GPS won't work - Verizon Samsung Galaxy Note II

I am on Jedi Rom. Gps won't work no matter what. Won't work on Google maps, won't work on navigation, won't work in any apps. Its accurate up to 3200 meters... That's over a freakin mile. Anyone have a fix for this? It worked fine before I went to this rom.
I need this fixed soon because I'm taking a trip and need my phone for navigation.

Just download it and that's it or do I need to open it up somewhere and install it? Because it didn't work after I downloaded it.

I tried every fix posted in the last month. Nothing worked.
Flashed all kind of zip's that said it would fix the GPS lock. NADA
Flashed ROM's that Guaranteed to fix the GPS. NADA
Installed apps that said it would get lock. NADA
Nothing worked so as a retired Submarine Missile Technician I went to the nuclear option.:fingers-crossed:
I got a Rom I thought would be close to stock http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2261478 got the Deodex ver.
Reformatted the Micro sd (fat32)
Booted to recovery and "factory reset" 5X
Wiped Cash and delvac 5X
One more reset. (Said I was nuking it)
Flashed the rom and Gapps, went outside and got Lock
Did what I do be overkill?......yep. But I got GPS lock back. (also flashed Faux kernal and kept lock)

Never had luck with my GPS while on AOSP roms then I found the agps fix
Add ro.agps.allow=false to your build.prop and reboot

I really like this rom and would like to keep it...
I know its a noob question, but how do I add that to the build?

If you're willing to try something switch to global mode reboot and try gps again. You may need to use an app like pimp my rom. You'll most likely lose data. This works on moon rom, obviously this makes the rom unusable for anything phone related until you switch back to lte which losses gps. If anyone is willing to try this let me know if it worked for you. I'm trying to figure out why some of us are affected with this weird issue.

I had the same problem, tried every fix I could find, nothing worked. Finally unrooted back to stock and then got a GPS lock. Then rerooted and haven't had any issues on any rom thus far

Guide of fixing your gps problems

There is people having problems with getting the gps to ping in. After flashing a rom. Well here is a fix for everyone having problems. .
Steps to take
1.Reboot into recovery
2.Backup everything up
3.Reboot into recovery
4.WIPE CACHE & DALVIK CACHE
5. FACTORY RESET
6. WIPE DATA
7. WIPE THE INTERNAL SD CARD
8.Flash your favorite rom
9. Reboot system
10. Once you have your phone up and running. Go outside and run your gps.
Or you can just use file manager. And delete the Android file in internal sd card. Restart your phone. Then follow step 10. All should work. .
Sent from my SCH-I605 using Xparent BlueTapatalk 2
Yeah, I don't know. Also, kind of redundant - as factory reset covers everything but wiping internal sdcard.
I can get GPS to run on each and every ROM I run and I've never followed these steps. Download GPS Status from market first. Turn on wifi and GPS - then open Maps. Then open GPS Status. It will say 'Maps updated to latest version'. Type in an address and start navigation. Place in window sill until it locks. Once it locks once - you're good.
Everytime.

I've never had gps problems ever till I flashed novella rom. I haven't had a gps lock on it yet, but I haven't needed it and I really like this rom, but I'll try your idea first because the first one will take a while.

I read somewhere in the Novella thread that if you flash another rom that has working gps, run the GPS Fix app, once it fixes gps, back up that app and restore the rom with broken gps. Then restore GPS Fix app, run it.
I just did this and it worked.

A few months back I had working GPS on ParanoidAndroid. I let my brother use this phone for a while, and now I'm back. He used a flash of CleanROM while he had it.
As soon as I got this phone back, I flashed to the newest CM nightly. Everything seemed to work fine until I noticed a problem with GPS yesterday.
I'm trying to troubleshoot the problem today. I've flashed VRALJB (after wiping system/data/internal sd) and have done nothing but log in to the App Store and download GPS Test. I usually have no problem getting a fix at my desk indoors, but I've walked outside with this thing too. I see 28 satellites in view, but it's stuck at 0 in use. No matter what I do, it says "In Use 0". This is driving me bonkers.
Edit: Going to try sitting it on the windowsill with nav running. Will report back.
Edit2: Nothing is working. On an old version of beans, only because I know it used to work. Currently 19 in view, 0 in use. Going to give up until I go for a drive or something.

