yesterday my phone battery fully ran out and the phone could not be restarted.
now after 24 hours it started again, but it was reset to factory.
i now tried via ubuntu and win8 a lot of ways to back it up, but i could not find anything that works.
is there any way to do a full backup via zune, so that i get a dump of the full phone?
if i had such a dump, i could run that through a recovery tool and get my photos out.
thanks for any directions.
Can you be a little more specific, normally when you synchronizes with Zune your pictures are saved.

i took some important pictures the day it died. so these are not synced.
so i would need a way to dump the user-data partition byte-for-byte like in linux with the "dd" command.
then i could run a recovery tool over that dump.
is there any way i can dump the user-data-partition ???
thanks!!
edit: i researched a bit more and found the "qualcomm mode" would provide me this. but my phone is a DLOAD, so is there a way to read the partitions?
thanks
please, anyone

Ok, so I've been flashing my phone alot, so Microsoft's Myphone has been an invaluable app (you have NO idea how much it pains me to say that). So I've been looking into Shashimi and other auto-install stuff, but I'm wondering where my login/pass is stored on my phone for Myphone. It doesn't appear to be a registry entry. There are some dat files there, but I would have no idea which file to backup. Figuring this out would make flashing new roms super quick and easy to get your data back up (as well as if you had to dump to a clean rom while away from your PC). Any insight would be helpful!

I have only found the username in the registry so far I have a few ideas on how to extract the password but not sure if they will work. Am quite busy cooking ROMs at the mo so if I do find a solution I will let you know

first sometimes the password is encrypted so it my look different but when you can do is a hard reset then look at the time right before you enter your user/PW then look at the dat files that have been modified around at that time then move not copy those files over to the storage card then reopen the app if it has your user/PW then thats not it if it asks you to renter it then it is it. hope this helps
What I lost:
The first TKD-sparringsmatches (ever) of the 7yo son of a friend of mine were succesfully filmed with my SGT 10.1v. The boy performed phenomenally: Despite being a debutant, he won 3 matches in a row and won the golden cup, abroad!
How It happened:
At home, I eagerly connected the SGT with the USB-cable to a Windows XP PC, selected the recorded media files in the DCIM/camera folder and choosed "MOVE". The transfer started, with placing the files in the "My Documents" folder on the PC. Because that wasn't my preferred destination, I canceled the transfer...
Then the disaster occured: The files disappeared !!! They no longer existed on the Tab.
Futile rescue:
I immediately started an obsessive search in Google, determined to find a solution to recover these lost files. In the meanwhile, I made sure to put nothing new in the tab's internal 16GB memory.
Now:
That happened a week ago, and I'm devastated. The only way, as far as I know now, to make a beginning in recovering the files would be to ROOT the device and install special software e.g. Hexamob, but that hasn't even been developed for Android Honeycomb.
Help:
Therefore, I can only hope to get an answer here, to help me in my moment of total desolation...
isent it possible to use a recovery tool on your pc and connect the tab with the usb cable and select the drive that way?

That would work if the internal memory would be recognized as an SD-card. But none of the appropriate 'undelete' programs that run on windows find the external flash drive

I've successfully used software to recover missing data from a damaged sdcard. I don't remember the name of it as I'm at work and the software is on my home computer, but once I get home tonight I'll be sure to look and let you know.
EDIT: Found it! It's called PhotoRec: http://www.cgsecurity.org/wiki/PhotoRec I was able to use it and it recognized my sdcard when my computer wouldn't. Hope it works for you, good luck.

