Razr m flashing to metropcs - Motorola Droid RAZR

Okay So I Have A Razr M From A Friend & I Wanted To Flash It To Metropcs. IHave A Few Questions;
1. If I Flash Do I Have To Pay?
2.How Long Will It Take To Flash?
3. Will I Get All 3G,MMS,Being Able To Call, & Browser?
4. What Are The Risk?
I Just FINALLY Rooted My Razr M Last Night, Thanks In Qdvance !

First , ya are in wrong section because there is separate section for RAZR M . Ya can ask there related any of ya queries .
Second , I'm not aware of MetroPCS but i do believe its related sonthing to windows phone or UI.
Please hit the thanks  if i ever helped ya !!

1-For flashing any ROM ya don't need yo pay because all the devs share there ROMs here in free of cost but still if ya feel there hard work ya can support them by donating them for a beer :beer:atleast
2-It takes usually 5 -10mins but first time boot takes little bit longer time approx 5mins.
3-Everything works in custom ROM but few may be in beta stage so ya need to wait for few more days to get it full working but usually calls, data, sms, mms and camera works in all.( Still I'm saying i do not know what is MetroPCS)
4-There are no risk if ya have backup of ya ROM if not , make the backup and play around razr.
Please hit the thanks  if i ever helped ya !!

[Q] Can I? Use Root/ROM for ATRIX on my Moto XT882

So... I'm dying for someone to tell me if I can use the ATRIX root app to Root my Motorola XT882.
I obviously don't wanna brick it.
hmm
I could just be speaking out my rear end.
However, I would strongly advise against it.
Reasoning:
Specs are similar. Except the radio would probably be incompatible to begin with seeing as it's a dual. Also, doesn't that phone already come with Gingerbread? I'd wait for a community to establish to develop for that phone, don't risk your money with a very slim chance of success. If it's just root your after, i'm sure it will come in due time if its not already been worked out.
G'Luk
No.
Trolling from my ATRIX 4G on probably the crappiest main US carrier
Finally, I found a way to root my MOTO XT882
http://bit.ly/getrootnow
If you go there,, there's a video, and the download tools (something called Petes Motorola Root Tools).
Worked great
Now all I have to do is figure out why I can't get the APK for ClockworkMod recover - if you have it please email it to me
PARKER at FUSIONLIMITED dot COM
This phone doesn't allow Market - and some sites are blocked by the firewall.
OR - if there's some other great way to backup my ROM... I'd take that APK too.

I'll try out the link.... BUT I did finally get ROM Manager 4.4.0.7 installed ... HOWEVER it doesn't have my phone model (MOTO XT882)... on the Confirm Phone Model list it only shows:
Motorola Defy
Motorola Milestone
Motorola Droid X
Motorola Droid X (2nd-init)
Motorola Droid 2
Motorola Droid 2 Global
Motorola Atrix 4G
So ... I'm too afraid (prudent?) to select one at random....
So, I still need ANY way to create NANDROID ROMs from this phone ... so that THEN I can play around with flashing new ROMs onto it.

There's a chance of risk of HARDBRICKING the device with the test, but you can always send your device over warranty if something happens.
YOU can make the difference!

From what we're discovering, it should only be a really strange bootloader, still not giving us possibilities to unlock our devices.
I hope we'll find out more.

and what is this ?

Thank you.
Hello Razr users. I was just wondering if you guys have tried doing something similar to what we did to unlock the Atrix and Project Cheesecake. Im brining this up because if you can do the same thing i strongly believe that you will be able to find an OTA file with an unlockable bootloader. The fact that you guys have an impending ICS update only ups the likelihood that you will be able to find one. Ours for the Atrix was found close to our impending Gingerbread update. Only a suggestion but i suggest trying it. I will link to the Project Cheesecake thread once I dig it up.
EDIT: Here is the original thread for Project Cheesecake - http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1164582
The mod here is going to need porting to work for you guys or it may just not work at all. I cant do it because I have no real relation to the project other then being the guinea pig and coming up with the name nor do i have any dev experience

Hmm. That'd be this, but it's not supposed to actually brick the phone when 'blown', just chuck it into recovery mode. Of course, that was circa Droid X, it may well behave differently now.

Nope, ICS update is only awaiting Google-Motorola Merge... As soon as it happens, they will roll out....

Motorola noob here in need of some guidence!

