I was wondering how hard it is to port a kernel for our device. I would like to port one of my favorite n7 kernels like motley or bricked, or possibly port one of the current sense-only kernels. I found one guide on XDA but the instructions were kind of vague.

Yes, BUT there needs to be additional tweaking to make it boot
Doubt it
Sensation and Amaze have a lot less in common than you think

Well, I know that, but it seems that the MIUI porting guide doesn't involve a lot of hardware changes, just several folder changes that won't really affect the processor/screen/etc.
I am trying to port a few ROMs from the Samsung galaxy nexus to the nexus s 4g, I'm not having much luck but getting stuck with boot loops, I have 2 bases I have attempted to use(1 aosp jelly bean and 1 cm10) if I use either base and only copy the app and framework from the port ROM I get a boot loop with the boot animation, if I replace port files with the base I get a black screen after boot up, does anyone have any further insight on how I could do this properly?

I don't think it's so easy.... You can't just port roms just by copy pasting... Its actually very hard to do it... Ask help of someone who have already ported any rom...

I agree I had the hardest time porting from the galaxy nexus to the ns4g that's why I have decided to join a team that makes roms

So I'm assuming from what I read that this phone and the thrill are like brothers. And apparently the only thing stopping us from having otg is the kernel (see where I'm going)
Why not port a kernel wit s3c drivers onto the lg thrill? Could it work?

Just wondering if anyone is working on this, how many people are waiting for it, etc... I like stock android more than sense and with all the htc one based roms out there, is it easier to do a one based GPE Rom than porting CM to our device?
I'd use CM, but I like my Bluetooth audio more than stock android.

i heard that GPE isnt even stock android, its just de-sensed. besides, there are a million different 4.2.2 AOSP roms already, i dont think anyone would even bother porting over GPE. just my opinion
Every AOSP Rom so far that I've found doesn't have working Bluetooth audio though. The GPE Roms aren't just de-sensed to my knowledge, they aren't AOSP, but they are close enough for me.

I really love this rom and I wish our dev can port this rom for our DNA

Probably best if you put this in the ROM request forum.

That thread (not forum) is only for AOSP roms. In order to port the rom he's asking for, we need a working 4.2.2 Sense kernel, which joel is working on. The issue with porting 4.2 roms at the moment is that there's a new method for getting the RIL to work, so we're at a stand-still until the HTC One (or similar HTC phone with 4.2) is out on Verizon.
