I've somehow lost all the data on my sdcard.
Device is an LG G2 D802, running stock lollipop 5.0.2
I had my phone hooked to pc and all was OK.
Then I tried accessing a folder (after being ble to) and an error popped up on windows, I can't remember what, something along the lines of "the device cannot be accesses".
I then disconnected the USB...without first clicking safely remove...so, yes, it probably is my own fault.
Please don't point this out!
How can I retreive my data. I'm more concerned about pictures and videos.
I've tried a few apps, but aren't having much success.
A lot of files don't display correctly
Any help is appreciated
Anyone got any advice?

I have a great working solution for you.
I know a computer software that can extract your images, videos and everything in its original form.
It works on windows.
You have to connect your SD card with the help of card reader.
(Scan and recover)
Below is the direct download link for the software.
fs37.filehippo.com/5406/cb2c01f67d5b4f9096af0dfd91d5e4cb/pci_filerecovery.exe
(Just copy above and paste it in your browser)
If the above process helped you or you find this helpful, just press the thumbs up button

Hi thanks.
But as my device doesn't physically have an sdcard, its a virtual card as far as in aware.
And the back of the phone doesn't come off.
When I connect to PC the phone shows as a device, not a drive

Yeah, like I say in OP, ive tried a few, but either the files arent recover or they don't show properly. They display either half the picture, or just as a big grey block

Then I think its hard to recover them.

Greetings. This is my first post in a couple of years after having problems with my HTC Universal [XDA Exec]. Please be nice to me :]
Before I made this post, I've been searching endlessly...but all I see are solutions for the same problem on a different phone running XDAndroid. So I can't find a solution in regards to the Touch Pro2.
Anyway, I have a problem. When I go to settings and set a ringtone, it doesn't show anything but "Silent." I took the advice I read at a thread from the Diamond and full formatted my SD on FAT32 and put the things back and supposedly it should work.
I tried that and I still have the same problem.
Did I do something wrong? Or are ringtones not working on the TP2 yet?
Thank you for helping in advanced. :]
+1. I've had the same problem for a couple months. It used to work fine, then tried another build and it didn't anymore, and hasn't since. I've reformatted over and over with different card readers, windows and linux, different apps... nothing has worked.
If this would help find the solution quicker.
I'm running the latest FRX06 arrrghhh created with all the latest rootfs and kernels.
I read a thread that I should go to Settings > Dev Tools > Media Scanning but I can't find it there...I'm assuming since that thread was back in September, it was an old version of XDAndroid.

There should be dev tools in app drawer, but you can try to see if in media folder there are files with strange letters or symbols..
Can't find it in the app drawer. I'm going to assume that media scanning is not there because I didn't put my SIM card in it. Well, I can't really put my SIM card because this TP2 is still locked by T-Mo and I have AT&T...just waiting for unlock code so I can use it.
But I've been messing with the phone for a while that I've been putting apps and utilities in.
Again, could it be the fact that I don't have my SIM card in is the reason why Media Scanning is not even visible?

I'm not sure if this is why Media Scanning isn't visible, but might be why ringtones can't be set/chosen.
I have a Tilt2 (RHOD300) with a working SIM and ringtone selection works fine.
I have had the same problem.
These two seps solved the problem for me:
1. full format the sdcard with the hp-tool
2. search for sounds with the mediaplayer

I found Development.apk . Though I don't know if that's the same as Dev Tools.
@Entrophy: If you don't mind, will you boot to XDAndroid without SIM for me?
And from what I recall Media Scanner runs everytime you boot it, and it tells you at the notification bar. Can you also see if it will prompt Media Scanner w/o SIM?

EDIT:
So I got Dev Tools installed, and ran Media Scanner. One second later, it's done.
I go to my settings and its still showing just "Silent"
...or do I have to reset the phone and it will show up?
I don't mean to bump, but I just finished running Media Scanner, but it's still the same...

It's fine. Thanks for helping me up to this point .
Since I moved the stuff in the Media Folder already, I'll try backing it up, format the SD card again and put it back. I think it should work by then.
Thanks!