I think it's really just getting the lock then immediately flashing new ROM. That worked on s3, razr, lg spectrum and my note. One if the spec devs figured out why it worked, but I can't recall anymore. It was some command it called when working that the bad ROM wasn't and for some reason when it was active it would last through a flash.

Usually deleting and resetting the gps files through the app "gps status" (found in the playstore) works for me within 20-60 seconds, but in my worst case scenario(so far) I did have to reflash scott's verizon patch[newest radios] and THEN run the app, but other than that I think ive been pretty lucky. Never had to reflash any rom to regain gps lock...
I flash ALOT... and also yes.
Desperation bump. Walked all around this morning with GPS Status running. This is the best I get: http://i.imgur.com/brE5B2P.png

Yes, definitely. More than one time. I'm on the newest radios if that makes any difference. Starting to wonder if the gps hardware has gone bad.
When I'm wiping, I'm flashing to a rooted/deodexed VRALJB. Can't get a lock on that or on CM.

Format your internal sd card from your computer. If you know how to. Then pull battery and then restart your phone. Then try to ping the gps. Backup your pics or anything else you dont want to lose. You wont brink your phone by doing this.. its just wiping all the bull crap that built up..

This is what I do:
1) Reboot recovery
2) Wipe cache, dalvik, data
3) Delete everything in /sdcard/
4) Install VRALJB
5) Reboot system
6) Skip setup wizard and go straight to Maps... nothing
7) Sign in to Play store and download GPS Status... nothing
8) Update AGPS data... nothing
9) Toggling off/on Verizon location service.... nothing either way
Back when I used to be able to get a fix with this phone, I would have vertical bars underneath where it says "In View" and "In Use". I'd see them bouncing up and down even before I truly had a fix. I get absolutely nothing now. No movement at all. Indoors, outdoors... I took it for a walk with me today and got nothing. :crying:
Edit: Screw it. I was hoping I wouldn't have to, but I'm going to Odin and re-jailbreak. Will report back.
Edit2: I ran Odin, jailbroke and restored a backup. No difference. Maybe I shouldn't have restored the backup. Sigh...
So even a stock rom won't give you a gps lock? What about before you unlocked/rooted again? Have you tried to go completely back to stock, then a gps lock? If that doesn't work. Give Verizon a call for a replacement.

Yeah... I just Odin'd again and decided to test before I jailbroke/rooted/anything. No GPS at all on stock VRALJB. Looks like I'll be doing an insurance replacement here in the near future. Don't know what else I can do.
I had to go back to stock, but it worked. I got a GPS. Then I rooted and stopped there. Five minutes later I busted the screen, so I will report with my new phone tomorrow.

