I was trying to do a factory reset and accidentally wiped eveerything from my internal sd card. Now I cant get into my phone. I have TWRP installed with Jewel PVT Ship S-on RL
I have some ROMs on my external SD card but everytime I try to install the ROM through TWRP form the external sdcard it fails because it says that the internal sdcard failed to mount. Is there anyway to get the ROM from my external SD card to my internal SD card since it is now wiped and can not mount. How can I get a ROM installed if it is currently on my external SD card. Thanks!

First thing is format the SD card. Then from with in twrp switch from Internal to External SD card, and then browse for your rom there

Can I format the card in twrp? What is the filesystem? EXT? After formatting it be able to mount? I was trying to install from the other sd card but it was failing due to not being able to mount sdcard. Hopefully a format will fix that.
You may have to go back to TWRP 2.2. That was the only way I got mine back to a functioning phone. Oh and copy your ROMs to the internal SD after you format it. It can be done through TWRP. Hope this helps cause I know the pain your going through without your phone.

Had this problem
Ended up having to USB mount the phone, then format using mac's disk utility. Certainly would have been easier if I had been able to successfully format it from within recovery!

At least you're back up and running. Hopefully you had a backup of your setup on your computer before you had to format.

Earlier today, I realized that my phone doesn't recognize my SD card. I tried taking it out and putting it back in with no luck. Then I decided to re-flash the rom with ClockworkMod Recovery but it requires the sd card to flash which mine does not work. I also tried downloading twrp2.0 but again, the bootloader won't recognize it because it's not on the SD card. Lastly, I factory reset the phone hoping it would format the sd card, but now every time I unlock the phone, there is just a black screen. Any suggestions?
How did you factory format it?
From when the phone is turned on, or on recovery?
What you should do is get the memory card and stick it on your computer. It might be corrupted or something alike.
Once on your computer, format it to fat/fat32.
On windows:
Go on my computer, wait for memory device to be detected, and right click it.. then format.
On Mac:
Open: "Disk Utility" by either going to "utilities" on applications folder, or by searching for it on the spotlight search bar.
Then click umm.. im not on my mac now, google it.
After you do all that, put the ROM and the Recovery.
Then flash away.
Hope this helps.

Well, the phone says it can't mount the SD Card, even when I placed a different one in so I think it's an issue with the phone or rom.

take out the external sd card and do a nandroid on the internal sd card...then restart the phone and save you're nandroid somwhere safe...This is not going to solve your SD issue, but you'll atleast have a backup copy of your system if you ever have to get a new one... also if you have an micro sd to sd adaptor, try to stick the sd card in your computer (assuming you have an SD reader) and try to format it that way fat32 i believe.

I did the Nandroid Backup and I do have a USB with a port to insert a Micro SD Card, but it doesn't show that I plugged anything in. It may be a problem with the SD Card, but I also have another 8 Gig one that it won't mount or recognize.
when u go to settings-storage...what do you see? do you see mount/unmount sd card? or u cant even go to settings?
Stop replying and start listening.
You need to RE-format your SD card to FAT32.

Would it be possible to flash twrp through the bootloader or through fastboot without the SD, or can I flash a rom directly from clockwork recovery without an SD Card?

You can flash a recovery without an sdcard.
With the device in bootloader mode:
fastboot flash recovery c:\recoverydirectory\recoveryname.img

Thanks! I was able to flash TWRP and flash Android Revolution.
I was in Sub-Zero recovery and for some reason the phone cannot MOUNT the EMMC which to the recovery is the External SD card, that I have read. So I decided to PARTITION it, and partitioned it alright, my INTERNAL SD CARD. It completely FORMATTED IT, all my music, my ROM downloads, recovery downlaods. WTF? WHY WOULD IT TOUCH the internal SD card, when i told it to touch the external SD card? And yes I told it to do the external NOT internal.
When I went to mount it, it STILL COULD NOT MOUNT IT. I put my SDCARD into my computer directly it had to format it? There should of been 4GB of FAT32 left, if the partitioning did it correctly. It didn't and I still had to format it. It reads fine in my computer it's an 8gb SDHC card, tell me this phone can't read SDHC??
Why can't this phone read this SD card, when my computer can read it fine, and why did it touch the internal SD card, getting rid of my backups, and everything else? Why would the recovery do that?