Use hp usb format tool
Formats really well
Without full formatting your sdcard with the hp-format tool, you will have no luck.
Copy your SDCard to the PC, format and copy it back, scan and enjoy.
What I lost:
The first TKD-sparringsmatches (ever) of the 7yo son of a friend of mine were succesfully filmed with my SGT 10.1v. The boy performed phenomenally: Despite being a debutant, he won 3 matches in a row and won the golden cup, abroad!
How It happened:
At home, I eagerly connected the SGT with the USB-cable to a Windows XP PC, selected the recorded media files in the DCIM/camera folder and choosed "MOVE". The transfer started, with placing the files in the "My Documents" folder on the PC. Because that wasn't my preferred destination, I canceled the transfer...
Then the disaster occured: The files disappeared !!! They no longer existed on the Tab.
Futile rescue:
I immediately started an obsessive search in Google, determined to find a solution to recover these lost files. In the meanwhile, I made sure to put nothing new in the tab's internal 16GB memory.
Now:
That happened a week ago, and I'm devastated. The only way, as far as I know now, to make a beginning in recovering the files would be to ROOT the device and install special software e.g. Hexamob, but that hasn't even been developed for Android Honeycomb.
Help:
Therefore, I can only hope to get an answer here, to help me in my moment of total desolation...
isent it possible to use a recovery tool on your pc and connect the tab with the usb cable and select the drive that way?

That would work if the internal memory would be recognized as an SD-card. But none of the appropriate 'undelete' programs that run on windows find the external flash drive

I've successfully used software to recover missing data from a damaged sdcard. I don't remember the name of it as I'm at work and the software is on my home computer, but once I get home tonight I'll be sure to look and let you know.
EDIT: Found it! It's called PhotoRec: http://www.cgsecurity.org/wiki/PhotoRec I was able to use it and it recognized my sdcard when my computer wouldn't. Hope it works for you, good luck.

Thanks varelawarfare but PhotoRec is just another example of software that rus under Windows and therefore doesn't recognize the internal memory of het SGT, it doesn't find the drive.
So it looks like the only way to recover the mediafiles would be an application that runs on the SGT 10.1v, inside or outside Android...
Were you ever able to find a solution?
I just did the same thing. Accidentally dragged my DCIM folder to another folder when in Windows, and it seemed to drop all of the photos/videos. I verified this by running an adb shell after.
The only 'recovery' apps don't seem to work on Honeycomb still, and none of the Windows or Linux file recovery programs will see the filesystem.
Just looking for ideas to get them back if possible at all.
Stock Honeycomb 3.1 on rooted 10.1
I was having similar issue last time, you may follow the step by step guide that helped me last time
recover lost files from internal memory
hope this helps.
Morning all
Just got my tab 10.1 yesterday, rooted and installed overcomes ROM this morning. For the life of me I cannot copy over any MKV files as i want to put my files on the damned thing. I've had a quick search through and it seems most people can do it somehow its just no one has given a fool proof way of doing it as far as i can see (i know i will be wrong there)
I have tried to use recovery usb mount but that just doesn't work and every time i use the mtp is just crashes windows explorer.
Please can someone tell me there is a way i can get my files onto my tablet?
any help is greatly received

MTP crashes Explorer.exe? Thats really weird. Sounds like you have bad drivers. Uninstall and reinstall your Samsung drivers and try again.
Another option is to get the USB connector piece that allows you to connect and view the contents of a USB drive with a file manager app straight from the tablet.
One more option is Dropbox. Its a personal file sharing software that lets you see your files from any device with internet. Just drop the files from your computer into your dropbox folder and they will automatically upload online. You can then go to www.dropbox.com and sign in to see these files. Android devices have a Dropbox app, so you don't even have to open the browser, all your files are right there in a folder on your homescreen for you.
If you don't have a dropbox account, Click Here to Sign Up You get 2gigs of free storage space.
rename the extension .mkv to something else like .abc and it should work.