A Fix for Your GPS Woes

While browsing a bit last night I luckily stumbled across a recovery flashable zip that fixed all my GPS issues on AOSP. I had previously tried all the other fixes that have been posted thus far and none worked on the 20130601 VRB nightly, the previous VRB nightlies, any of the PA releases, or any of the other various AOSP ROMs.
In the post it states that this will work with any of the t0lte phones, the VZW Note 2 is the t0ltevzw for those of you who have only heard of it referred to as the i605, so I gave it a shot and lo and behold my GPS locked within 5 seconds where it previously wouldn't even pick up any satellites.
So those of you having the same problem try flashing this:
http://rootzwiki.com/topic/40116-42...de-hello-halo-0604/page__st__490#entry1184057
Here is a link to it in my Dropbox for those of you who would rather not use Rootz:
http://db.tt/PnvlFhgy
The way I flash it and the way I have always gotten it to work is to open Maps first, click the GPS shape to get it to find you, wait until it says "Unable to locate", reboot directly into recovery, flash this fix WITHOUT WIPING ANYTHING, reboot and open Maps, profit. When you are testing Maps after you flashed the fix make sure you are outside to give it the best possible chance to find satellites. If it still locks show but you are getting a lock try using FasterGPS from the Play Store to change your GPS.conf, to do so open the app, grant it superuser privileges, and select the correct continent and region under NTP Server. It should be North America for the continent and United States for the region unless you are using the i605 out of country, if you are using it out of country then select the appropriate continent and region.
I didn't create this nor in any way, shape, form, or fashion take any credit for this fix, the credits go to alba on Rootz. The only thing I have done is post it here so hopefully the people with GPS issues will see it and finally be able to use it.
EDIT:
For those of you that flash this please leave a comment starting if it did or did not work and what ROM and kernel you're using. If you haven't flashed a kernel then just put something like "using kennel that came with ROM." This way maybe we can see which ROMs it works with and which it doesn't so hopefully we can troubleshoot it and get your GPS working.
Also if the fix doesn't work download GPS Status or GPS Toolbox from the Play Store and see if your phone is even seeing the satellites. If it is it will show you something along the lines of either 0/0 or 0/x# of satellites. I have included some screenshots to show you how to find the number of satellites in GPS Status.

LTE issue

I flashed the google rom a few days ago and noticed that I couldn't pick up LTE. So I flashed the hyperdrive rom thinking it would fix the issue. Hyperdrive works good but I still can't pick up LTE. I think this is probably an easy fix and was hoping someone could point me in the right direction.
I wipe data/system/cache every time I install a new rom.

The Google roms have a problem that prevents the LtE bars from showing. You still have 4g but the bars just don't show up. If they fixed it recently then I'm probably wrong though.

Jedi 14 gps

Hi all I been wanting to use the Touchwiz Jedi 14 ROM for a while now. Only problem is no matter what I do I cannot get GPS to lock. When I open maps the GPS icon doesn't show up showing its searching. I have to open navigation to see its searching. I have downloaded this ROM 4 times, each time to try something new. Jedi ROMS and GPS
I have flashed several Jedi ROMS over the last two years and I have always gone back to stock for the sole purpose of GPS. I have tried all the fixes and none of them have ever resolved the problem for me. I like many others LOVE the Jedi ROMS but require GPS to function as well as it does on stock ROM. When a GPS fix that is solid comes around, I will be right back on Jedi. I would love it if someone could find and honest clean resolution for this issue.

I have no issues with any Verizon based roms such as Clean or Beans, but any ported or intnl rom I cannot get the GPS to come on or get a fix. I have tried every fix that I can find applicable to Note 2 and even some s3 on every forum that has come up in searches. Would love to use Novella, but still looking for a fix that will make this dang Verizon Note 2 work. Tried different firmware/basebands, replacing or adding the proper libs, getting a fix on a different rom then flashing, GPS fix trick with restore, still no dice. I am still looking for something that will work. Even tried the "press upper right corner thing" and tighten screws. And combinations of all those things. I know its not a GPS problem with hardware as it works on every Verizon based rom. Good luck...I am still looking.

Hmm I got nothing then. International roms don't like my phone, but If I have a lock on a Verizon rom before flashing I always get a lock on international based roms thereafter.

I have the same problem with the latest Jedi X17, I can get a lock before the flash, boot into recovery, do my wipes and flash only to have an AWESOME rom without the 1 capability i use most with my device. The Rom has a GPS quick-fix, that doesn't work for my device, and I've tried several from the market. It's infuriating...
Gonna try clean rom again in the next day or 2. Question when installing rom people say to wait 10 mins then reboot.do you let it sit right after flasing or after you put in Google acount etc?

let it sit for a minute or two after youve gone through the aroma installer. and it gives the green button to reboot. no need to wait ten mins but i have locked my phone up a few times flying through install and rebooting right away. if it happens though just pull your battery and pop it right back in and itll boot back to recovery. then i always flash again
