[Q] Build Number JRO03C.I605VRALI3 - Verizon Samsung Galaxy Note II

I bought my Galaxy Note II off Swappa and am trying to root, ROM, etc. I can't do anything because I can not find my build number ANYWHERE else on XDA.
Build Number JRO03C.I605VRALI3
Has anybody seen this?
Adam's CASUAL does not work for me, and I don't want to try anything else that may brick my shiny new phone.
Thanks!

Is yours for Verizon even?

Yes. Well, I hope, ha.
It activated on verizon and makes phone calls. The data connection SUCKS tho. It will not maintain 3G or 4G at all. The kernel also looks suspect.

I feel like that's most likely not Verizon bro. I could be wrong but I think its another carrier's phone
Sent from my SCH-I605 using Tapatalk 2

actually, everything on my phone matches up with the screenshot here..
http://www.smartkeitai.com/verizon-samsung-galaxy-note-ii-sch-i605-emerges-screenshot/

As far as I know that build number was for a pre-release build for VZW.
Does the home button on your phone say Verizon on it? And what date does it say for the kernel?

The home button does have the Verizon logo.
The date is the same for my Kernel as shown in the screenshot. Everything on my phone matches that screenshot.
Thanks!

Sorry for the double post... there is one difference. My hardware version is I605.06

Im thinking tomorrow I am going to try to use ODIN and get onto (hopefully) the software that should have shipped with the phone. Any advice as to which .tar I should use?

What the Sam hell? This is a new one on me, could you perhaps have gotten a Dev phone ?
Sent from my SCH-I605 using XDA Premium HD app

i can not, for the life of me get this thing off of the damn software it is on.
Odin hangs on either "Get PIT for mapping" or "Setup Connection" if I do not try to use the PIT file. I have tried it on 3 different laptops, in Windows 7 and in Windows XP.
CASUAL does not work either.
I am at a loss.... anybody have a suggestion?

Try grabbing a new a baseband via a radio zip perhaps?
I thought if you hit that screen you have a hardware problem.

this is the weird part... that screen only comes up when i try to enter recovery mode. the phone functions pretty much without flaw when booted normally, but I am stuck on whatever software was flashed to it. Odin wont flash anything.

And you're trying the right version of casual? You're on old firmware so you should be using casual for VRALI3.
EDIT: If casual even goes back that far, I've only had this phone for a couple months but I think Adam started doing casual in January, and this firmware was updated to VRALL4 in december pretty sure. So you either have to figure out how to root VRALI3 or update your firmware, then maybe casual will work for you.

thanks.
VRALI3 is a pre-release firmware... thats why i cant take an OTA, and i tried all 3 CASUALs

i am considering following this method http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1840030
but i dont know where to get Note II boot chain files.... anyone?

Hi all,
This was my phone previously which I sold to greekchampion04 via Swappa. I was previously running PA 3.5 on it on Verizon with no issues. Here's the steps that I took to reflash it to stock before I sent it off from memory:
Downloaded Galaxy Note 2 toolkit from here
Opened it, selected Verizon model SCH-I605 (option 121)
Selected option 8 - Download, Extract + Flash Stock Rom via Odin 3.07
Wipe Data/Factory Reset
Install stock ROM
ReFlash stock recovery via Odin
I then successfully noted the phone had booted into stock Touchwiz, checked that it made it through the Welcome intro, boxed it and mailed it off.
greekchampion04 has been VERY patient and receptive to helping this get resolved, and I want to do anything in my power that I can to help. If there's any information I can provide, I'm happy to do so!

Damn, good luck GC.

Question, does that strange Power Reset menu only come up when booting into Recovery, or when booting into Download Mode as well? To me, if it's doing it in only Recovery, that the current recovery is corrupt and needs to be reflashed (duh either way). Have you been trying Odin on that Power Reset screen, or when in Download mode (if it exists), Download Mode being Power Key + Vol Down + Home button. Recovery mode of course being Volume Up + Power + Home (held until Recovery mode comes up).
If so, what does Odin do during both of those respective modes? I'd guess no connection at all during the recovery weirdness, and the freezing during the PIT attempts when in Download mode. Perhaps try using the Galaxy Note 2 toolkit? I'm not sure what value that might have, but it is "automated" to an extent.

