Hello. I'd like to try an ad blocker that can be removed (and any changes it made removed) if it doesn't work as needed--causes Pandora to skip. Any recommendations?

can't stand using this thing now. by default it's on landscape and really annoying to use
is there a decent alternative? don't care if it blocks less ads, just something that doesn't look so retarded
Eh??? You mean it only displays in landscape?
Mine is fine.

Yes Adaway is a good alternative for adfree
can you run both together?

You can but AdAway won't auto update if you do. You'd have to launch it and have it reapply it's entries after AdFree does.

sometimes it helps...if you disable wifi & mobile data while playing games... the ads go away

If you experience blocking not to work on 3G but to work well on Wifi it could be related to the APN settings that changed when you upgraded from GB to ICS. If the APN has a proxy and a port set, just delete them. This worked for me using AdAway
Just forgot: here AdAway Issue 172 is some more information.
Try adaway available in the play store, it works perfectly.

What's the best app for downloading music you've found? I was using g-tunes music but recently it's not worked so well so any recommendations? I would prefer it not to put ads in my notifications

Removing the ads thing would be incredible, I heard Music Paradise(or something like that) was really good. And also thanks for all your mods you've done, still use the blue Inef one. Thanks

Didn't FernandoSor have to pull down his Pandora he modded with no ads and unlimited skips because it was considered "warez"? Or maybe the issue was due to Pandora having Pandora One which is paid and doesnt have ads?
I would be careful with that though.

Yeah I would think that as some sort of piracy. You are cheating them out of money with mods

Wow thanks for that recommendation. Nice UI, no ads, fast preview/downloads, and album artwork.

Close. It was not his mod to begin with. A friend stumbled across it and we themed it. After being posted for like two weeks it was decided to be considered warez, so he promptly removed it. Then the conversation turned to the hacked sprint WiFi hotspot that everyone posts in their roms and we left it at that. So warez are unfortunately hit and miss

Try Usound. Streaming and downloading with no special permissions needed. Has ads but no adware like others. You can get it on the market for free.

the best app i use to download is MusicJunk. Tip though: the newer versions of music junk dont work, you need V3.04.. imma save you the trouble of searching and extract a copy from my phone. Music Junk V3.04:MediaFire or you can dowload it here at 4shared Music Junk.apk
EDIT: for some reason the Mediafire Link downloads the apk into a " .txt" but a simple solution is just to rename it to "Music Junk.apk" (Without quotes). however the 4shared link downloads the apk just fine.
I had used Last.fm Free before it was taken off the old Market. It had the search functionality of Tunee Music and the ability to search by Last.fm tags and look up the Artist descriptions, similar artists, etc.
The UI wasn't pretty, but searching was fast and powerful... Apparently too powerful...
I am looking for a good SD blocking app. I haven't been able to find one on the market

Ad-Away 2.9.2
Here you go....this is the one, I use and have found it really good...
As the title says, I can't won't open any shortened links from Facebook, twitter, etc. Not even in facebooks internal browser, which is garbage anyway. I'm running JellyBeans22 ROM 4.1.2, but it's just the stock browser. Any advice?

any ad blocking or host file software? I'd disable those. If not Id try a different browser if that doesn't work I'd try a different rom. Newer heard of this.
Turns out it was ad blocker built in to the ROM. Rehashed and disabled it and it's good to go.... But now I have ads which bites. Why would an ad blocker block shortened URLs anyway?

I use adway it blocks some shortened urls. But I add them to the white list and it's golden.
Sweet, I'll have to check it out
