You can flash via flashtool the one posted before excluding baseband.
I have 6.1.1.B.1.10, I'll upload it for you.

Why do you need GB to sell it? It won't make a huge difference and the buyer is probably gonna end up upgrading it anyway
Anyway, here's the link for ICS in case it's useful for someone https://www.dropbox.com/s/7jfez2tekoajpuz/ST25a_6.1.1.B.1.10_None.ftf
Is imposible to find wit, there are some but all have bloatware of the carriers.
If you need it PM me
The ics baseband should still work on GB

Jep, I agree with ingbrzy. Try the latest firmware 2.3.4. It´s working fine to me. I had some problems with 2.3.3 but now they gone, if I flashed to 2.3.4!
HAPPY FLASHING!
Ok thanks that sounds very nice.
I only hope there is swedish in that version.
Then I will try it.

Yes it does have swedish, just like your current version the only thing that differs is that the CSC is set to SER(Russia) so you wont be able to update with kies the next time around
Is there such a list available? Like for Samsung, it had some websites providing download of almost all of the stock roms.
can someone help? I also want to know this.
We don't know any Sony Ericsson firmware websites at the moment.

Good luck.. Hope you will post some screenshot afterwards..
The baseband is still 72 ?
just a curious question, does the home launcher in 4.1.B.0.587 is smoother now like in GB? the only reason i had moved to my own ported miui because of it's too lag in 4.0.4
Out of curiosity which country is this update for?, I'm still waiting for the original ICS update in UK, and my phone is sim free, and they haven't updated the SI Numbers for a month.
recieved the update here .. in egypt
Anyone can post the ftf file?
Hey plz tell us more: D

PC Companion says the update is there, but it fails while starting the update process. It is globally failing now, for Ray and other phones.
So, no update for the moment

i'll download NOW
btw, did you lose the ROOT ???
Wonder what the deal will be with rooting this one? Hopefully it won't be like ICS 4.0.4. - i.e. using Flashtool to flash 4.0.3 kernel (then root & CWM) and then flashing back to 4.0.4 again. Then again, if someone posts up an .ftf for .587 it should be straightforward enough. Hopefully anyway!:fingers-crossed:!
I got update in georgia but same global fail while downloading firmware.. almost bricked my phone..
I got the update, UI just like previous stock one, but feels lot more smoother than before. I added some screenshots

The mentioned rooting method worked. I guess it will still be the only method for locked bootloader.

Yes, this for international version, I'm uploading the american version too.
And I confirm that can root and install clockwork mod such in 431 firmware.
Just flashed to 4.1.B.0.587. The UI is definitely smoother, and the camera lag seems to be gone as someone else has pointed out. Also the phone in general seems to be faster. I can also confirm like the others that the rooting trick for 4.1.B.0.431 works on this new firmware.
Could you guys please post some link with rooting instructions and necessary files to achieve it? Thanks a lot.
guys what about led notification? sms, missed call? working or not?
So, today in my country Sony released the ICS update (ST25a model) and I want to test it, but I flashed another ROM and I can't get the official update of my carrier. There's any way to get that new firmware?
There's any website that recopiles all the firmwares like samsung?
Thanks!

Hi guys,
I have a Sony Xperia U (st25i) and the bootloader is locked
So i've gathered I can't root the phone unless i'm in ICS. This is the problem tho... I am with T-Mobile and am currently running Android 2.3.7.
My question is, in my current situation how do I upgrade to ICS (T-Mobile says I have the latest upgrade) also i'm assuming once i'm in ICS I can do some fancy stuff than compared to the Android version I'm in right now !!
Thanks for any help guys.

Hi bz786,
I was in a similar situation like you. had a Xperia U and SIM locked to a company. Instead of endless waiting for the company to release the ICS, I just did flash by myself.
Well... there would be no fancy stuff anyway.. unless you root it and install a custom ROM cuz the stock ROM or company ROM always uses up most of the tight 512M ram cap...
Cheers,

Hey bz786!
Dont worry you can flash the firmware yourself using the programm "flashtool". Just do some research in google. And here is a link for a .54 firmware and "root-tuorial" http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?p=34983966
And by the way, you post.this request in the wrong forum! :what:
Hope it helped

Thanks guys! I went ahead and used flashtool but... now I have a problem
So once ICS was installed I was ecstatic however my 3G was not working. So what I did was go to the phone settings and download the internet settings again but now the 3G is much slower than previously on Gingerbread. I think I messed something up with the baseband or installed a firmware which has the incorrect firmware settings (for me).
Does anyone know where I can download (UK, UNITED KINGDOM - This is a must I think for the 3G) Sony Xperia U ST25i T-Mobile ICS stock ROM? (Wow that's a mouthful LOL)
Thanks guys!
Pribably you didnt exclude baseband when you flashed ics, because almost all ics here is for i version and you have a, just reinstall ics again and exclude baseband
