Root without computer

Hi,
So I am wondering if it is possible to root the international S3 without a computer. I am running Swedish stock 4.1.1.
I am not new to android but I am new to xda. The reason I am asking is because I am currently backpacking in Australia and I need to root so I can get the latest update + fix a bunch problems.
With me I have a Asus transformer Eeepad if it helps at all wich I doubt.
Thanks in advance all you helpfull xda members.
Regards Reclused
If you have another device there is an app that can root from another phone... I'll look for it and post the link
Strange.. I have it installed but not showing anywhere for a link. Search root transmission here in the forums. You'll find it

Thank you very much. You have saved me!!

How would you do that, rooting one device with another rooted device and not use Odin/Mobile Odin? Can`t think of a way right now.

Imo impossible, you always need Odin to install SU and/or CWM. If you can run that from a tablet it is oke.
-EDIT- Here is the link http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2014121, but not for the international S3 atm, not supported yet.
Thanks a lot, I hope they figure it out soon for the international one.
The thing is that I want the latest update on my s3 but I can't get it OTA because it is "changed" status. So I figured I would root it and flash the latest stock version via mobile Odin. But can I root the TF101 without a computer and then use the root transmission perhaps? It has the latest version 9.2.1.27 ICS.

Check this forum http://forum.xda-developers.com/forumdisplay.php?f=1104, make sure it is for your model. I don`t have a tablet myself so can`t help you much there
Root your asus: see http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1366743
Oh i saw u linked the root transmission app link sorry for misunderstanding. Okay it seems I'm ****ad... :/ Thanks for all your help. Anyways.

DEV: Boot menu manager

Did someone will risk to try Boot menu manager from market?
It hijacks android booting process and installs a custom recovery.
Personally I use it on mine Motorola Razr.
I'd try it but I lost root on mine Xperia S.
Warning: brick is possible, so if someone try it make sure the tab is still in warranty period.
What we will gain?
Custom roms, CM10, etc.
Only problem is we dont have a custom recovery for our tab so we cant install what we dont have lol.

What is your busybox version?
Last one is 1.21.0.
You can download busybox from market, check version and update if it's too old.
If you update choose normal install.

Hijack "should" work on any android.
Bellow is a link to the original tread:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1720351
Mounting and flashing can cause a lot of problems.
We can use hijacking with pre-compiled CWM for Sony tablets.
But first we need a proof of concept. Will hijack work on our tablets?
Busybox 1.20.2 doesnt work

but but if it works, that's gonna flash a recovery for droid RAZR...
And how do you expect it to work with the Sony Tablet S?
I am trying to get the information about the application so I can find out what binary does it use.

I'm guessing it's because you're on the LL4 OTA which patched the exploit. Follow the guide in development.

[HELP] low budget phone

Hello developers community, I'm interesting in buying a new phone (Lenovo S820) which came to my region with very adorable price, however , its 4GB memory isn't enough at all , so my question is , can I move games to SD card?
I'm looking out for your response, also for whom ever had the phone , how it preform and how it supported by the manufacturer by both software updates and warranty .
All thinks to who bother him self reading my request and all respect to who reply for that.
Sent from my GT-I9000 using xda app-developers app
By the way , do exist any alternatives in the same price tag ?
Sent from my GT-I9000 using xda app-developers app
If you can root it, you'll be able to move any app to your SD.
I believe no root available for this device

There might be a root method in the future but without root you wouldn't be able to move apps to a sdcard.

I haven't tested it myself, got me a S3
Someone let me know if it works.
