I'm not getting any notifications from my social media apps. I've made sure that the apps are set up with notifcations sounds. Sync is also set up.
Any suggestions?

Clear data in Application Manager and see if that sorts your issue.
Are stock, rooted, ROM.......?

With the latest pq and p7 i had an issue syncing phone calendar with exchange (you don't see exchange calendar entries)

Anyone found a solution for this?
ps. it it possible that nobody use exchange ??? this is sound very strange to me.....
hi
same problem for me
---------- Post added at 10:30 AM ---------- Previous post was at 10:25 AM ----------
To make it work (for me atleast)
1. remove the whole exchange account
2. Turn on auto-syncing across your phone.
3. add back your exchange account, but this time make sure on the initial account setup that you select an auto syncing interval (anything except never). I used every hour.
4. Wait a while and it should show up in calendar (it did for me)
I had the same issue and that fixed it, many thanks.

Thx man, solved the prob for my i9000 too !!
Anyone else notice that if you have exchange email sync disabled but calendar enabled, the calendar does not sync automatically?
I don't want to sync my exchange email but definitely need the calendar. I have to constantly hit the sync button in the calendar app for it to update. This type of setup worked fine on my Captivate running CM9 nightlies. Any ideas on how to fix it?
Edit: This post should probably be moved to the Q&A section. Sorry about that.
I'll check this out on my phone, however, I've noticed in general that the calendar sync on android is suspect.
---------- Post added at 08:17 AM ---------- Previous post was at 08:10 AM ----------
Mine sync'd almost immediately with email sync disabled. I would say within 60 seconds. I did notice that the widget didn't update until I opened the actual calendar application for my first test. I'm testing out when the widget updates as I type this.
How are you testing your calendar? I'm creating a new appointment on Outlook (desktop app) then making sure Outlook has updated Exchange before I am checking my phone.
I then look at the widget on my home screen first. (1x3 stock widget). Then go into the Calendar application.
I so far am noticing a delay of the widget updating, so far at 2 minutes, no widget update if I don't go into the actual Calendar App.
UPDATE: Widget does update, but there must be a refresh interval (so it doesn't drain CPU and battery) Took about 2.5 minutes for the widget to update.
---------- Post added at 08:20 AM ---------- Previous post was at 08:17 AM ----------
Also, removing a Outlook event from my phone takes about 60-120 seconds to reflect on the Exchange server, about what I would expect.

Pretty much testing like you. New meeting on my outlook calendar does not show up in the calendar app or widget until I hit the "sync" option. I've waited hours before...
strange I'm not having those problems.
Without giving away too much information in a public forum (feel free to PM me if you'd like)---
What version of exchange are you using? Do you know the architecture of the Exchange deployment? (Front-End & Back-End servers, etc?)

Not sure on the exchange setup... however I can tell you that it works just fine on CM9. I think it has something to do with the Samsung exchange stuff :\
Like I said, I'm not having the same problem as you. I am running stock Sprint S3 image. Maybe it's a carrier thing?
All,
Do I have to use the stock email and sms apps to view and respond emails and text messages? I'm currently using gosms and aqua mail. My e mail and sms folders are empty. Is there a workaround to this issue as I do not want to use the stock email and messaging apps to view/respond to messages on my S? Thanks in advance.
NOTE: If you are having issues with your email please include your provider, phone device, android verison, and which variant of GS you have.

Did you allow the watchphone to accept 3rd party apps so you can make them default?
Negative. I didn't see an option for that. Can you please tell me where to find it?

Thanks! Both options are checked. However, I cannot figure out how to receive emails in the email app. I've swiped in every direction & pressed/hold the center but it won't give me an option to add email addresses. Perhaps, I missed a step during start up.

Maybe you can erase all data and try to again to signup for your email . Anyone else successfully set up email? Have you add email under samsung gear manager my apps email then click the gear icon and add your email client?
I have set up the GS to sync with both the Outlook and Yahoo accounts using the stock phone email app. They seemed to be working at first but I am no longer receiving email notifications for new emails. Not sure what is up?

My emails are also not available over the stock email - but I do receive them via aqua mail - so what must I do in order to set up the email for the stock email app - when I add a new email account it is only on my note 4 but not on the gear ???
Did you add the e mail accts to your gear manager on your phone? If so, make sure they are checked. You won't receive old emails only new emails that come in your inbox.

Try this, under settings about gear it has USB debugging checkmark that box. On phone make sure Unknown Sources are checked. Make sure both accounts are checked in gear manager and restart the watch. Send a test email and see if that works. If not, the only thing I did differently was restore the watch and check the settings above.
Last note, you don't have to make any changes to aqua mail as it's not the issue. I'm not sure about Evernote. Good luck!

THIS
It was weird. I had to send myself an email and force the new notification to come to my Gear S. Only then could I use email on the watch for more than just viewing a new notification--i.e., I could reply.
I do wish it synced up my last 20 or so emails on my Note in my Email app ...
Also, what's with not being able to compose an email within the little Email app?! I can compose an email through a contact, but not through the Email app. The Messages app allows composing a new message by touching the three dots. Those three dots aren't in the Email app.
Sigh, I reset, even replaced the watch today at ATT. I receive emails but there is no way to reply only view. I can only reply to text messages. I running nine, Gmail and samsung email.

I have that for the message app. I returned the watch for a replacement today and same thing. Three different apps? One being the Samsung app. USB debug is checked and unknown sources on my note 3. I am going crazy. Samsung techs support says it doesn't n it support email replies. Lol that made chuckle

Other people have tried different email clients CloudMagic is on there are some others on the forum
You said you added the emails in gear manager under notifications and click the settins gear icon and added your emails there?
My Gmail tells me to look on the phone to respond and it has the 3 dots.
Yep and I can only view. There is no orange reply button. Two watches cannot be bad.
I'm having an issue with not getting Gmail notifications. I've set all permissions to allow notifications, turned off power saving modes and locked Gmail in the background.
But after all this, I still get no indication of a new email until I actually open Gmail.
Can anyone help?
It's only Gmail that I'm having this issue with, which is also confusing me.
Thanks.
Thats odd. My gmail is working fine with notifications. But gmail has a bunch of its own settings for notifications also. Did you make sure to enable them in the gmail app settings itself? Not where it takes you to the settings on the phone but within the app. I dont have to lock gmail in the backround for it to work either. Make sure that it is also taken off the app quick freeze list in battery settings. in the gmail settings on the phone settings itself after you allow notifications you also have to go into the email account listed there and allow notifications for that email account. Just enabling notifications for the gmail app itself wont notify you of emails.
Yeah, I've gone into the accounts listed and enabled notifications in there as well as the settings within the app itself.
If I go into settings>battery>custom power consumption Protection , Gmail isn't on the list of apps. I don't know why?
So I'm at a bit of a loss now why they aren't coming through as everything seems to be set up correctly.

In Battery>App quick freeze make sure gmail isnt toggled on.
In Battery>Smart Power Saver >Toggle Off
In Battery>Super High Power Efficiency> Toggle Off
In Gmail itself. Make sure you havent set emails to only notify you of priority inbox. I had that problem before as gmail will pop up from time to time to as you to turn on that setting. If you arent paying attention and just click ok like I did once it will drive you crazy.

Actually, No. Im on the Chinese ROM which is actually more restrictive. Ive actually gotten everything to work. Notifications, Backround processes, etc. The only problem I have is I cant get Location History in Google Maps to enable so Timeline doesnt work. And I cant seem to add my Visa cards in google wallet for some reason.
