[Q] Problem with booting WT19i - Sony Ericsson Xperia Mini, Mini Pro, Xperia Pro, A

Hi guys,
I downloaded this mod: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2155803 (Zelly Cream 3.5 True Xperia Z), can't post my question there due to stupid forum rules but oh well...
Anyway, I am using WT19i LWW with locked bootloader, so stock kernel and after flashing mentioned ROM (I do every step as written there) and turning on the phone I get Sony Ericsson logo (kernel logo?) and then just black screen. I can't even enter CWM. I tried flashing back and flashing the rom again 3 times and every time the effect is the same.
Could some kind soul help me out, please? I would be most grateful.

How did you flash the rom without entering CWM? Was it in a .ftf?

I did through CWM, just as written in the installation procedure of the ROM. I should've also mentioned that every time I waited over 40 minutes for something to happen, but no luck.

i think the problem might be this (i.e) , after installing the ROM in the last step of aroma , you have to untick "reboot device" and you have to go back to cwm and reboot from there.....

It was unticked by default, so I didn't even have to. Any more ideas? ;S

@BlizzyPL fine flash stock rom again and try OR maybe try any rom and after that follow these steps
1. Wipe cache partition
2. Wipe Dalvik cache
3. go to mounts and storage and
i) format CACHE
ii) format data
iii) format system
iv) go back to cwm menu and install "Zelly Cream3.5" Zip file
if still doesn't work!! re-download the zip file and try with above steps by choosing your options carefully

[Help]My LWW strucked at sony logo while installing rom

Hello one and all....I'm in a deep problem.. Required urgent reply.I had rooted my phone successfully with flashtool and also installed ics stock rom on it.I usually dont install any mods or roms.. but I saw real ics and installed it.but it had not responded in the page where it asked details aboutt wipe data and others..but it only responds to the buttons back and next i pressed next and it had installed rom succesfully. Then cwm rebooted and then I had strucked on sony logo...I tried many times but no use..It cant also open cwm recovery....
Real ICS (full) is unlocked BL specific i think; you have to flash original firmware i guess, use PC companion to repair.
Can you enter flashmode? If you can then just re-flash it with Stock ICS Firmware,Oh did you install a costum kernel before Flashing real ICS? Most CosROM requires a costum Kernel installed
Sent from my Xperia Mini using XDA Premium
Go back to stock ROM, and root your phone again. Then unlock your bootloader and try flashing a custom kernel (I'd recommend KRsH Kernel). In CWM, do a factory reset and wipe everything (dalvik-cache, battery stats, EVERYTHING). Proceed to flashing the Real ICS ROM (choose "install zip from sdcard", not "apply update").
---------- Post added at 11:49 AM ---------- Previous post was at 11:44 AM ----------
One more thing - the first boot takes quite a while (it took me about 5 minutes or so). I'm also running Real ICS.

I think no.. before I had rooted my device at stock rom 4.0.2.A.0.58 and flashed it to ics stock rom to it using flashtool with out wipe data so that i can preserve root as shown in some guide from xda forum(I cant provide a link). So i'm happyt with the root. Then after one month yesterday I had saw the realics r5.1 and tried to install it on my phone. It asked to install cwm recovery and i also had installed it.then i entered cwm and backed up my current rom to sd card and started to install real ics rom. then it had currectly installed and returned to cwm and it showed rebooting device and reebooted..then at sony logo i had waited for approximately 3 minutes and then tried to switchoff the phone but not responded.then i had removed the battery.and then tried again.but no use....

You can install a Xperia S based rom, like Real ICS, or install mods like Xperia S Launcher
Try these steps:
1. DOWNGRADE to GB .58 firmware using FLASHTOOL
2. ROOT your phone, and install a ROOT SHELL
3. Use FLASHTOOL to update to ICS 4.0.4 (DO NOT wipe user data)
4. ROOT your phone
5. UNLOCK your BOOTLOADER
6. FLASH a CUSTOM KERNEL (KRsH KERNEL is recommended for Real ICS)
7. Enter CWM
8. In CWM, do a FACTORY RESET, WIPE CACHE PARTITIONS, WIPE DALVIK CACHE and WIPE BATTERY STATS (DALKVIK CACHE and BATTERY STATS are found in ADVANCED)
9. Choose INSTALL.ZIP FROM SD CARD and choose the Real ICS zip file
Seriously, the first boot is ridiculously long. 3 minutes may not be enough. Try waiting for 10 or 15 minutes.

That's just a kernel then, you need a ROM, which is 250,000KB upwards, so get a ROM ftf and try again if you haven't already.

