Recharge disabled by high temp. protection - Galaxy S III Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Hi, i have the phone in my signature and i have the stock "Ema2" firmware installed into phone.
When i use my phone as navigator in my car (i don't have air conditioning in my car) the temperature reaches about 57 Centigrade degrees and the phone give me the message that the recharge has been disabled for every one minute!!
How can i eventually keep a lower temperature?
Or how can i avoid the persistent popup and to continue the recharge or just delete the popup?

decrease the frequency, lower the cpu voltage, lower the charging amperage

Although really, it shouldn't be getting so hot during navigation. Usually navigation is what makes the phone hottest (and playing games) but it shouldn't be getting as hot as it is.
I would consider contacting your carrier / samsung to discuss the matter further.
Unless of course, you're over-supplying it with "electricity"

@Glebun
Last time i reduced my cpu voltage i was forced to restored default setting because the phone restarted continuously..:banghead:
But i can try to low little voltage..
But for the frequency reduction i think that the phone will have many lags...
Instead for the amperage solution i will have a slow recharge but perhaps at least i can solve the issue partially..
@rootSU
What do you mean when you say i'm over-supplying with electricity?
I have default values in my phone for recharge...
Sent from rooted Int. Galaxy S3 with stock JB, Siyah Kernel 1.9.1 using Tapatalk 2- Rome, Italy

those are the only possible software solutions

Some car chargers supply 2000 mA. If you have one of these, it's probably too much. Hopefully, the phone restricts it but who knows for sure?

Don't make more threads then one. One is enough. Its called double posting and its against the rules.

It may just be that you are in a warm climate, the dashboard area is very hot generally....(my lighter got left in my truck on the dash and got a cracked windscreen as a result!)

Really I use a cover-battery with my phone and the car charger supply is 700mA (the current for charge is 1000mA as has written on original charger).
Anyway it would be enough to disable the persistent notify..
For what concern the double post i posted in a wrong area and JJEgan informed me of a proper Q/A area for S3.

Do NOT download any systemui.apk files from that thread. You should fetch the one from your device instead and apply the patch on it (the patcher is what you should download from there). If you really are on 100% stock JB, this would also mean it is an odexed ROM, you can't easily apply this on such a ROM.
Can you pull the systemui.apk from your device and post it here?

From your mod thread:
"Instructions:
Download and unpack "BatteryPatch.zip", you should now have "Patch.js" jscript along with the "utils" directory.
Fetch your "/system/app/SystemUI.apk" from the device, place it in the same directory, along with the "Patch.js".
Apply the patch by launching "Patch.js" and push the patched SystemUI.apk back to the device.
"
Should i follow these operations on pc for Windows Os?
Sent from rooted Int. Galaxy S3 with stock JB, Siyah Kernel 1.9.1 using Tapatalk 2- Rome, Italy

Yes, those are instructions to follow on a Windows OS PC. But looking at your systemui.apk - it IS odexed. The patcher WILL fail. Sorry, but to do this on an odexed ROM i would practically need to deodex an entire thing, patch it and reodex this apk. Your best option is probably installing another, deodexed, ROM, one that you can either apply my patch easily on, or even one that doesn't have this popup to start from (CM, AOSP, etc).
Learn what's the differences between "odexed" and "deodexed" ROMs here - http://www.redmondpie.com/odexed-vs-deodexed-the-difference-between-the-two-android-roms-explained/

Yeah. If you don t want to change ROM, then just deodex it yourself using Universal Deodexer and deodex everything. Provided you are rooted. Then apply the patch to it. Keep a Nandroid backup ofcourse.
Edit : - 57 degrees C that is freaking ridiculous it should not get that hot.

Thank you both for your aid!!
It's a long procedure and i hope to complete it well..
@lnF X
Isn't enough handle the systemui.apk that i uploaded?
Why did you tell to pull the file?
The guide that you suggested is not easy but i sommarimaly understood something...
@dhirend_6d
Where can i find the framework file?
And to execute the lnFX's patch need i deodexed all apps installed on phone?
Apply the patch...and reodex the apps.
How can i reodex the apps?
When i reodex the apps these will be overwrote on former odex apps (Don't i have to restore factory settings)?
P.S.: the temp i measured throught System Panel Pro and measures about 5 degrees up than another app i have, the BatteryLife. I don't know which is the correct measured.
Anyway i think, independently of sun or gps, the phone overheats much perhaps due the configuration or by many apps installed on it.

I told you to pull the file because this allowed me to see if it comes from an odexed ROM or not. If it wouldn't be odexed i would run the patch for you and attach the patched file.
BTW, the guide IS easy... the original one i've posted actually guides you through baksmaling, manually, and applying the diffs manually as well

Tell the f-ing Israeli weather here to not get to 35C in the summer as a NORMAL, not an unusually hot, days. Now imagine a car here, parked under the dreaded Israeli sun... now i come in, start it up thinking "why can't they make air conditioners that start at full power, immediately", put the phone into it's holder, plug it in, start Waze (nav app) and start driving...
* Hot car
* Even hotter phone holder
* Battery being charged
* CPU being abused by the nav app
PS: do you still thing 57C is ridiculous?

The stuff you want to deodex is in /system/app/ and /system/framework/.
Deodex everything is what i will suggest. And then apply patch. And then kepp it deodexed.
Reodexing can be a bot tricky plus deodexed apps and framework allows you to theme more easily.

I've been actually thinking about supporting systemui.odex files in my automatic patcher... but then i've started hunting for it's dependencies... and then for the dependencies dependencies... so eventually i would need to pull half of the ROM!!! Sorry... not gonna happen.