yes, and i can still put files on there
actually i'm pretty sure all my problems can be solved by having debug mode enabled, which would allow ODIN access to my machine as well as the possibility of ADB commands
problem is, usb debugging is NOT enabled and i have no idea to enable it with these damn scan lines happening
is there any way to "force" debugging on?
what the hell! it isn't even being recognized by adb!
->adb devices
returns no attached devices
and yet i have another window open with the tablet's internal memory visible
what gives?

with some difficulty, yes
it's tough to time though, because i have no visual feedback on the rainbow screen, so oftentimes it goes into a reboot because i held the button too long
plugging it in to charge helps this somewhat, because i can tell it's off if the charging splash screen is visible and animating
i think the general term for what i have is a "soft brick", but without access to download or recovery mode i'm not sure where to go for a fix

After you did this and returned to stock, have you been able to download the OTA with touchwiz? I had this same corrupt display problem, followed the directions from zedomax to return to stock and unroot but when I try to download the latest updates and get touchwiz it says I'm up to date (after a small 11mb update which did NOT include touchwiz).
All I want now is to be back to stock with touchwiz like I was before. :/

Hrrm, you might need to do things unofficially, surely there's a rom out there like what you want? Starburst is pretty cool, like a faster version of touchwiz

Yes I think you're right. I was wanting to try Starburst anyway which is based off the touchwiz rom. That would have what I want plus more (faster overall and over-clocking!).
What I'm not sure about is which one do I pick? From here: http://downloadandroidrom.com/file/GalaxyTab10.1/roms/StarBurstROM/
Or is there a newer one than those? I can't tell from the starburst thread if what's on there is newer than on that site or not...
The biggest thing I want, besides getting TW back, is adhoc mode so I can connect to my iPad 3G w/ MyWi (#1 reason for me to root anyway). I wish google would just allow adhoc stock. Apple does with iOS, I don't see why google can't.
same issue
I tried to get the overclocking installed and now I get the rainbow scanlines
I get the download option but I cannot put the hc-31 file onto my sdcard to start the unroot process.
Any help would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks,
Brian

Lol...don't expect to get an immediate response from someone. What you need to do is quite being lazy and do some quick research in the the Q & A section.
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=849028
Now what exactly was it you were flashing? What GB rom did you flash? and was it a .tar file that you flashed along with the 512.pit file?
You should try removing your battery/simcard/sdcard and then try getting into download mode. Don't worry if the yellow android dude doesnt appear. As long as the screen shows some kind of error with a picture of a phone with an (!) mark well then you are good to go. Your PC should still be able to recognize your device. Try different USB ports. Just flash back to stock 2.1 using the guide above if you are able to get into download mode.
thank you, i did some reading and i think i need a jig to get back into dl mode. have tried a lot of different ways to get into dl mode before posting this. thanks for your advice. appreciated.

Here is the guide i meant to post. This guide will probably get your phone to boot.
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=848737
Do you get any power at all? If so then that is a good sign.
Pull your battery and plug in your USB to your computer and open Odin. Do not have your phone attached to the USB yet. Now with Odin open and your battery pulled, (this part is tricky) Hold the Volume +/- and put your battery in and plug your phone in. You do not need to see the Android with the shovel to be in download mode. What you need to see is that yellow COM box in Odin. Once you see that then you are good to go.***See below
Few things:
It may take you a few tries to do this.
If you are not getting any power at all, you may have corrupted your bootloader when you prematurely stopped the install the first time. If this is the case, then sorry to say, but you are screwed and have hard bricked your phone.
Merio- Take it easy on the guy, he is in full blown panic mode and we have all been there. Remember when you got the Encryption Bug?

If you are getting a "Phone.. ! ..Computer" image (seen above) when booting phone, yes, you are bricked but it is reversible! Just follow these steps...
Make sure you have ODIN OPEN with admin privileges!
1.) Take off your back cover, remove your sim & mirco sd card.
2.) Remove your battery.
Make sure you have the USB plugged into your PC but NOT your phone!
3.) Hold the volume buttons.
4.) Put the battery in.
5.) Put the USB in.
You don't necessarily need the download mode image to be present. As long as you are getting the COM ID to light up yellow in ODIN, just flash back to stock like normal.

You could try to Jtag it (mobilcity something-use the search in Q&A or General and it shoudl pop up). Not sure about selling it on Ebay as you'll have to disclose it as bricked. Once you get a new one, come'on back and we'll take care of you.

