (I mean, if we can trust in it).
I have downloaded "ZSLPE" that is supposed to have call recording and this libs are the same that the original in XXLPQ, and are different of the downloable ones that I say before (supposely patched).
If ZSLPE have call recording, why libs are the same that XXLPQ?
Where are this "patched" libs from?
Again the same question, are this "patched" libs reliable?
Perhaps I could be some paranoid, but I don't want a spy on my phone or something worse, and I want to be sure that all my phone conversations (or any other personal data) are not sent to anyone.
Probably is stupid to think that anyone could be interested in my bored conversations, but those are mine...
Greetings
^ Thanks given
For security concern, you may want to try out LBE Privacy Guard... I use it. It can help you to deny certain permissions for any program which you think has no business asking for the permission.
You may question that program more though, as it asks for a lot more permissions in return for the power!
Personally, I would trust the libraries and the auto call recorder - the permissions it asks seem legit. I checked the hack works with Total Recall too, so if you feel more comfortable you could use that.

I installed the two .so files mentioned in this thread into /system/lib/hw -
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1551353&page=2
After a while this worked for me, for both Total Recall and Auto Call Recorder. I have DXLP7 with CFRoot LP7 kernel.
Alternatively, according to the same thread, in ZSLPE call recording works from start.
Let me know if that helps, or I can answer any other questions to get it working for you.

Best Most Stable Rom That Support 2 Way Call Recording?

So trying to set up a friends phone and I'm starting to get extremely frustrated. The goal is for me to set up the phone to be as stable as possible with flawless 2WCR. I personally used Infected Rom without any issues for months when I had the evo3D so that is the rom I suggested. The latest build of Infected R246 records calls flawlessly out of the box. However this build has random reboot issues & gets stuck in a boot loop, I checked other users are having similar problems. Was suggested to try build 218fixed, I tried that random reboots seem to have been cured however now 2WCR doesn't work. CallRecoder detects and sets it to evo3D & 2WCR patch settings by default. It shows it's recording during calls but when the call ends I get a little popup on the bottom saying "Error has occurred while encoding..." Using wav for recording which worked fine on the 246 build I also want the best quality.
So I'm not sure if this error is from the kernel not being patched or what. Kernel links seem to be all dead I'm not sure why I was going to try the Anthrax Kernel. I really rather not use a custom kernel I want it to work out of the box to be as stable as possible. I'm not sure how to correctly patch the kernel that comes with the rom or if the error is even being caused from that.
I need to set this phone up to be as stable as possible with 2WCR at the kernel level. Does anyway have any rom that they use or have tested that 2WCR works well without issues, reboots or bugs? Again just looking for the most stable experience possible while maintaining 2WCR at kernel level. Any suggestions for a good setup would be appreciated. I'm sick of messing with the phone & not sure where to go from here.
Thanks

Mean ROM GB out of the box comes with the Dodova kernel which supports 2WCR. I don't use it, but as far as I know, you just need a two way calling recording app from the Store. As for stability, it has been very stable for me when I have used it.
Doesn't Google Voice have that option? I think if you press 4 during the call it records. I could be wrong though...

Hi
I'd like to ask about 2WCR with Evo 3D GSM. There are some topics about this but all of them are about CDMA (not GSM) or seems to be dead (not supported anymore, dead links, etc). Like that post above about Dodova kernel - wonderful but for CDMA...
Do you know about any kernel that supports 2WCR? I've heard that CyanogenMod has that feature which suggests that it has to be implemented in MiRaGe's kernel but I haven't found any confirmation.
Can you help me?
*) Before you ask... In my country it is perfectly legal to record calls. All you have to do is to inform guy you're talking to at the beginning of call that you're recording conversation. It's useful when talking about business with thousands of details you have to memorize....

I recently was looking for such information.
The answer is simple.
You check yourself if you install Call Recorder in the system, including root.
After you install the application
Settings -> Recording -> Device -> HTC EVO 3D.
The program will default recording by the kernel.
2WCR works fine on ICS Stock ROM with root.