I should have said I renamed. The mkv in question was only 850mb and it crashes. However an mp4 of 1.4gb works fine. All be it it asks me to convert it first.
I'll try and remove the drivers and reinstall and see if that works when I finish work.
hi there i have created 2 videos part 1 and part 2 of the wp7 flashing guide. sorry but i have realised my webcam i recorded with has flipped the video left from right so you cant read what i am doing but you can see what i am doing. also i will wright up a step by step guide on how to do this so you have a video and some wrighting
PART 1
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=HR1JLoyNgqg
PART 2
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=NiZoN8K7M8k
MAKE SURE YOU A 100% CHARGED UP AND MAKE SURE YOU HAVE A COFFEE WITH YOU FOR THE FLASHING PROCESS
LIKE I SAY THERE WILL BE A DETAILED STEP BY STEP INSTRUCTIONS TO GO WITH THE VIDEO ALONG WITH THE FILES TO DOWNLOAD ETC
step 1
with a turned off tg01 and the nokser wm6.5.x rom on your tg01 press and hold the camera and power buttons to show a white LED and a black screen
step 2
Plug into usb and start up tg downloader. make sure your tg01 shows up in the port section, then click browse
locate the file wp7boot.bin then select open.
Click download mode and dont worry if tg downloader crashes if you see my video it happens to me. just keep closing and re trying tg downloader until when you
click download mode it says 100%
step 3
tg downloader may have crashed again just like in my video so again restart it and then click start download when it has finnished it may pop up an error just ok it and
disconnect tgo1 from usb and remove battery for a second. connect battery and hold power and camera buttons until there is a blue led and black/no screen
step 4
Reconnect your tg01 to usb and open the folder base_source_bootloader. Iside there will be a program tsunagi_ffu, right click this and run as administrator and wait for it to load
step 5
follow the onscreen prompts and wait for this to flash it may take a while as you can tell from my video part 2
step 6
when all is done it will say success or something, then it should start to boot wp7 when you get to the screen where there is a circle windows logo with white wrighting
just disconnect your usb so it doesnt interfeer with anything.
and there you go enjoy !!!!

UPDATE - I downloaded part 1 video from Youtube, opened it in VLC player and was able to flip it horizontally. It's still hard to read because of the low resolution.
yes i am sorry my webcam mirrored the video haha i will have a pdf file up today with detailed instructions so you can read the instructions while watchin the video
i have successfully flashed my tg01 to wp7 and back again to wm6.5, 7 times altogether now i use my own method in the video and i find its 95% safer than any other method i have tried
Instructions are up just need to upload all the files

If you install WP7 with SD card in, your card will get formatted and will be unusable at all, you would use it only in your wp7 phone and nowhere else, any other phone, card readers etc don't even see it.
It's possible to reformat the card with Nokia symbian or MAGLDR but we don't have both (some have nokia but not all)

Is it because WP7 uses a new proprietary format? Why can't it be formatted back to FAT32? I R confused!

Because WP7 locks the card to work only with your phone. SD means Secure Digital and it's DRM feature, theoretically unavoidable but symbian can reformat it.

Thanks for the great explanation. I guess I'm still amazed that formatting won't work unless via symbian. This seems to be a case where M$ really didn't think things through by removing the main reason people use swappable memory cards in the first place. I think many WP7 users are going to be screaming bloody murder when they find that their 32 or 64 GB cards have become micro paper weights!

M$ firstly stayed that WP7 won't even support SD Cards or any extensionable memory stuff because thet wanted to keep storage integral, for sure for stability. BUT people or some manufactures like HTC wanted to have in offer phones "that supports SD Card extension!! OMG I LIKE IT" and M$ worked day and night to bring it to us But it's worse than having no sd card at all...

Hmmm...with this development it seems that M$ must believe the cloud is the only way to go for storage. It's not a great idea as so many people don't have high speed Internet access, especially via cell towers. I am in northeast Thailand and we only have Edge cell service here. Then there is the dark side that always trys to find new ways to steal our personal info for nefarious reasons. IMHO, regarding cloud computing, we ain't there yet!

