Simple Mobile One S APN Fix - Works - T-Mobile HTC One (M7)

Had to do a factory wipe on my kind-of-stock One S. After that I had no mms or data and kept getting APN error notices. Spent an 2 hours on the phone 3 times with Simple Mobile tech support. They were worthless. Flamed them on FB and after 2 emails was sent the APN data below. Applied it and device works perfectly again. Interesting that the APN is accessing Cingular authentication severs...
APN Name: Straight Talk
APN: att.mvno
MMSC: http://mmsc.cingular.com
MMS Proxy: 66.209.11.33
MMS Port: 80
Save from Menu and select the new APN then power your phone off and on. Worked for me just fine.

Wrong forum. This is for the One not the One S

MMS on wifi (calling)

I have the fully stock ICS ota update and I can not send or receive mms when connected to wifi. If i turn wifi off it re-sends or re-downloads just fine. Is there a fix for this?
I have seen a few other people mention this problem but it doesnt seem to effect everyone and some people report problems either sending or receiving not both. also most posts ive seen talking about it are people with custom roms. I talked to customer care and they said the work around was to send an e-mail instead of a mms.
If I am not mistaken, it must be sent by using the carrier's network. If you wanna send it via WiFi, you open the message app and send it to [email protected].
For example
[email protected]
My girls amaze sends and receives mms while connected to wifi calling. Its the same as being connected to wifi. When sending or receiving mms, it turns mobile data on auomaically while still connected to wifi.

Rogers LTE w/ CM9/AOKP/AOSP ROMS

So I've been struggling to get LTE working with CM9/AOKP/AOSP ROMS.
It seems that our US brothers with ATT don't have a problem.
I have been adding the LTE APN, redoing the APN's provided with these ROMS to the LTE APN to no avail.
It ends up being one typing change that solved my problem. Thanks to a source who found this info on the Skyrocket Forums.
In case you Rogers folks don't have the LTE APN:

APN Protocol: IPv4
Instead of internet + mms, enter "*" <--without the quotes.
When using an APN loading program, ther internet + MMS are options that come up in a menu. It seems that if you manually type them in like this, the modem doesn't like it. The asterisk does the trick.

Also in the Mobile Networks Menu - Don't forget to select LTE/WCDMA/GSM in the Network Mode Menu!
And you can go ahead and delete the other APNS. To do that, just click on it, so it lists its own data, click on the menu button, select delete.

With Rogers:
4G = LTE
H=4G
3G=3G
I did my speedtests, and am indeed now getting full LTE speeds.
Hope this helps!

For Bell I noticed you may get it working if you click the national data roaming option. Give it a reboot and you should see 4G for LTE.

Worked! Thank you so much... now just to get the camera to work properly and I'm set.
Damn, too bad Niagara Region doesn't have LTE and it doesn't look like we are getting it any time soon.
i flashed the ics leak. Before flashing it, I had lte working perfectly on Koodo. Now, the only time my data seems to work is when I am near my home area.
I used to enjoy LTE while in my work area, now I just get a forbidden error on any website i try to go to, speedtest even give a network error.
What is weird, is that firefox works. None of my apps, gmail, or built in web browser will work, but firefox will.
I am thinking I will flash back to stock Rogers and see if that helps. Maybe it was the kernal or radio change?

Post the APN you are getting with the new leak. Maybe we can see what's going on there.
Possibly a modem issue as well as you mentioned.

I ran Appdroid Objection rom and had issues with LTE. When i tried to edit the APN, it was same as above, you can't manually enter the information. Instead, you are given 3 options.

As abulbulia said above. Your situation with Kudo may be similar to my situation with Rogers.
Edit your APN and remove the "internet + MMS" field. Leave it blank, or put in an asterisk. DON'T FORGET TO SAVE after you've made the edit.
The connection should reset right away, watch your connection bars.
Also remember to select LTE/GSM in the Network Mode menu.
When in doubt, give it a reboot after.
Good luck!
Are your 3 options:
DELETE APN
SAVE
DISCARD
If so, click on the actual item you want to edit, and you should be able to edit.