I think, flashing the wrong ftf might have broke something, so I would contact Alejandrissimo or Jinx13 and see if they can help you remotely, as it's quite strange this. Try flashing a custom (ICS) kernel with CWM, then flash one of the ST18 ftfs but exclude the kernel, and see where that gets you.

even before flashing the wrong rom i am already having this problem, tried flashing doomkerneI and flash stock ftf excluded kernel. It gets past the first SE boot screen but gets stuck on the second SE logo (after screen animation) then I tried installing Xperia ultimate hd with aroma but it detects my board type as Lt15i Anzu or Lt18i Ayame and intalled the one for Ray.. boots upto the Lockscreen but Touchscreen is unresponsive also same with other custom roms. I just cant get the stock rom too boot up and only custom roms work
I also tried adb and these fastboot commands:
fastboot -w and
fastboot erase system
fastboot erase recovery (error)
fastboot erase boot (success)
fastboot erase data (success)
fastboot erase splash (error)
fastboot erase cache (success)
and flashed custom kernel and installed rom in CWM flashed stock ftf again still stuck on SE logo. maybe my phone partition is corrupted i dunno

Hi,
I'm in the same situation, I bricked my phone with a custom firmware and tried many things so far, but none worked.
My phone start only with the unified kernel 3.0.x KERNELS] [RAY / PRO] 3.0.8-nAa-03 [6/5/2013] - Unified kernel + CWM Recovery , but touch is not working.
I noticed when I flash stock firmwares with flashtool the current device is :
Current device : ST17i - CB511U4GE1 - 1254-9461_R2I - 1248-9545_4.0.2.A.0.58 - WORLD-a_4.1.B.0.587
When I try to install CM10, fails. I assume it's a device check, because there's a failure message saying some kind of ro.product.device=ST18i ... and so on
have you managed to get your ray working?
Thank you!

CM10 fails on device check because it relies on system partition from the stock rom - so, you just need to flash "system" from STOCK firmware and then try install CM10 again.
Now, regarding the TOPIC:
Exactly same issue and behavior.
1. Tried unlock using official sony guide (no TA backup)
2. installed cm9 and everything worked FINE (however after unlock I could still see capital 'R' in name of EBOOT
3. decided to try another roms and tried install Xperia HD rom (using AROMA installer - <<< blaming this installer! (and myself too ofcourse)
4. I'm pretty sure I was careful selecting correct values including device=RAY and bootloader=UNLOCKED
5. Phone does not boot, probably kernel mismatch, I decided to install pacman rom and its booting fine, but then -> touch screen NOT working
6. Tried to flash STOCK rom (perhaps I was doing some locking/unlocking bootloader in between, don't really remember)
7. no stock roms are working - stuck on SONY/SE logo...
8. After that I was doing almost everything, trying to restore locked/unlocked bootloader, flashed Restore Xperia 2011 ftf (with preset.ta)
Symptoms are exactly same: Even if I flash official roms, TA info shows differen rom (looks like not being updated) and I still have capital 'R' in EBOOT version however my phone is 100% unlocked - I can flash/reflash kernels and fastboot oem unlock shows 'already unlocked' message.
I ended up with purchasing 'OmniusSE' application and trying to fix s1boot/doing unlocking with this app/reflashing/almost everything - NO LUCK.
If anybody knows how to restore this phone so the STOCK fw could work, or at least touchscreen was not bricked - PLEASE SHARE THE WISDOM!

update:
Meanwhile, I heard very similar problems (after flashing/reflashing/unlocking) from different users. Like here for example: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1953468) and the solution was - replace the touchscreen. I heard this even from service-centre specialists that repaired ST18i phones. So end-up purchasing a new screen on ebay. Lets hope it will help.
I'll update this post if this will solve the issue.
Ordered new screen from ebay and most importantly I've managed to replace it and... IT WORKS!!!!1111221!

Neo V stuck rootloop, can't access anything...

hi all!
after successfully flashing and rooting my neo v i started trying these excellent roms of XDA developers.
so, with locked BL, after installing XPERIA Ultimate HD and Zelly Bean i went for a try on Ice Cream pureness v14.
i guess my mistake was that after a full wipe from CWM i installed the ROM, the neo v patch and the upgrade without any reboot but the last one.
anyway, i am stuck on a bootloop now
can't access CWM (i guess because of system format....(?))
i flashed stock rom with flashtool but still nothing
i am searching for hours to avoid posting such an embarrassing "first post" but i really can't find a solution
thanx in advance!
EDIT : Just managed to recover the phone using Sony Ericsson update service software, turning it back to 4.0.4 stock. So i am going again for root etc. I guess there should be an easier way so if anybody knows it please share.
and if any admin could fix that "rootloop" in the title....
cheers!
Yes, there is an easier way. Unlock your phone bootloader with one of two methods. I would choose testpoint method.
Just some tips: When you flash zip, always do wipe cache/data (don't wipe system like someone does), check that it is for locked bootloader, for Neo V not L or Neo etc. I never had those problems. Anyway, I don't see advantage of those ROMs on locked bootloader except of removing bloatware, which you can do by yourself.
And it is called bootloop not rootloop.