So I've always had HTC's and recently had a One X, but decided to sell it due to no micro-sd slot. I had a backup phone, Samsung Infuse 4G (which I'm using now as a daily) and read up and learned about it and about rooting it, since it was another world from what I was originally used to. Now, coming to the Razr forums, I find myself even more lost than I was on the Infuse forum coming from HTC! I currently own the latin american (latam) Claro Razr Maxx running ICS out of the box, and what I pretty much want to know is about rooting it, sim-unlocking it and (if possible) flashing a jb ota (ICS doesnt really cut it...).
So, from what I managed to read and understand, I first need and have to use the "EPRJ_EasyRootICS_MultiOS_v1.5" to root it (pretty easy according to the video).
As fas as sim-unlocking, I believe the only method is through eBay, paying for the unlock code and sending in my IMEI? (Always been against sending my IMEI, but well.... I have AT&T, so....)
Finally, ROM's... I read that I can ONLY flash latam (latin american) based ROM's, and I didn't manage to fing a jb ota for the latam version (unless I didn't look hard enough??).
So, what I really want to know is if I'm on the right path or if there's something else I should know about to achieve what I need.
Thanks in advanced!!

ok firstly you can update to jb using RSD lite and the fastboot files. for the firmware you currently have. i'll get you the link in just a moment. secondly sim unlocking is not like it is in samsung but you can just pay to get it unlocked.
root for jb is only available on linux there is a thread in development section on it will get you that as well in a moment, you can flash any roms as long as you dont flash cdma by accident. this can be confirmed by other members if possible but im very very sure 99% sure that you can flash gsm roms doesnt matter what region and we dont have a gsm patch yet for cdma roms yet so when we do you can flash cdma roms with gsm patch as well. ok. now let me get you the links
1) http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2231289
this link above is for firmware you will need to download and use rsd lite version 6.0 to flash to get to jb and remember there is no way back to ics once you do that.
2) http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2246747
this one is for rooting once you have jb. for now its only linux you can sideload ubuntu then delete or wait till they release a windows type method.
good luck

Thanks for this, I'll get to it right away! I don't think I'll miss ICS once I'm on JB
Also, just to be sure... Do I have to root ICS first using EasyICSRoot one-click?

So finally I have free time!! I rooted my XT910 with easyrootics, so now I'm rooted. Now, I have a doubt about RSD Lite... How exactly do I use it? I mean, I connected the phone via USB but it really didn't do anythin to let me know it detected my Maxx... Also, I clicked the button to browse for the firmware .xml.zip file and chose do decompress it (only option available to click) and it seemed to do so fine, but I really don't know what to do from there... There's a button that says "Start" at the top, next to the browse button, but I wasn't sure if that's the next step. What do I do next?
Just install the motorola drivers for ya PC and install it and then connect ya phone to the PC it will automatically install all the appropriate drivers of RAZR maxx now once ya done with installing all the drivers . Switch off ya phone ,press both vol- and vol+ at a time and power botton , it ll take ya to the bootloader jist press vol- down and select fasboot (on 3rd no. ) and press vol+ to selct that .
Now open rsd lite and ya can find ya phone model in it connecting into fastboot mode now decompress the .xml fasboot file and hit the flash rsd lite ll start flashing . Ya cell phone ll restart 2or3 times during flashing
Once ya see done in rsd lute just disconnect ya phone from usb now go into the stock recovery and do full wipe data and caches.
Profit

The link ya attached is not actually firmwares, thats a custom rom made from stock rom . Yeah ya can flash that as well if ya have root privilege.

aaah i see now.. so basically if i wanna flash that rom i gotta do the same thing u said but with the latam firmware stated on the op? cause the one i was gonna flash originally via rsd lite is also latam, but from canada and 4.1.2... i understand it just has to be latam, so im guessing using the one in the rom thread's op instead of the canada one would do the same thing except keep me on ICS as stated on the op so that i can then flash the 4.1.2 rom?
also, just an fyi, my device's build number is 6.7.2-180_SLC-34 and the firmware on the op's build number is 6.7.2-180_SLC-35
also, my firmware configuration is GAS_LA_SPYDERICSCLALALA_P034 and the firmware on the op's is SPYDERICSRETBRLA, both of em LATAM so im guessin i should be ok flashin that firmware on rsd lite?? so many questions... lol im sorry, just tryin to be 100% sure, i rlly dont wanna mess up this phone.. i love it!
EDIT: as of now, im rooted on ics 4.0.4 and have bmm installed... i just booted into the custom recovery and did a full backup... u never know when its gonna come in handy lol