[FAQ] - Known bugs & issues for the HTC ONE X+

Like every other device on the market, the HTC ONE X+ is not perfect, both at device and software levels it is likely that some glitches and hitches will be discovered, this is exactly the place to report those bugs. It is important here to distinguish between a bug from the device and a bug from an XDA ROM developer, the latter case must be reported in the appropriate topic and not here.
Known BUGS:
BUG : Delayed & Multiple texts. This could very be related to the AT&T new LTE network. The thread about this issue is located HERE
SOLUTION : None so far.
BUG : Google Contacts syncing issue. The thread about this issue is located HERE
SOLUTION : None so far
BUG : Distorted Bluetooth audio in calls. The thread about this issue is located HERE
SOLUTION : There is a fix for this issue but only if your phone is rooted, to do so simply apply this patch created by Steve0007. Unfortunately for non-rooted phones, you will have to wait for an official fix from your device provider or HTC.
BUG : Distorted streaming via Bluetooth (A2DP) not the same issue as the audio in calls. The thread about this issue is located HERE and also HERE.
SOLUTION : There is no general fix for this issue at the moment if your phone is stock or with a custom Sense ROM. If you desperately need a fix, only one ROM has fix this issue that I know of, and it's only for the International (ENRC2B) version, have a look at maxwen AOKP 4.2.2's ROM. (Let me know if there is another ROM)
Post your bugs and issues and if they get confirmed frequently I will add them to this list.
Distorted BT audio in calls and music streaming
Camera lens cover scratches very easily
Thanks, Lucky. I replied to the FAQ in this forum with these, but probably better as a separate sticky. Only one I would add is:
Headphone button calls previously called contact, regardless of any apps downloaded to override (like Headset Button Control). As far as I can tell, this is a Sense-wide issue not specific to the HOX+, but HTC hasn't released a fix. I personally would be VERY grateful if someone was able to fix it but haven't found a solution yet.

From my research u must he using a wired headset correct? If so, yes this is HTC HARDWARE as wired headset double tap (forward music track) while enable call feature as the device is only equipped with headphone jack, how ghetto is that? Trust, I live at the gym and always use headsets changing tracks.
Solution, invest in a BLUETOOTH stereo headset! I got the new Jaybirds X and some of the best quality ever and all toggle features work as they should. If using Bluetooth headsets u should not have this issue, only with wired. HTC is a little slow if u haven't noticed, just look at their stocks...

I wouldn't jump to say the google sync is a wide spread problem as I've never heard of it before seeing your thread. Using latest Elegancia Rom and no issues nor in the past. Contacts and everything sync same day/time zero issues.
For people having issues getting newly phone saved contacts synced to Google account simple. Go to dialer, settings, manage contacts, copy all phone to Google, done.
What's wide spread and not listed is the low lighting camera pics this device takes. My iPhone 4 takes better pics than this device, lol! Sure that's a firmware issue though as no one has fixed it, just a patch here and there.

There is another issue with Google sync. I don't know why but HTC removed that your address book gets automatically synced to the Google server. It saves your contacts to the phone but not automatically to your Google account. After a hard reset I lost 10 of my new contacts because I thought they are automatically synced to my Google account. You have manually export you contacts to your Google account.

The contact sync thing is indeed an unsolved issue since, according to my "research," a Sense-wide thing that HTC needs to address.
However, I'm having issues with Contacts not syncing at all through Google. If you go into account settings under Google, the Contacts listing says it hasn't been synced in a month and a half, and the circular arrows are there but not rotating and never leave. If I uncheck and check, they start spinning but just stop and sit there. AFAIK, there is no solution yet to this, but if I'm wrong then by all means, Lucky, leave it off the OP.

So you're saying the problem goes away with bluetooth headsets? I thought the HOX+ was having bluetooth audio issues? Or were those fixed?
Can anyone else confirm that with wireless headphones, the "button calls last contact" is no longer present? I was about to order some Klipsch S4a II's off ebay but will hold off until I get confirmation on this. I'd rather not have to keep bluetooth on since it's a battery drain, but the Call last Contact glitch is supremely annoying.