Thanks Brother,
I was researching places last night and found this same site. I will be shipping it off this weekend to be jtaged. I am glad that they fixed yours.
I was also looking on ebay for galaxy s and sII. I found a listing that a guy had just posted for a sII. He wanted $280 for it which I thought was a steal, I went to take a shower and think about it and when I came back 10 minutes later it was sold. AI missed it.

Not sure if its bricked !?!?!?!

OK I dont think that is going to be an option as my pc does not see the device attached via USB.
And when I have Odin running it cant see the device
Sudgestions?
1.It will surely not wipe photos, because you don't format the internal SD.It just removes apps,contacts...
2.look at my signature and follow my guide. If your PC can't see phone, then look for Hopper8's thread(link in guide or search on XDA)
Do you want your phone fixed or not ? I remember you from a couple of months back with that app that you refused to accept would only run on unrooted stock. And here we are fast forwarded a couple of months & again you're refusing to accept the advice/method to fix you've been given (which works & takes all of a couple of minutes; and if it doesn't work first go you look for Hopper8's 'Odin won't flash' thread).
You can either fix the phone or not. No skin off our noses either way *shrugs*

[Q] [Xperia Sola]Stuck on Boot Logo & CWM and Fastboot Troubles

Hello everyone, posting here after a long time.
Getting straight to the business. Yesterday, I put my phone down and had a sleep. But in the morning when I woke up finding that the alarm had failed to go off, I checked my phone and was surprised to find it turned off. I tried switching it on but it won't turn on. I thought that the battery had died, so I put it to charge. But while booting up, the 5 LEDs lit up but the phone just won't go beyond the boot logo. So I just let it charge for some time and then forced restart it and went to CWM. CWM showed me numerous errors, like this while starting CWM

I tried changing the kernel using Fastboot but that didn't make any difference; instead after 3 attempts my phone was recognized as "???????? fastboot".
I'm totally stumped. I don't know what happened that my phone drained its battery and then refuses to go past the Boot logo.
So, can anyone help me out please? I was on Ultimate ROM v11 with Experimental v9.0b Kernel.
Thanks.

If it's a hardware problem they probably will have to replace the MB which not going to be cheap.

Sadly, flash mode just doesn't work.
So what do you guys suggest? Shall I give it to Sony Service guys for a repair?

press the power button for few seconds, until you get 4 vibrations. First one vibration and then continuous 3 vibrations. After that leave the mobile for few minutes, say for 10 minutes. And then try connecting it in fastboot or flashboot. If you can get into flashboot, just flash the stock ROM. and then boot it in to fastboot.
Well, I didn't knew what I did, but here's my solution.
I enter to fastboot mode (blue light) and flash a boot.img from a ROM, I flashed the munjenis kernel.
Then I flashed the eXperience ROM and installed it, no problem, but still stuck at Sony logo, well, after screaming because I realized I bricked my phone, I got an idea, flashed the FXP kernel and later on flashed the CM10 and it worked!
Doesn't get stuck anymore but Wi-Fi doesn't work, I think that is a ROM's bug.
You can try that.
Well guys, thank you so much for your responses.
I gave it to the Sony guys and they told me that the MB would be changed.
So, I bought a new Xperia SP and now Sola is just a show piece lying about in my house. Anyways, thanks a lot everybody.

