[Q]Unrooting for Dead pixel

My SGS II just got an Dead(Red/Pink) Pixel today, And i want to take it back to the shop where i bought it.
But my question was, should I Unroot my phone when i bring my phone to the shop? If so, will Rebranding my Phone lose all my contacts?
Backup all your contacts on Gmail. And yes I would unroot it, just in case they throw it in your face and say "Sorry pal, you voided your warranty."
Thanks for your fast reply!
Will all these Firmwares work? [ROM + Guide]Official i9100 KDD/KE1/KE2/KE7 download for Odin Flash and Root Guide. Because i need the Netherlands One ^^

One question tough.
I just flashed my new Firmware, But i dont know how to Flash the kernel now.
Code:
KernelVersion: [email protected]
Sorry for my noobness, Im still new to Android devices
Don't forget to reset the custom binaries download counter of the device. Otherwise they'll still be able to see you've been running custom kernel/firmware.
Ok so i need to make a Jig for that. And then reset all the custom binaries?
Yes all debranding etc in dev section.

Again, stick it under PDA in odin then flash, make sure you follow screenshots in other threads about what not to tick while flashing with odin

[Q] Friends SII problem

My friends SII will not switch on any more, when he tries someone else's battery it gets to the SII boot screen then loops.
It is not rooted, when I press down + home + power it takes me to a screen that says:
Product name: gt-i9100
Custom binary download: no
Current binary: Samsung official
I'm an SI owner so not sure what to tell him or how to help. Any ideas?
From your incredibly detailed and useful post outlining the problem I can tell you with absolute certainty that one of the cores on your friend phone has failed. Take it back to the core store and ask them for a new one.
Anybody who isn't a tw** willing to help?
If its not rooted its most probably a hardware issue. Just get it back to Samsung.
Sent from my potato running a potato.
When you press down home n powr... its in download mode. Excellent- now just use ODIN to flash a rom! Done. But be careful to flash the correct ROM for i9100...
That "screen" which you're talkong about is called download mode.

This.
If the phone has never been rooted/run non-stock firmware & still has warranty, why would you do something completely stupid like trying to flash a rom of any description when the flash could end up trashing the warranty ?
You've been given good advice, heed it.
I've just checked with him. The phone is outside of warranty, so he is willing to root and flash it with a ROM if necessary.
Should I be looking at flashing it with a rooted kernel and then a ROM?

Even if you flash stock rom via odin it will not void his warranty since binary counter will not increase... And anyway his warranty is no more he can take a chance...
Go to sammobile.com and download stock rom for your country... Make sure the version of your mobile... viz GT I9100 OR GT I9100G..
Download and flash via odin... Let us know

Thanks for your help, I'll tell him. Don't know if he'll be able to do it himself, so I might have to read up and then flash it when I have some time.

[Solved]IMEI has changed, No Network, No Phone Calls (Any Suggestions?)

My IMEI was 353************** and changed to 0499901********. So I am not able to make any phone calls right now.
I have no idea how it happened. I am flashing ROMS for 8 months. I have no EFS backup because i didn't know how much important it was [I AM REALLY STUPID ]
I know 049999**** is a test imei. In every forum there is a solution for SGS / SGSII. There are things for SGS3 but threads are very old like 5-6 months ago and they don't work...
I've tried installing softwares called NsPro or Samsung Tools. But I know they need some special stuffs and they are not free..
I've tried stock roms, modified Roms, kernels, modems after this happened.(Yesterday i was on 4.2.2 now 4.0.4)
So i gave up
Is there any suggestions? Any help way ? Because if I can't find any solution until tomorrow, I'll give the phone to technical service and i don't like it.
Last time I gave my phone to the service it took 25 days and they changed the motherboard with new IMEI (Nokia C7)
And the most important question : Can I update my phone if technical service fixes it? Android 4.2.2 original firmware or 4.3 , 5.0 in the future?
Sorry for bad English.I live in Turkey,Istanbul if there is anyone who can contact me.
Thanks!

If you have no backup there is nothing you can do. Return to stock. If still an issue, needs sending for repair.

Good your issue was resolved. It is always bettwe to keep a back up of efs folder. nv_data_bin would have corrupted which restored on another flash of ROM and you are lucky. Most of the time flashing an unsuitable kernel would lead to this problem.

[Q] Galaxy SIII Imei changed after flash

Hey people i need help from you and i am really sorry about my english but im portuguese
I bought a SIII three weeks ago and yesterday i flashed with the HD revolution version 4.1.2 and after complete boot i installed yank555 kernel. Suddently the phone its only in emergency calls only and the ime has been changed to 004999.... After that i try by odin like 10 original roms and nothing happen. I heard that a member called spocky12 solve another member problem and i have already sent him a message but anyway i ask from you guys if i can do something. I have warranty for 2 years, it was a girlfriend gift, i love the phone and now im completely stuck. If you guys can do something please tell me. Thank you
If you backed up EFS, restore it. If you did not backup EFS, send for repair. No other fix.
Did you use search as per forum rules? Millions of topics on this.

1, you can backup your efs, revert to stock, root, restore efs, and unroot.
2, now that you tell me your going to iOS i dont really want to help you...