[Q] Flashing rom question about MOTO RAZR MAXX XT910

My device is a HK version of XT910 and has flashed the device for the euro 4.1 rom.
Unfortunately it cannot search any 2g/3g signal and thus i wanna flash back the HK4.0 rom to repair the phone.
I heard it is not possible to do so as the bootloader has been upgraded which cannot be downgraded afterwards.
I know XDAs are one of the best developers for smartphone, so wanna find some support here.
Deep thanks if guidance can be provided for my case.
Unfortunately ya can not degrade to the ICS or GB . Whatever ya heard is correct .
Now if ya having network problem what all ya can do is root ya phone and flash custom roms . I hope some custom roms may help ya finding the network
Please hit the thanks  if i ever helped ya !!
what if he flash HK 4.1 ROM ? anyway he can`t go back so he have to try , wait, he should make full wipe in stock recovery if that's don`t help then flash HK 4.1

yup,:crying:
and without flashing back the HK roms, i can jus go to the street to find some not professionals to help me fix the network problem(coz i dont reli know whether the network problem is caused by flashing an euro rom or is the cell phone's sim card slot problem)
another question- how to uninstall safestrap? i have 2 rom-slot of CM10.1 but deleted the stock rom(official euro 4.1.2).
If i want to flash back the official rom using rsd lite, do i need to delete the partitions first? But as i dont have stock rom now, will there be any problems for me to just flash the rom using the lite?
I am unable to quote the comments and give reply for a particular problem but ya need to root ya RAZR because unless ya don't have super user access ya cant flash any custom Roms. Follow the instruction properly and get root privilege anyhow to flash custom roms . I know its kinda tough to work on linux and root razr but unfortunately there is no one click root method is available sir ..

I believe it is because ya flashed different region jellybean which having different baseband then HK. So only flashing a custom rom can only fix ya problem amd for that ya really need root
Please hit the thanks  if i ever helped ya !!

another question- how to uninstall safestrap? i have 2 rom-slot of CM10.1 but deleted the stock rom(official euro 4.1.2).
If i want to flash back the official rom using rsd lite, do i need to delete the partitions first? But as i dont have stock rom now, will there be any problems for me to just flash the rom using the lite?

Oooops !! I'm sorry if ya already have rooted ya phone then why ya trying to root again lolz .
Come to the point , do not try to uninstall safestrap and delete the slot because ya do not have stock rom on ya phone so if ya delete ya slot 1 then phone ll normally boot to stock and stuck to the bootloops . If it happens then there is only way to fix is flashing fastboot again via rsd lite .
Note : ya ll loose ya root if ya flash it via rsd again and as i have already said rooting from Linux is really tough .
Please hit the thanks  if i ever helped ya !!

XT910 slow and old

Hi guys, I try to write here hoping for a swift and comprehensive reply.
I miss by a little from the modding world, because I was very busy, and I think I lost all "geek mania" by the time of adolescence and post adolescence.
I still have my beautiful razr droid XT910, now comparable to a Pentium 4 in the era of quad (and passes) core.
I'm here looking for advice, a custom rom, I believe, to bring back to the top (I hope) this device.
Obviously I don't use it like a geek and not even use it to play with exorbitant games, but I would not crash occurs often whatsapp and similar, I would like it to become a bit more responsive, as it once was. And maybe with a new version of Android, also aesthetically speaking.
So, as recommended in italian forum, I'm trying to use a l.speed mod, I have installed it just now (and today, for first time I have installed a custom recovery), so today I will test it. (Are welcome tips on what to turn on or off about l speed mod on XT910).
I currently have a 672.180.41.XT910.Retail.en.EU (Android 4.0.4) with root.
I hope you can help me, that you can advise me. Thank you in advance! (and sorry for my little english)

Which custom recovery you installed?
There is a few quite good Kitkat roms,Liquidsmooth,Aosp,CM11 and Lollipop isn't bad also (I'm currently using Liquidsmooth 5.1.1 and I'm happy with it).
If you want to try some Lollipop rom, you'll need Safestrap 3.75 and with it you can also flash Kitkat roms...
Here is some threads with useful links and guides

I would recommend you to read first and to prepare everything if something goes wrong, like to download your stock sbf file,Rsd Lite,Motorola drivers etc...
Btw,with Safestrap you can have more than one working rom at the same time, for example,on stock-your current Ics or Jb rom,on slot 1-Kitkat,on slot 2-Lollipop etc...

Thank u for ur reply. I have installed Clockworkmod Touch 5.8.4.5 , why?
I'd like to avoid to try some roms, therefore I hope in the help of community; I am finding for a rom that have no bug, so a stable rom!
But, I repeat, thank u for ur reply and ur help! Have any advise for me?

My advise would be to deinstall CWM and install Safestrap 3.75,if you don't wont to brick your phone.

I don't think any of the current roms will work with clockwork.

the roms suggested are the best available.
if you want to know more about a rom read the rom's thread, and ask specific questions.