Here is an interesting development... I flashed CyanogenMod 10 on my Sony Xperia arc S phone and the ROM downloaded some settings by itself. There are 3 APNs that comes with this ROM.
1. ATT
2. ATT LTE
3. StraightTalk ATT
StraightTalk was picked by default. I was about to delete them all and enter the settings from here but then I received a text message from a friend... Lo and behold, it was a MMS message with a pic attached and already downloaded. I saw that my WiFi was on, so I turned off the WiFi and asked my friend to send me more pics... They all arrived including a video snippet.... Then I sent one, a larger pic, and he received it. All amazed I fired up the CM10's browser and went to www.testmy.net Did a smarttest and my download was 3.4 Mbps and upload was 577 Kbps... In Phoenix, AZ...
Here are the settings that came with CM10 ...

Does this make any sense now?
That's the settings I use for straight talk, works great. I get 4g just about everywhere here in pa. Mms works great too. I've had straight talk for a year and a half on at&t. Can't complain. If you use alot of cell data they will throttle you slow, but I'm usually close to wifi. I've heard 2GB then they slow you down.

I'm getting 1.3Mbps down and 657 Kbps up. Pretty happy with it.
To the last poster, I thought Straight Talk didn't offer LTE coverage?! If it did, it'd be an even more amazing deal than I had thought it was!
My data works fine. Got like 6mbps this morn but my MMS wont send for ****. Using an Xperia Ion
Pantech Pocket ATT - Straight Talk MMS Settings
The Pantech Pocket needs to have the Straight Talk APN data loaded to TWO locations.
Both Phone APN and Wap APN need to be setup with the Straight Talk APN settings.
Straight Talk makes it sound like you only need to enter the information in one location.
You need to enter the information in Phone APN and Wap APN, if you want MMS to work!
APN name: Straight Talk
APN: att.mvno
Proxy: Straight Talk value
Port: 80
MMSC: Straight Talk value
MMS Proxy: 66.209.11.33
MMS Port: 80
My Pantech Pocket is running flawlessly on Straight Talk now. MMS is 100% functional. The pictures are getting through. I'm getting 5Mbps download speed and 1Mbps upload speed.
My Pantech burst uses only one apn. On gingerbread and ice cream sandwich. I don't run proxy but the rest of the settings I put in and works good. Seems faster tried it. 40kbps proxy vs 4000kbps no proxy. Not sure why. Any ideas?

HOLY SH!T!!!
I just put in the settings Bushmaster78FS posted and I am now on TRUE 4G with ST. 6Mbps!!! ITS FASTER THAN MY WORKS WIFI BY 3X!!!
AMAZING!!! THANKS BUSHMASTER!
Nice
Thanks for the settings you posted Bushmaster.
The settings provided are the first ones I have used and successfully got both data and mms working with only one APN.
Using Samsung Galaxy S III.
1. My phone is unocked and compatible on both AT&T networks and T-Mobile right now i am using an blue AT&T sim and i am thinking to make the move to T-Mobile network. Do you think i can use the same AT&T compatible sim and just change the APN setting to T-Mobile and have it work on the T-Mobile network or so i have to buy a sim?
2. I heard that you can get a free sim by buying a free phone and just using it on your phone but other people say that those sims are lock to those phones. Which is true?
3. I see that Straight talk sells cheap GSM phones and my GF has her phone on T-Mobile so can i buy one of the ST phones and swap it to use on T-Mobile or are the locked and can they be unlocked?
I just switched from the default straight talk apn to the ones bushmaster posted. I went from 1 mbps to 4.8 on a Nexus 4.

Does anyone know the correct APN settings?
I have to go 3 places to do the setups.