[GUIDE] How to flash STOCK ROM on ANY J3 2016

This is not anything new for experienced users, but it will help the newbies.
NOTE: This is, still, the standard process to flash stock ROMs on ANY Samsung running Android, you can use the same drivers, software and key combo for Download mode on other variant or model, what you need to change is the firmware file of course. So feel free to use this guide as reference.
The Stock ROM or Stock Firmware is the software that comes preinstalled in your phone when is brand new, in this case is Samsung's own modification of Android called TouchWiz. If you ran into problems like system apps FCs all the time, bootloops, softbricks,etc... Or if you adventure on the "custom world" (Root, Xposed, aftermarket roms, etc) and things go south, it happens... The stock rom can be flashed to fix those problems and/or get your phone back to a working state again, hence the importance of this procedure.
The tool to flash firmwares on Samsung phones running Android is called Odin, and in order for Odin to recognize your phone in Download Mode (more on that later) it also needs some drivers. You can download both things from the following links:
Odin 3.10 from MEGA*
<Mod Edit> 4shared link removed
PLEASE READ [*]
1. Both files are in .RAR5, so you need to use WinRAR 5 or above to be able open them.
2. They also are password protected (sorry about that, but i offer them on several sites already). Password is: Tecnoriales
Now you need the firmware for your SPECIFIC MODEL, country and carrier are not important, but model IS, deadly. So, don't even try to flash another variant stock rom in you phone, you can and will end up with a hard brick, and good luck fixing that.
Sammobile is the biggest repository for Samsung firmwares, so use that.
J320F and DS - J320F and J320F/DS (Dual SIM) are the same.
J320FN
J320H
J320M
J320FXXU0AQL1 Mirror on MEGA (Netherlands) - I downloaded it from Sammobile and re-uploaded to MEGA. Same .RAR5 stuff and Tecnoriales password.
For any other variant or any Samsung phone for that matter, use the search tool with your model: https://www.sammobile.com/firmwares/
How to flash the Stock ROM using OdinBefore you star please charge your battery to 100%.
1. Install the Samsung Drivers
2. Turn off your phone and enter Download Mode pressing Vol+- Home and Power. Youll see a warning in the screen, accept it pressing Vol+.

3. Plug your phone to the PC using your usb cable and give it some time for the driver to kick in if it is the very first time.
4. Run Odin as Admin. Check the COM Port is illuminated and you see Added in the log below.
5. Click the AP button and load the *.tar file you downloaded from sammobile. i. e.: J320FXXU0AQL1_J320FDBT0AQK1_J320FXXU0AQI1_HOME.tar.md5 - At this point Odin will hang (stop responding) for some time while it loads the firmware file, that will depend on your PC, from some seconds to a couple of minutes. Be patient.
6. Once Odin un-freezes, go to Options Tab and make sure Re-Partition is unchecked.
7. Press Start to initiate the flashing process, it will take a while. The phone will reboot and when you see a green Pass in Odin it will be safe to unplug your phone..
First boot might take some time depending on the condition of your phone. That's it, your phone should be working again as intended (by Samsung).
Extra: Recovery Mode key combo with phone turned off is Vol+, Home and Power, from here you can perform a Factory Reset.
All the above information is in this video i made. Video is in Spanish tough.
Sorry for my english, good luck and happy flashing.
Does this apply to the SM-J327P? It would greatly help newer users

For any Samsung running Android, since idk, the original Galaxy S? The process has not changed. Of course youll need to download the SPECIFIC Rom for your J327P.

Thank you i appreciate it ?
Does this also restore stock recovery too?
I'm trying to avoid flashing twrp so that I can backup stock recovery but I can't get fastboot to work so my only option would be to flash the custom recovery onto the phone.
I don't want to be stuck without a way to restore stock recovery in case something goes wrong.

Even though it was mentioned this is the wrong page I don't see why you can't be given some helpful info. The firmware you're looking for to get Android 7.1 is, J320W8VLU2BQK1 J320W8OYA2BQK1 (Its listed for Canada) search for it online.
**Note
If you cant get through the welcome screen. Reset data on recovery
I can't get Odin to work on my SM-J320A (ATT version)
its running this firmware i think: J320AUCS3BQL2
and nougat 7.1.1
holding volume down + home + power. Odin mode starts and asks for confirmation. (volume up to continue, volume down to restart) But nothing happens. LOL All i can do is pull the battery and if i try recovery mode it says "No command", hangs for awhile then goes into recovery mode.
Is USB debugging on, required?
Odin mode works fine on my other Galaxy phones. Anyone have this issue before? thanks

Thanks.
Update: my soft brick issue is fixed now. (it was stuck on a boot loop for awhle but seems to have fixed itself after 20 reboots)
So i can boot into operating system.
Next i turned on OEM unlock and USB debugging but Odin mode still doesn't work, though.
Now, another minor problem. The home button doesn't work, but seems physically okay (this phone has barely been used and looks pristine) Could be a firmware issue related to Dalvik Cache. but without being able to flash firmware i cannot confirm. Recovery mode still shows a "No command" screen, dead robot, and 50 seconds later goes into what looks like stock recovery.
Update 2. Tried factory reset which seems to have helped. it boots faster into the operating system now. :good:
so i did this now i wanted to install touchwiz rome on 6,0,1 android but it bootloops i hear i need some baseband but what baseband i need someone can help pls
Looking for J320A

What did you end up doing to pull this off? I've got the exact same model phone, but cannot seem to find the firmware on Sammobile.