Thanks varelawarfare but PhotoRec is just another example of software that rus under Windows and therefore doesn't recognize the internal memory of het SGT, it doesn't find the drive.
So it looks like the only way to recover the mediafiles would be an application that runs on the SGT 10.1v, inside or outside Android...
Were you ever able to find a solution?
I just did the same thing. Accidentally dragged my DCIM folder to another folder when in Windows, and it seemed to drop all of the photos/videos. I verified this by running an adb shell after.
The only 'recovery' apps don't seem to work on Honeycomb still, and none of the Windows or Linux file recovery programs will see the filesystem.
Just looking for ideas to get them back if possible at all.
Stock Honeycomb 3.1 on rooted 10.1
I was having similar issue last time, you may follow the step by step guide that helped me last time
recover lost files from internal memory
hope this helps.
Hello all,
Not a great first post, but I have a problem, that I cannot solve myself.
I bought LUMIA 800 from a guy on ebay, really good offer(ofcourse), the phone was in good condition, all functioning. Checked the IMEI - not stollen. After taking it home, I noticed that I cannot log into microsoft live, facebook and twitter, from the add new account menu. It keeps giving me - there is an error, please try again later. However, day after that, the phone gives me a message - this demo phone is going to be reset. After that reboots, with all my data formated and starts installing content, like some demo contacts, messages and etc. Also a promo video is played, while I`m loading it.
So, in short - is there a way to get that phone to function normally? I tried both formats, from the menu and with the 3 buttons, it always starts loading the demo contacts and etc.
Any help will be greatly appreciated!
Pavel
ok, did my homework and searched the forums. I will try with standart debranding method, hope it works.
you can flash it using NCS (Nokia Care Suite). I will upload a handy tool for you. wait a moment....
here you can download the tools: http://www.multiupload.nl/91Y8NK6L7E
greatly appreciated Tim! thank you
Hi,
I also got one of those demophones and I tried Tim's method but When I do Step: 20 and Step: 21 I do not see the newer firmware there.
The line where it should be is plank.
I have downloaded firmware from navifirmplus and place it to that exact place what it is on Tim's document: C:\ProgramData\Nokia\Packages\Products\RM-801 without any subfolders.
But on my PC I had to make that products folder too, there was none when I first time navigate to that folder, I check File -> setting from product support tool for store and there that folder is right but I do not see that newer firmware, so can anyone help?
you must run the applications under Administrative rights. so right click on the NCS and click: "Run as Administrator"
otherwise the program doesn't have access to the c:\programdata\......
most accounts have administrator rights, but if you have UAC (userAccountControll) enabled on your computer than the error that you describe will come.
Hi tim!
I tried with administrative rights, now effect, still do not show "new software version"
Does that Product Code have to be same on downloaded firmware and that it is already on phone? caude in phone I have 059N394 and firmware I downloaded is 059N341
You solved your own problem ;-).
yes that's the issue, make the productcode that you downloaded the same as the productcode of your phone, and it will work.
in NaviFirm there is not a code with "059N394", I would download the firmware that is applicable to my country and color, and most matching with the productcode of the phone.
sorry for my bad english....
Please hit the "Thanks" button if I helped you....
Thanks! ur a MAN!!!
It worked!!
Please have you got someone firmware NOKIA LUMIA 800 RM-801 for Nokia Care Suite ?
Thank you very much for your help.
David
I've somehow lost all the data on my sdcard.
Device is an LG G2 D802, running stock lollipop 5.0.2
I had my phone hooked to pc and all was OK.
Then I tried accessing a folder (after being ble to) and an error popped up on windows, I can't remember what, something along the lines of "the device cannot be accesses".
I then disconnected the USB...without first clicking safely remove...so, yes, it probably is my own fault.
Please don't point this out!
How can I retreive my data. I'm more concerned about pictures and videos.
I've tried a few apps, but aren't having much success.
A lot of files don't display correctly
Any help is appreciated
Anyone got any advice?

I have a great working solution for you.
I know a computer software that can extract your images, videos and everything in its original form.
It works on windows.
You have to connect your SD card with the help of card reader.
(Scan and recover)
Below is the direct download link for the software.
fs37.filehippo.com/5406/cb2c01f67d5b4f9096af0dfd91d5e4cb/pci_filerecovery.exe
(Just copy above and paste it in your browser)
If the above process helped you or you find this helpful, just press the thumbs up button

Hi thanks.
But as my device doesn't physically have an sdcard, its a virtual card as far as in aware.
And the back of the phone doesn't come off.
When I connect to PC the phone shows as a device, not a drive

Yeah, like I say in OP, ive tried a few, but either the files arent recover or they don't show properly. They display either half the picture, or just as a big grey block

Then I think its hard to recover them.
Hello developers,
I recently joined this platform because it actually looks like this forum is my last hope. A few weeks ago I lost lots of new holiday memories while I attempted to move files on the internal storage of my Huwei P9. The mobile was connected via MTP to a windows 10 PC that I wanted to use to organize pictures. The files of interest have been moved within the camera folder into a new subfolder and got lost due to the MTP bug.
I tried a few simple free recovery tools, such as recuva, but without success. Those of the authentic and reliable recovery companies are either not capable of recovering the data because of technical reasons or they make non-economic offers with little chance of success at the same time. I have avoided to generate new data on the phone and turned it into flight mode, but I have not been aware of the trimm process, so I did not turn it completely off.
Do you experts see any chance to recover the pictures? Which steps would you recommend? I thought about rooting the phone followed by raw scan by DiskDigger.
I appreciate every recommendation, thanks a lot in advance!
Greetings