# 3 Settings > Network Connectivity > Connection Name > APN : Primary & secondary DNS : Linger Time : Authentication: Username :

Does anyone know the correct values that I need to put in here in order to get my phone to go to the web.
I ha ve voice mail, can call and text. Just not access the web. Can anyone help me here?:

anyone try these settings on S2 i9100 and see speed gains?
APN set, no data.
Hey gang, I've looked far-and-wide and haven't been able to locate a solution so, I throw myself on y'all's mercy and ask if anyone has a clue why I can't receive wireless data on my SGT AT&T GT-P1000.
I received my AT&T Straight Talk SIM the other day and porting the phone over was no issue. However, when I set up the APN I did not immediately reboot the phone due to some confusion about when the service actually transferred. Could this have affected my registration on the ST wireless network?
I've entered the APN settings precisely but, alas, still cannot connect to the wireless data. I really want to move over to ST, not only will it save me $30 a month whilst adding an "unlimited" data plan but, best of all, I'll get to tell AT&T to go pound sand.
Any help would be greatly appreciated.
did you add in the " http://"?
Does anybody now any way to unthrotte. Since we all now that ST throttle after 5gb. I called to ST customers service, they told me that unlimited data is only for navigation.

You said "right out of the box". Did you mean it comes unlocked to be used on GSM carriers?

Yes it is unlocked for GSM carriers. No unlocking process, no code, etc.
Can anyone get mms to work with these settings? I have Internet just fine but can't send mms or receive them
Also PTA doesn't work only phone
Has anyone gotten AT&T MMS to work? I can receive texts, I just can't receive any pics.
does that mean i can use it on other carriers without unlock the device? greatest thankness

I have someone working on an MMS app. Unfortunately they don't have much time these days. We always have MMS problems when flashing devices to Cricket. The app would work the same way as the one for the CDMA carriers.
I tested it with Solavei. It works, but the notifications with JB are off.
So you guys saying I can buy this phone from verizon then put my ATT sim in and everything will work, data ?

You should get talk, text, data (HSPA, I think there are some questions about HSPA+, and LTE is a different band so you won't get that).
You'll have to enter the AT&T APN. I can send with GOsms and the MMSC entered in those settings. Still can't receive. That's why I have a friend working on that.
I usually work on CDMA stuff and have a normal 9/5. That's why I've left the door kind of open here.
can't get ATT APN to work
I am having trouble setting up my DNA to work on ATT data network. I put the micro sim from my iphone 4s in the DNA, changed the APN following op's settings but could never get mobile data connected. Making phone call is fine. Did I do anything wrong? Any input appreciated.

This device had no problem getting on AT&T right out of the box. If someone wants to include APN settings for other carriers in this thread, please feel free to. I'll get it started.
EDIT: Under the condition that this is a repost... Cyber slap the crap out of me.... and delete or merge.

I am able to receive mms with a Tmo sim. I have not changed any apn settings so no data yet.
I was able to just drop in a T-mo card and pick up data.. But as you'll know edge only. With brief moments of HSDPA when I'm assuming I was close enough to a tower that has been upgraded to the 1900 band. Well I decided to go to at&t and grab a sim to see if there was an improvement. I couldn't personally get any of the APN settings to work that were presented in the op and being that I'm new to anything gsm I've got no clue why: Lol.. Could it be a location thing? However I did find a setup that does indeed pickup data for me. Figured I'd share just in case there were others having the same issue. Keep in mind MMS is still hit and miss. I've had them go through out&in but it fails most of the time.

Since we all know there is an issue sending and receiving MMS, I do the bare minimum to get my AT&T SIM to work. I create a new APN and only change 3 lines.....
Under "Name" I put PTA
Under "APN" I put phone
Under "MMS Port" I put 8080 [more secure than port 80]
Leave everything else alone. Don't add your MMSC address, proxy or anything else.
Now save and you are good to go. I get HSDPA. Don't know if it's + or not, but I get the exact same speeds as I normally do with my AT&T phones.

