My external sd refuses to mount in Rom or recovery ever since I pulled sd card out with out properly unmounting it threw Rom... I've restored a few different roms and still wouldn't recognize. I even formated my external sd with s special sd card adapter, it keeps saying unable to mount external sd.

So when I flash a back up or rom out is never able to mount the sd card. (I was wondering if its because after I installed the darkside rom it formatted it to ext-4.) Is this an issue? If so, is there anyway to format back to the sd card mount point, which I believe I've read is ext-3.

Hi guys, first of all, congratulations on the excellent work!!!
I have this problem: I installed Neutrino Rom 2.9 on my motorola Atrix (at&t), but after the installation, the system seems not recognize my external sd card.
I try remounting it from the recovery, but the recovery can`t do it either.
I think the problem starts when the folder /system is formatted (if I manually do the format, the recovery stops mounting the sd card since that moment)
When I plug the phone to the computer the sd card is neither recognized. Only shows the internal sd card.
Anybody has the same problem? there exists any solution?
Thanks!
Quite frankly, it's kinda hard to imagine formatting /system would do this. It seems more likely your SD card is just borked somehow.
I'd put it in a card reader and plug it into the computer and run some filesystem checks if I were you.
I don't think the card is the problem. The phone recognizes it perfectly before flash the rom. Other roms that I tried also recognizes it.
Maybe i have to format the SD card to a specific filesystem to neutrino can mount it? Now is formatted in fat32.
Thanks!

Hi friends recently I had bought htc amaze.
When I connected my phone through cable it asks for formatting internal storage... After that I'm unable to mount sd and external sd also.. When I'm mounting sd card it shows "preparing sd card" and within a second it shows "sd card safe to remove". PLEASE HELP ME....
Try a different SD card.
Sir I've also tried different sd card but it didn't works... internal memory is not working...
Flash a RUU for your particular device.
I also tried to reinstall factory ruu... that also not working.....
I was trying to do a factory reset and accidentally wiped eveerything from my internal sd card. Now I cant get into my phone. I have TWRP installed with Jewel PVT Ship S-on RL
I have some ROMs on my external SD card but everytime I try to install the ROM through TWRP form the external sdcard it fails because it says that the internal sdcard failed to mount. Is there anyway to get the ROM from my external SD card to my internal SD card since it is now wiped and can not mount. How can I get a ROM installed if it is currently on my external SD card. Thanks!

First thing is format the SD card. Then from with in twrp switch from Internal to External SD card, and then browse for your rom there

Can I format the card in twrp? What is the filesystem? EXT? After formatting it be able to mount? I was trying to install from the other sd card but it was failing due to not being able to mount sdcard. Hopefully a format will fix that.
You may have to go back to TWRP 2.2. That was the only way I got mine back to a functioning phone. Oh and copy your ROMs to the internal SD after you format it. It can be done through TWRP. Hope this helps cause I know the pain your going through without your phone.

Had this problem
Ended up having to USB mount the phone, then format using mac's disk utility. Certainly would have been easier if I had been able to successfully format it from within recovery!

At least you're back up and running. Hopefully you had a backup of your setup on your computer before you had to format.

I'm having an issue with a brand new sd card not mounting to the phone. It was working before, but I went to connect the phone to a computer so I could move files over to the sd card in the phone. When I disconnected the phone from the computer, I got a pop up on the phone saying the sd card was unmounted. The card mounts to other phones but will not mount on the LG V10. Anybody have issues with the sd card unmounting and if not, what should I do? I've tried reformatting the sd card and still doesn't mount. I'm out of ideas.

Try an app called Foldermount if you have root to see if it will remount card
