Thank you, drive thru please.
This morning while I was simply just surfing YouTube I got a prompt asking me to start downloading a firmware update. I accepted and let it download but have no idea what it is. It's a 228 mb file. When it finished downloading nothing happened. Went to the AT&T Software Update menu and it says "Continue Update" but when I hit it nothing happens. Anyone have a clue? Could it be the 1.29 update?

What firmware are you on now? Check settings about phone.

That's what I'm saying. I couldnt even get any info on what the update was. But it's a pretty big file. Hopefully it doesn't prevent the HTC Dev Unlock because we are dealing with AT&T.

The prevention of Dev Unlock is totally on HTC. Unless AT&T is pushing a new Hboot, which MIGHT block it, but it is easier for AT&T to contact HTC and tell them to block the AT&T phones from the procedure.
Yeah you're right I was a little paranoid because I didn't want another HTC One X situation. I rooted and rommed my other One but haven't done this one so I guess I can just test it out and see what happens. And btw, do you know what the current hboot is right now?

I read the other day that a similar update hit the international version and it is believed to be a prep update for 4.2.2
I guess they are breaking the update into parts to make it easier?

Never heard about that. Could be true. Checked the hboot and it has not changed. I've seen literally no changes. It's just kind of puzzling. For such a big file how could it not do anything?

I just did a check for update on my AT&T one, and nothing found.
I am stock rooted though so not sure if that is an issue
Just checked in Iowa on both my ones and nada
Sent from my HTC One using Tapatalk 2
At&T did something similar when the LGOG finally updated to Jellybean. The update wasn't that big, but they rolled out a "patch" via OT then a week later JellyBean.
I'm curious to see if this is real and what it does!

you're special
Hmmmm...... No update in Southeast Texas either....... Maybe we're all not special!
I just really hope it doesn't prevent any of my rooting or romming capabilities. What I will do is try it out after work tonight at let you know if I can still unlock bootloader and root. But I'm just so confused. The installation took FOREVER. Just to see no change. I really hope it's just a prep for 4.2

Ever since I've gotten my one there's been like 3 updates some people have gotten and I havent had a single one. Am I alone here or is there others like me?
Sent from my HTC One using xda app-developers app
I've gotten one update for the media link but nothing else
Sent from my HTC One using xda app-developers app
Besides the media link there hasn't been an update for the AT&T model. There was supposedly an update but one person reported seeing it on xda so probably an accidental quickly pulled release.
Damn it I just want one yet

I don't care if I don't get one now. I'd rather just wait until 4.2.2

Well if your phone is already on v1.26.502.10 then there's nothing to update. What version do you have? And keep in mind there are people on here with the developer edition, which is on a totally different update schedule.
That's what I'm on now. I've been on Samsung phones for like 3-4 years now. Waiting for updates is something I'm used to.
Sent from my HTC One using xda app-developers app
The phone has been available for less than 2 months. Chill.
So since it doesn't matter once a year is up and warranty expires, rooting is no big deal, right?
I'm unrooted, and with t-mobile releasing the 4.3 OTA update soon, I was thinking to either root then, or after warranty expires because I don't expect any further updates beyond 4.3 in the next year.
Any thoughts? I don't wanna flash a ROM, just for Titanium and to remove carrieriq and other bloat. Thanks all.
Sent from my HTC One using xda app-developers app
Rooting is no big deal regardless.

Well, tbh, I'm just not familiar with Android or Android devices, and therefore not fully confident about how to root and all that. A bit broke at the moment so bricking my brand new phone would suck bad.

Hey, the same thing happened to me. I live in Ecuador, had to manually update with RUU. Then only downside is that everything gets erased.