I personally tried exactly as you referenced... I got zilch! Lol.. my device would not grab data until I used the Cingular apn information. As far as the MMS you're exactly right. I tried numerous combination with no result. The few times it did go through seem to be a fluke. I just threw the Cingular apn settings up because I was able to grab data and hopefully it may help someone else that tried the simple apn settings to no avail... I'm going to order a Straight Talk sim this weekend and see how that goes as well. I've got a month prepaid for both T-Mobile and AT&T so I've got a little time to play around with everything.
Side note: man my family and friends thought I was a dork before now I've got a VZW Nex and GSM DNA that I'm carrying around all the time! Lol

I guess my friend is nowhere to be found for the MMS app.
Anyways I think it has something to deal with the APN whitelist in the build.prop. Notice they don't allow for the mms APN. Does someone want to play with that as I don't have another carrier's SIM right now.

I am willing to do whatever you need. I have the DNA Unlocked and Rooted on stock ROM. I have a valid AT&T and T-Mobile SIM card. However, I am coming from 5 years of iPhone hacking, so I would need to be handled with kid gloves.
Just let me know what you need done, or point me to a tutorial thread.

[Q] Kit Kat MMS problems

Anyone else got a MMS problem on OmniROM Android 4.4.2?
I have tried different APN settings but results it "Sending..." message on the Messaging app when i try someone a picture message but they can send me pictures in Messaging
My current APN:
Name: Straght Talk ATT
APN: wap.tracfone
Proxy: Not set
Port: 80
Username: Not set
Password: Not set
Server: Not set
MMSC: http://mmsc-cingular.com
MMS: proxy.mvno.tracfone
MMS Port: 80
MCC: 310
MNC: 410
Authentication type: Not set
APN type: default,supl,mms
APN protocol: IPv4
APN roaming protocol: IPv4
APN enable/disable: APN enabled (only APN in my list)
Bearer: Unspecified
MVNO type: None
MVNO value: Not set
now i have tried Port: 80 or none and MMS: proxy.mvno.tracfone or mms2.tracfone.com or mms3.tracfone.com or att2.tracfone.com but none of them let me send a picture at all. this all worked on CM 10.1.3 and Biftor before but they both was Jelly Bean.
Please help.
In comparison to mine, it looks like your APN's are wrong.
First, the mmsc should be as you have it, but remove the dash (-) and replace it with a full stop (.).
Second, your MMS proxy should be 66.209.11.33
Remember to reboot once you've tried this.

I switched my MMSC and MMS to your settings and still getting "Sending..."
I do have Mr.Cook's modem version I777UCLK3 installed but i do have other modems on my extsd card saved and they are
I777UCLK3_modem.zip
I777UCLL6_modem.zip
I777UCDM8_modem.zip
S959GUDLG1_modem.zip (originally my old stock modem)
but i feel like i should flash a new modem but not sure if one will work.
Alright, here is my setup exactly:
Name: StraightTalk AT&T
APN: att.mvno
MMSC:http://mmsc.cingular.com
MMS proxy: 66.209.11.33
MMS port: 80
MCC: 310
MNC: 410
APN type: default,supl,mms
I'm on UCMD8, but I've used these settings across numerous modems. Try deleting the other apn's you currently have and create a new one using my settings. If you've entered everything properly, selected the new APN and rebooted, your texting should work without trouble.

I'm flashing back my stock modem but i cant use any other APN type but wap.tracfone or my phone wont connect to data at all
also would turning Airplane mode on then off work as well or does it got to be a full reboot or can it be a soft reboot?
I cannot send MMS with Hangouts on Omnirom. Hangouts crashes. Using stock messaging or Handcent works but is not always reliable; it works like 80% of the time.
I haven't figured out the problem. I suspect its a KK problem, not a rom or apn or modem issue.

Well, MMS works with the stock messaging app for me but try the following:
try Play Store for Hangouts app updates
or try update your build to the current build 20140119 from OpenDelta
best ideas from me.