Let me clarify this to you first,
CM doesn't work on Locked Bootloader.
So if you're having locked bootloader, there is one way to fix this:
Reflash ICS .ftf & do the whole rooting, installing CWM Recovery procedure again. Go to recovery & install the ROM with instructions stated in ROM thread.
If you have unlocked the bootloader, two ways to solve this problem:
1. Flash any other ICS kernel. Go to recovery, wipe everything except SDCard of course xD
Then power off the phone & flash kernel from CM9 zip. Install CM9.
2. If above doesn't fix the problem, reflash the ICS .ftf again. Flash CM9 kernel & install the zip usual way.
Cheers!

If your Bootloader unlocked, you dont need install CWM or root your phone...
What you have to do is just flash kernel which have built-in CWM.
I advice you read again how to flash kernel,I see your post you install CWM,from that I know your bootloader NOT unlocked

Problem getting into Recovery Mode ST15i

Hello!
Please forgive me if i ask the wrong way here.
I would like to migrate from (rooted) ICS 4.0.4 to JB 4.2.2 Cyanogenmod 10.1 on my xperia mini st15i.
I remember me rooting it using gingerbread and flashtool a year ago, but i cant remember how i updated to stock ics. Most probably using the flashtool.
Now i have the problem that i cannot enter recover mode by pressing Volume down when turning on.
The system just starts into some safe mode.
Reading the last 4 hours arround makes me think that there is a cwm missing, but all tries to install cwm on my 4.0.4 phone fail (eg using x-parts).
Do you have a tip or advise how i can migrate from 4.0.4 to 4.2.2?
best regards,
b
First of all, you need an unlocked bootloader to flash any rom like 4.1 or 4.2. So unlock it and then go on
Now you choose the 4.2.2 rom (I guess cm10.1) and open the zip, flash the kernel boot.img from inside the zip using flashtool (or the fastboot.exe) and then install the rom
If I were you I'd first read many guides like for example my bootloader unlocking guide or my guide how to install a custom kernel/rom :good:

Thank you so much for your advice. I managed it to unlock the bootloader, even the automatic software (#2 in your tut) didnt recieve the unlock code. I had to get it per email from sony.
At restart it seems that all data was lost, and i am now ready to go to CM 10.1.
So if i understand you correctly, this is what i have to do now:
1) flash he boot.img from the shu_cm-10.1-20130519-UNOFFICIAL-anzu.zip - This will install CWM
2) when the mobile restarts i am now able to enter the cwm and install the zip which is on the sd-card
3) Enjoy 4.2.2
Is this correct?
best regards,
B

Yes, first you copy the cm10.1.zip and the gapps (google apps) for android 4.2.2 on your sdcard. Then you flash the boot.img for cm10.1 (from inside the zip) on phone and reboot in cwm (pressing volume down randomly or when the notification led lights up)
Now you are in cwm, there you wipe data/factory reset, wipe cache and then install zip from sdcard - choose zip - choose cm10.1, let it install. Afterwards you choose the gapps.zip. When the installation has finished, just reboot and enjoy android 4.2.2 :good:

Too bad - i think i bricked my phone in doing that.
I flashed the boot.img as said and tried to restart and enter cwm.
But the only thing that happens is the LED is pink and the screen switches on but stays black.
What did i wrong?
Lucky it seems still possible to enter fast flash mode and the flashtools recognize the phone
In the meanwhile i was able to flash a stock GB .42 and root it.
I tried to install cwm using x-parts but x-parts freezes during the installation and i get a notification that is has to be force-ended.
So i am struggling at installation of the cwm on my st15i.
I never thought that it is so nasty...
Instead of using flashtool, use some batch tools (like in my sig) to flash the kernel (boot.img) that came with cm rom.
Then try booting it, when fxp logo appears, press vol down.
If it didn't work, try some custom kernels like lupus or mesa and try again.

N
Which boot.img did you use? The one for mini (smultron)?
Btw let's go on via PM, we can try to solve it in German, maybe that's easier. We can post the solution in the end here
Btw for the next time you have a question, please post it in Q&A section :good:

Most Probably i took the wrong image.
Now i would like to try the correct one, but goo.im is (again) offline.
So i have to wait until its online again or i get a copy from somethere else...

The just wait until it's online again or try FXP cm10 again for smultron. Then flash the right gapps for 4.1.2

Finally i made it to 4.2.2 on the xperia st15i using CM10.1 from mike, and i am superhappy.
It really was all about the wrong image, and not finding the correct one, because goo.im was offline.
I love xda-dev :highfive: and its helpful community!