It sounds like a Roku stick and you did something to brick it. Unfortunately you may not be able to recover it as I've not seen any restore method
To fix this box and I have done this to 3 of them already. All of them are the 64GB 4GB ones. Good thing you crashed the onboard rom otherwise it would not start recovery. Get an SD card in 16GB or larger. Look for SD_Firmware_Tool.exe online and the file you want to put on the SDcard is the Android 9.0 PIE is 3318_9.0-TVBOX-Z4_1025.img
Once the SD card is created put it in the Android TV box. Then power on the box and the recovery will begin on its own right away. Once its done. It will tell you to remove the SD card which it will reboot itself once its out. Then it will run an Erase mode setting up the user partition which takes a min. Then it will boot. The first boot takes a few mins. As long as you see the colorful splash screen your good just wait.
Get the unit online and use the update tool to grab and install the latest 9.0 pie update. Once your done its recovered.
Now I have found the SDcard I used to recover these devices once its formatted it will not boot while inserted in the android box. I think a boot flag was set and since it can't locate the files it refuses to boot. The cheap work around is use a brand new Sdcard that was not used for recovery process.
I also noticed the Wifi and Ethernet will not work at the same time in 9.0 like it did in 8.1. The remotes works fine and Bluetooth works still. If you want Kodi latest version uninstall the KDplayer that comes with it. I recommend getting rid of the apps you do not use.
I also notice the Playstore does not install apps but if you use a computer or phone to pick your apps and tell it to install to the TV box it will work then or manually install your .APK's also works. Once the programs are installed they will update afterwards.
I have been looking for Android 10 but no luck yet.
I never ever had luck using the rockchip USB to USB cable to PC to work. It will error out no matter what. Forget going that route.

Where can I get the files that you comment, for example the 3318_9.0-TVBOX-Z4_1025.img?

Uploaded them to my shared Onedrive here. Grab the SD firmware tool too from my onedrive link here at

all you gotta do is have a sdcard with nothing on it. Make it fat32 on the PC. Open the SD card firmware tool. Make sure the top field has your SD card listed.
Click Upgrade firmware option box.
Then load the firmware file by clicking the firmware button.
Then click create.
This will take awhile to write 2GB of data to an SDcard.
Once it's done. Put it on the TV box with the power off. Plug the HDMI cable in. Insert the SDcard in the TF slot.
Then power on the tv box and it will start programming process right away. Leave it be since it takes awhile to do its thing. It will tell you to remove the SD card when done. Once the SD card is removed the box will reboot on its own. You will see the message erasing which takes about 2 minutes. Then it will boot with the T9 logo screen. The first boot takes about 4 minutes to finally start up.
Once you get it online use the updater tool on the menu option. It will update the box. Keep the Sd card just incase it does brick itself. It happened once on one of my boxes. Just pop in the recovery SD card to start over again if it happens to you.
Note for some reason the SD card you use for recovery will not allow the tv box to boot if decide to use it for storage. I believe it sets a boot flag in the SD card firmware and fails when the files are gone. Not sure how to clear it. Hey they are dirt cheap anyways for a new one.
Oh and do not reinsert this sdcard after you set it up. A power cycle will start the recovery process again.
Thank you very much for your help. I try it and tell you how it went

Hi, thank you for this detailed reply.
I am having the same problem with T9 (RK 3318) TV box 64GB 4GB bricked with wrong firmware when I tried to upgrade from Android 8.1 to 9.0.
There is nothing on it whenever I powered up this TV box.
Can I use the same method above to recover the bootup?
All of us would appreciate your advise.
Thank you.

Yes it works. I was able to update all three of the boxes I own to the 9.0 Version. The playstore on the 9.0 sucks. Better off installing and maintaining your updates with pureAPK instead of playstore. Remember the SD card will not be useable on the T9 boxes after carrying out the update for additional storage. It can always be used to restore the boxes if something happens. I was able to use the SD card in other devices.

Thank you for your fast reply.
I m trying to create the SD Card with img file but failed with error message (attached picture).
My TV box is made of RK3318, not RK 3328 chipset. I m trying out your method..
Do I need to short any pin to unbrick the Circuit board?
I appreciate your advice, please. Thank you.
Is that a 2Tb card? Use a 32GB one or smaller as long its 8GB to 32GB in size. There was no pin shorting needed. Just create the SDcard and put it on the TV box port and power on tv box.

Thank you for your guidance.
Make sure windows is not blocking the file by right clicking on the properties of it and click unblock and apply. Also I would run the SD creation tool with admin rights.

Hi. thks for your kind guidance.
I managed to create Bootrom Img disk using SD Card. However, my T9 TV box cannot be powered up. I suspect that the IC chip was damaged. This TV box was bricked when the vendor supplied me the wrong Img file. I realised it after I opened up the TV box cover.
Time to dump off the TV box.
Good afternoon,
I am looking for a stock version for the T9 TV Box 32GB/4GB RK3318. some months ago, I bought a TUREWELL T9, however it is not allowing to run Disney+ anymore and I am not able to upgrade the device. Hence I was hoping that the above solution would work with a stock version of Andoid.
Any help is greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance.