Stuttering and eventual unresponsiveness when playing music files
The phone creating the maximum amount of home screens and switching my main home screen.
The battery dropping by 40% in one hour on standby.
Becoming unresponsive and taking 40+ seconds to restart with the power button held down
The HTC sense launcher has become unusable.
I really liked this phone at first with its beats audio and everything. It is my first android phone. I purchased after (ultra) extensive daily research. There were hundreds of positive reviews. I was under the assumption that Tegra 3 would be the most brilliant thing to come to gaming. I'm going to wait until 14 days after the release of the galaxy s4 and beg for a warranty replacement. I have major reservations about considering the HTC One after these experiences. Has anybody experienced any of these? (outside of the problems already mentioned)

BUG : Distorted Bluetooth audio in calls and music streaming. The thread about this issue is located HERE
SOLUTION : There is a fix for this issue but only if your phone is rooted, to do so simply apply this patch created by Steve0007. Unfortunately for non-rooted phones, you will have to wait for an official fix from your device provider or HTC.

Actually, Steve's fix is for Bluetooth Call Audio, not for Media streaming. the Media Streaming is still an issue on Sense ROMs (At least on AT&T HOX+). Here's a link to a post from a user on Steve's Elegancia (AT&T/TELUS) ROM's Thread that better explains it:

Just FYI...

I'm on a replacement HTC One X+ sent by AT&T. Currently I'm experiencing the following problems:
Receipt of the aforementioned duplicate texts
Stuttering and eventual unresponsiveness when playing music files
The phone creating the maximum amount of home screens and switching my main home screen.
The battery dropping by 40% in one hour on standby.
Becoming unresponsive and taking 40+ seconds to restart with the power button held down
The HTC sense launcher has become unusable.

I have not experienced the phone switching my home screen or number of screens, but in terms of your unresponsiveness issues, yes I have them all. The worst obviously being the need to restart my phone almost everyday at the exact point when I need it the most. And for some reason the phone becoming unresponsive does not stop the green indicator light from flashing! I've also found that when playing music and the sound starts to stutter, the screen many times will not turn on. Bah! :crying:
If I may, I think lots of the issues that you are all pointing out are related to the at&t model. I've got 2 international one x+ (one belongs to my wife) and they are both impeccable. The bluetooth audio is perfect, actually, I'm coming from a nexus 4 which had horrible bluetooth audio performance. Even syncing Google contacts is flawless. I also really love the camera which is great and outperforms many devices (the nexus 4 camera is inexcusably crap)
I'm not saying that it's a perfect phone, I'm just saying that I think that from what I've read in the past months and in this thread, the at&t model probably suffers from more glitches than the international one. Can anyone confirm what I'm saying?

BUG : Distorted streaming via Bluetooth (A2DP) not the same issue as the audio in calls. The thread about this issue is located HERE and also HERE.
SOLUTION : There is no general fix for this issue at the moment if your phone is stock or with a custom Sense ROM. If you desperately need a fix, only one ROM has fix this issue that I know of, and it's only for the International (ENRC2B) version, have a look at maxwen AOKP 4.2.2's ROM. (Let me know if there is another ROM)

The newly released OTA update for the AT&T version (1.19.502.1 - Full RUU available @ http://www.htc.com/us/support/news.aspx?p_id=529&p_name=htc-one-x-plus-att) Fixed the Bluetooth Call quality issue. Bluetooth audio (media) streaming is still distorted though... Also, I've been using it for 2 days now and so far I haven't experienced the Google Contacts sync issue.
Will update the OP later, thx Joey.
Just trying to do my part

The phone preloaded all of my youtube videos. Everyone knows that videos only preload over wifi and charging. I was out at the gym. I used 1.9gb of data and put me over my limit. Bizarre.
lior's cm 10.1 rom should have maxwens bluetooth ad2p fix integrated too!
i'm still looking for a sense solution, but it seems to be quite hard to make a fix, because sense bluetooth drivers are totally different programmed (maxween told me this).
hopefully there will be a solution soon!
