[Q] Unroot Stock ROM - T-Mobile HTC One (M7)

I have a rooted HTC One with the stock ROM on it. I need to relock and reflash just to delete all data. It is as easy as locking and hard booting the device? Just asking cause I don't see a PHM98.ZIP file in root to load from bootloader which is what I had on my Rezound.
Thanks in advance.

[Q] Need Root - Confirmation Pls

Been reading the guides but I need confirmation. Pls correct me if I'm wrong.
my goal is to get ROOT on the stock ROM and the ability to unroot if needed.
In order to obtain root, I must:
- Unlock bootloader
- Install CWR
- Apply the Superuser file or install a custom ROM with root
If I go through this method, can I reverse everything? Like re-locking the bootloader, remove CWR, and unroot?
Am I missing something simple just to simply root the device? Pls advise. THX in advance.

Rooting part is correct.
To unroot, relock bootloader and flash the stock ROM. Simple as that.

[Q] Rooting Xperia JB - Will this work?

Hi,
As we all know unless we downgrade and stuff, or install custom recoveries (which require some hackeries) we can't root the latest firmware.
I came across this method: http://whiteboard.ping.se/Android/Rooting
It uses the original boot.img and edits it then using fastboot it flashes it with the su binaries and security turned off.
Would this work on our Xperia?
Thanks
Probably, but you'd need to unlock your bootloader...
That kind of defeats the purpose. I'm trying to not do that
I want to be able to install OTA updates and support.
You can alway relock back once rooted. By that, you can OTA update safely and keep rooting

Ok so if I follow that guide to get root, unlock bootloader, flash the new boot, and relock bootloader, I will be able to install OTA?
Won't that brick my device since I have a modified boot.img?
In order to relock the bootloader you must firdt change back to a stock kernel, otherwise you will brick the phone, wich luckily is recoverable...
Even if yo relock on custom kernel, you will also can enter in fastboot mode to flash stock one

Quick question about root and ota

Hey everyone, I've done some research and found plenty of people trying to keep root while accepting an OTA, but couldn't find anything pertaining exactly to my question. does anyone know if i accept the next OTA from att will it unroot and remove the tampered banner on my m8? all i've done is root my device. haven't changed anything or flashed anything other than twrp recovery. just want to go back to stock as easily as possible.
thanks for any help

You need to flash stock recovery, or the OTA won't install. In fact, you might even get stuck in a bootloop as the phone repeatedly boots into TWRP, looking for stock recovery (to install the OTA) and not finding it.
Also, if any system files have been modified by root, you need to return them to "stock" state. Otherwise the OTA will fail to install, saying the system has been modified. You can either return any system files to stock manually, or flash a stock ROM, nandroid, or RUU.
You will lose root when you OTA. But its an easy manner to just flash TWRP again, and flash SU/SuperSU to gain root. Unlocked bootloader is okay for OTA, so you don't even need to relock, unlock again, etc. to flash TWRP. But locked bootloader is required for RUU (unless you have s-off) if you choose that route in the paragraph above.

Possibly Bricked My Phone

So today I think I really messed up I will tell you the run down. I first put on twrp and then flashed a custom rom. After that the rom wasn't working properly so I tried to revert back to stock without a backup (I know I am dumb ). After reverting back to stock unsuccessfully I locked the bootloader not knowing that it wouldn't let me launch into the already installed custom software's so now I am stuck in download mode not able to unlock bootloader for some reason and not able to access the rom and the recovery. Any help would be very appreciated. Have I really bricked my phone?
can't you just run an RUU since your bootloader is relocked?
