[Q] Installed rom without external SD card and now I need help - Android Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Hey guys I'm a noob here, which I'm sure you would have figured out later on as you read on. I use and LG G2X and i thought that today I would put a new rom onto it. I have been contemplating for a while and I really regret my decision. I didn't use an external SD card. I created a clockwork backup but since it isn't on the external SD I can't access it any of the files to return it to what it was. I tried my phone into my computer but it doesn't recognize my phone. I also can't use my camera because it tells me to insert an sd card. Is there any way I can mount my internal storage and trick the phone into thinking it is the external SD so i can at least just reset it? I would wipe the internal storage, which I'm not even sure will solve the problem, but that would remove all of my backup data from clockwork backup. Can somebody please help me in recovering the backup data so i can just reset the phone back to the horrid 2.3.4?
Also, I am running Eaglesblood ICS 4.0.3

Install new SD card

Ive done some looking around and cat get answers to my specific questions.
When installing a new sd card, do I turn off phone, pull old sd card, put new one in, then boot up phone, connect to pc and format and then copy my backup of old card to new card?
My main concern is booting up phone with the new sd card that isnt formatted yet and has no data yet on it. Will that effect me when I bootup phone to connect to pc to format?
And lastly, do I need to do any cache clearing or factory resets in this process anywhere?
Thanks for any help/advice.
You can format the new memory card right from the phone itself. Shouldn't affect any bootups, but obviously if you have apps on the old memory card you won't be able to use them.

[Q] format USB storage, erasing all files stored there?

Hi Guys..
Wondering if someone can help..
I have been running CM9 and some other ICs ROMS for a while now.. and have started to receive the following notification.
"format USB storage, erasing all files stored there?"
I initially did this ( did backup to PC first) and it made no difference... it still keeps on coming up.. i have also formatted via CWM too...
This is solely with internal SD and no external SD installed... i am unsure how i can fix this..
I have searched around a bit but can only find answers relating to a removable SD card (removing and formatting via SD card slot in PC) and not the internal one..
Any ideas?

Click to collapse
Just a suggestion:
You may have to flash a new ROM with ODIN and enable the Re-Partition option.
Try to use the pit file for the ROM you are flashing.
Good luck !

[Q] why isn't my SD card working anymore?

Hi,
I two days ago rooted my phone (Samsung Galaxy S2). Before i rooted i transferred some files to my computer and i did same with my 4GB sandisk external SD Card, just incase.
So i took my SD card out and mounted it on my computer and then mounted it back to my phone and started to root.
After all was done i notice that all the apps that i had moved to External SD were gone (they were there but only as an android with the name "loading")
Now i can't even move new apps and games to SD card and i can't move them back since they "Aren't installed anymore"
What would cause this to happen, was it the rooting or the fact that i had unmounted the SD card before?
Also, now that i want to backup my stock ROM i can't do it on the SD since CWM doesn't recognize it. I can however backup to Internal, but i am planning to make a factory reset of my phone, so i can "start again" and it would be a great shame to loose my backup files.
Thank you for the time.
1st try your sd card in another phone to see if the problem is with the card or the phone.
If the problem with card replace it.
If it is with the phone, try rerooting your phone.

[Q] Making A Nandroid Backup On To External SD Card

Hi guys .... Trying to figure this out.
I have the my GS4, its rooted, have Rom Manger Pro, and Titanium Backup Pro installed, and want to flash a new rom on the phone. Trying to do a normal Nandorid back up and it keeps saying I dont have enough memory. So I go out and by a 32gb Micro SD card, run the back up again, and same error. Im guessing its still trying to back up on the internal SD card. Anyone know where I can configure this so it does the back on the external SD card? Also same question on Titanium Backup?
Thanks in advance!
Nevermind .... figured this out.
its under >Settings >Use External Storage (turn the toggle to ON)
I also figured out why I couldnt do a back up as I had already backed up and the current backup with the amount of apps installed filled up the internal storage.

External Sd not showing up in CWM

Hello again everyone, I have a 4gig sd card that I use with my s2 i9100, but for some reason Philz touch CWM recovery doesn't detect it. Now this happened before and I just formatted it via the storage settings on the phone, I then successfully did a nandroid backup to it. A few days later I planned on installing cm, so in preparation for that i decided to test out that backup just in case. But now the Sd card doesn't show up when I press restore and I cant mount it
.
Things Iv tried:
formatting it via storage settings (what worked last time)
formatting it using windows
doing the above again but this time dragging the copy of the sd card I made prior to the first attempt at formatting onto it
Edit: now the backup on my internal sd has gone missing, really confused about this one)
Any help would be greatly appreciated as I am not comfortable flashing without having a backup on the external sd
