I finally got this rom installed, it says in the steps that I'm suppose to patch it if on ATT/T-Mobile/GSM Rom. Which is step 6.
"
S-OFF
1. Download v2.0.3 for your device.
2. Reboot into recovery of choice
3. nandroid
4. Factory reset, clear cache, clear dalvik cache, format system
5. Flash v2.0.3
6. Flash patch if on ATT/TMobile/GSM ROM
7. Reboot
8. Boot can take up to ten minutes to complete
"
Where do I download the patch? Couldn't find it in the thread and how do I install it? I installed the rom using TWRP.
Others on T-mobile getting good data speeds? Any tweaks I should do for T-mobile?
As you can see, I'm pretty much a noob. I did search before posting as well but did not find anything. Thanks in advance.

I just came from owning a vibrant (original galaxy s) and i've read multiple rom development threads but was surprised to see that there weren't any precautions listed when flashing a rom. i remember when we flashed roms on the vibrant, we had to:
- flash back to stock between roms
- wait at least 10 minutes after the roms were flashed for the dalvik cache to be rebuilt
- something else im forgetting at the moment (sorry it's almost 4 in the morning here).
do we not have to do this anymore with the sgs 2? is it ok to flash a gingerbread rom over cm7 and start using the phone right away after flashing? Thanks.
I follow my own procedure when I flash new ROMs, most are unnecessary, but I like keeping my phone clean of old stuff.
*IN CUSTOM ROM*
1. Wipe Data
2. Wipe Cache
3. Wipe Dalvik
4. Flash Stock ROM
*STOCK ROM*
5. Install ROM manager from Market
6. Flash CWM Recovery
7. Place .zip of a Custom Rom in internal SD memory
8. Reboot to Recovery
*PROCEDURE*
9. Wipe Data
10. Wipe Cache
11. Wipe Dalvik
12. For CM7.1, flash ROM TWICE, since it uses a new CWM Recovery. For a normal ROM, I install them twice too, just to be sure.
Hi,
I've recently rooted my phone and installed my first ROM - Resurrection Remix - and it's notified my of an update (v3.1.3) and downloaded the zip for me. My question is how do I safely update RR?
When I first installed it I had to perform a number of steps wiping and clearing things before installing from a zip using CWM. Hopefully I don't have to do all of these as I don't want to have to completely reinstall every update, but do I have to do any of them still or do I just install from the zip in CWM without any other steps?

Have you read the first posts of the ROM thread?
Maybe there is a description of how to install the update.
If not, then you can just flash the update zip file in CWM recovery and try to reboot normally.
If everything works fine ... that's it.
If you have issues, boot into recovery, wipe cache and Dalvik cache and reboot normally again.
If that does not help, then you might have to wipe data (do a factory reset) in recovery.
But I think that these steps are not needed as you are already on this custom ROM.
(Usually you only have to do the complete wipe steps when coming from another / stock ROM - and the other way round.)
Good luck !
P.S.: Always create a nandroid backup before flashing. So you are able to "go back" if needed.
I get an error with the viper 1.0.3 rom. Sometimes when i open file explorer the program stops and quit the app. When i open it after that it works oke. I rooted my phone yesterday and put the viper rom + viper repacked kernel on my phone by doing the following steps.
- unlock bootloader and root the phone with the all in one toolkit
-make a twrp recovery with the all in one toolkit.
- make a backup in recovery mode
-install rom in recovery mode
-wipe cache partition in recovery mode
- boot phone and follow the setup wizard
-the phone rebooted a couple of times by itself.
-reboot phone in fastboot and flashed the viper repacked kernel with kernal flasher.
did i do something wrong and how can i fix it/ should i do it?
Was it because i did not Wipe Cache, Dalvik, Factory Reset?
Reflashed the rom again.
Before flashing i wiped the cache partion, wiped dalvik cache and factory reset (user data)
I still get the force close with file explorer
Somebody can help me out? (I can not post in to the viper custom rom topic)
Don´t know why you can´t post in the thread there. But you have to use the special Viper TWRP Recovery in the newest version. Look in the thread, there it´s written.

Oké thanks. Does it really make much difference? Can I just flash the venom recovery with the venom kernel flasher? And after that flash the kernel again? I have now installed a lot of apps and installed nova launcher and created custom icons. Is it possible to save that and my settings of viper?
Please help!! I have searched all over this forum but i still can't find a solution to my problem
First of all, I'm still new in android modding so please forgive me if I don't have sufficient information regarding this question.
I have an Xperia neo, with the original ICS firmware (4.1.B.0.587), locked bootloader, rooted with this method http://talk.sonymobile.com/thread/97327
and I use the CWM Recovery 5.0.2.7-nAa-r2 from this thread http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1364509 because my phone won't go to the recovery mode if I use the x-parts CMW package
I have tried installing the Zelly Cream v1.20 custom rom by following the exact instruction for locked bootloader, which is :
Installation instruction for Zelly Cream FULL ROM

But my phone keeps rebooting (boot loops) so i had to reinstall the original ICS firmware using this method http://talk.sonymobile.com/thread/35239 . After that i re-rooted my phone, restored my nandroid backup, and tried installing Zally Cream v1.20 again. But I still get boot loops and now I'm getting desperate (so in summary i have bricked/boot looped my phone twice trying to install the Zelly Cream) :silly:
So can anyone please help me??
Any answer would be much appreciated. Thank you!!
After flashing stock firmware why did u restored nandroid backup??
Flash stock firmware using flashtool with full wipe
Root it, install cwm
Goto cwm & wipe cache, data, delvik cache, format system, data cache
Now flash the rom
Reboot
Sent from my MT11i using Tapatalk 2
steps i need to follow for flashing rom
1. wipe (delvik, cache, system, data)
2. install rom (after flashing a message appears 'No OS installed)
3. then i press home button, and reboot to recovery.
4. Again install rom (this time without wiping any thing)
5. finally gets new rom.
why m not able to flash rom directly after wiping cache etc.
i have to always flash the rom two times (step 4) to install.
where i am getting it wrong?? help please
previously I was using Pixel experience Rom (decrypted)
edit solution: the issue was because of using older version of TWRP. hence solved.
your issue might be because of system partition not getting mounted properly after the wipe. Hence After wiping, reboot to recovery then flash rom.