What rom and version were you running? CM9 swapped /emmc and /sdcard in one of the latest commits, it's possible the ROM you're running cherrypicked that commit.
I'm selling my Amaze, keeping external memory.
Where is the location for custom recovery - is it on internal or external card, or somewhere else - in the phone?
I want to wipe the internal memory, keeping temp external card, reboot into recover and install custom rom from external memory, then reboot and remove internal memory.
Will the above procedure work ?
your internal memory is basically an internal sd card, so formatting that will not affect your recovery or system etc. there's a partition set for system files. Your procedure will work, just flash a rom and format the internal sd before or after, it won't matter.

Thanks, wasn't entirely sure, as I'm about to do all of this in front of the buyer. I guess formatting internal SD card from recovery is the safest way, as I read doing it via PC renders the card useless.
Thanks mate!

Okay I did a dumb thing and hit factory reset from bootloader instead of hitting recovery. So now only twrp folder shows and I have to flash from my eternal sd card. When Im in the Rom (CM10) I have no internal memory. I recieve a need sd card message when I try to download from the browser and under storage settings it says mount sd card under internal but It never mounts. And in cm10 I cannot mount usb storage. Sooooo.... wth? Should I run an RUU or is there a simpler or less painful solution? HELP! Thanks!
P.S. Is this the answer from the F.A.Q?
"Help I flashed a new ROM/update/script and now I can't access my internal/external SD card Its OK, the SD card has been corrupted but you can reformat it with recovery itself or by using recovery to mount the card and formatting it by PC"

I've been having no trouble with flashing roms from my external sd card. I'm looking to completely wipe my phone (internal and external sd cards) to get a fresh install. I formatted my external sd card (via the phone). I then connected it to my PC, copied over my rom and a wipe tool no problem. My phone reads the SD card fine when it's booted up, can see the rom i've copied over.
When I re-boot into recovery mode with CWM-based Recovery (v6.0.1.4 - siyah), it says "E:can't mount/external_sd/" when I try to find my rom to flash.
I'm wondering if the problem is the siyah thing, it's not the kernal i'm using, if was installed on my phone with a rom I no longer use. That said, it wasn't an issue before I formatted my external SD card.
I've just updated CWM to ClockworkMod Touch 6.0.3.2 which has got rid of the Siyah version. I've also formatted the SD card again as i've read that formatting via the phone changes the file format to something cwm doesn't like. I did it via PC, it's formatted at exfat. Still made no difference, CWM won't read it.
Might be a silly question but did you go into "mounts and storage" I. Cwm and check the external sd card is mounted?
Sent from my GT-I9300 using Tapatalk 2
I have tried that. It didn't work, it would give the same error. I have managed to get it to be read in CWM, I downloaded the ROM manager tool, used that to put a partition on the SD card. Then I was able to format the card via CWM. I've not had a chance to put my ROM back on the SD card and retry. One thing is, when I booted up the phone after formatting the card in CWM, the phone shows it as blank or has an unsupported file system, saying it needs to be formatted. I wonder why there is a conflict?
I needed to format the sd card on my pc, it needed to be fat32. All sorted now

If you really want exFAT, try Philz recovery linked in my signature. It is CWM but with loads of great extra features (including exFAT support).
I actually thought that exFAT support meant it can format in exFAT. I find it odd that exFAT is the native format that Samsung uses but CWM doesn't support it.
Personally I use FAT32 myself as my main computer is Linux and exFAT is too microsofty for it to recognise.
I've installed that and re-formatted my SD card into whatever Samsung uses (think it's exfat) as fat32 was making windows explorer slow and crash prone
sup guys am having a problem with my samsung galaxy s3,via E:can't something related to mount format.............i mount for mated ,anyone who know how i can fix it?