Swapping The Kernel in ICScrewd?

I have been having numerous issues trying to get ICScrewd to run on my phone and I am almost certain its a kernel issue.
It was suggested that I swap out the kernel before flashing and that sounds like a great idea to me.
Except...... I don't know how.
Is it as simple as taking the zImage from the kernel zip I want and placing it in the rom zip I want?
Can I ignore the META-INF folder or do I need to somehow merge that over too?
I am sure there is a wiki or a how-to on this but I have looked and cant find it. Its probably because I don't know phrase my search.
But anyway, if someone could point me in the right direction I would be very grateful.

Yup it is that simple, just replace the file with the one you want.
You can also clean up with kernel cleaning script then flash entropy kernel in recovery

My poor phone locks up even in recovery running Siyah. Its crazy.
I am going to try this like you suggested in your thread.
I should be reporting back soon.
It worked!
So far, so good.
I havent had a single locked up screen or SOD since I flashed.
Thanks guys!
Interesting, i've been using siyah for a long time and never experienced any issues.

Just curious since I have never tried a mod with any major changes, what are the benifits of changing out the Kernel, and what are the differences between them?

For myself the benefit was actually being able to run the ICScrewd rom at all.
In my experience of several years of flashing, some kernels just wont work with some phones.
It sound odd and all that, but my real world experience has led me to give each kernel I am interested in several tried and if they continually crash my phone I move on. I have no idea why this would be. Coming from the Captivate I tried all sorts of kernel and rom combinations. If they didn't work well I just moved on.
As far as different kernels go, some have better battery life than others due to built in tuning I believe. They can be cleaned up to help your phone run faster. And obviously from my experience here in this thread, help your phone be stable.
Excuse my noobness, please. I figured this would be a pretty relevant thread to post this question.
I flashed Siyah 2.6.9 via Odin and then in recovery installed ICScreweD. Did doing so revert my kernel to the older version of Siyah used in the rom?
If so, can I just flash in the newer version using Odin or should I research another method?
This is my first root/mod so I'm still a little nervous about messing up.

yes this reverted to the older kernel included in the rom, to flash the newest kernel. Load the zip of the kernl onto your sd card, enter CWM and flash the zip. Much easier to do than with odin.
Thanks! I was pretty sure that was the case but figured I should ask anyway. I've been lurking these forums for a while and it's awesome how helpful this community is to everyone.
While on the subject of ICScreweD, is there anything I will lose by going to the green edition? The website is kinda unclear as to if there are any features not yet available in the green edition.

[Q] best tweaks on stock rom 2.3.6

Hi, i am using my new android device....i.e. Galaxy Ace 2.3.6 ddkq8 . i would lyk to knw what all can i do with my fone... i.e. root , which apps to install or uninstall (bloatware) so that i may get the best battery back up......my requirements:-
1) want to stay on stock rom, until official CM rom arrives.
2) would be using gprs alot (2G)...for whats app and browsing
3) i use my fone for messaging generally ( 150-200 msgs a day).....30 minutes of voice calls max..
4) one day of battery backup is enough for me ( if its possible )
if anyone could give me some details about some root apps ,tweaks, battery saver apps etc it would be quite helpful.
P.S. - i wud like to keep my gprs ON through out the day....my friend has a galaxy Y....keeps his gprs data ON throughout the day for whats app and plays games for an hour or so... and still easily gets a full day of battery backup...
1.) You are soo outdated bro. CM7 official is already out for ace
2.) There's a patch for better GPS for CM7 by lagloose (I think) in dev section. check it out
3.) Lagfree v3 and Turboboost 8.5. After flashing both, open root explorer, navigate to system/etc/init.d delete s78 touch sumthing rhen change the remaining tweak's permissions to rwxrwxrw (correct me if im wrong)
4.)Download Juicedefender from market. Buy Ultimate or plus if you want but I really recommend any of the versions.
Moreove the unofficial ones (i feel) r on par with the official ones and have more tweaks preinstalled than what the official nightly hass...its ur call at the end of the day...

actually i dont knw why but i still want to stick with the stock one for a while .......if u could help me with battery saving tips on my stock rom it wud of gr8 help guys and ya thanx for informing about the official CM release

Stock ROM 2.3.6 has the BEST BATTERY LIFE EVER. Even better than 2.3.4. Because in the changelog of AOSP, 2.3.5 and 2.3.6 has better battery life.
I always get at least 20 hours of battery life when using stock (and usually get 1d 2h), while on Cyanogenmod I usually get 20-21 hours max. Mileage may vary though, the way I use my phone is different than yours.

thanks a lot man....u have been of gr8 help...one more question ...off the topic though (sorry)......
1)does this stock rom (2.3.6 ddkq8) support apps2sd....read that while u partition ur sd card..""if the rom supports apps2sd""...it will transfer the files to ext3......to clear internal memory (main problem in Galaxy ace).
2) after partition ...if i try to move apps to sd card from the fone's stock application manager...will it be transferd to the same EXT3?
3) diffrence btween link2sd and app2sd...do they perform the same task?
( I knw i should be asking this question in a different thread....but just have these 3 doubts to be cleared....wud b quite thankful if any 1 helped. )
cm7.2 rc1 issues
The Official CM 7.2 RC1 arrived but things that are not working...
Proximity sensor
Capacitive buttons light up Randomly for no reason
Torch not working substitute can be "tiny flash light"
that are the problems i noticed
for me the main problem is the proximity sensor
tried to find some solution for that with no success...
so that are the reasons for me to stay on stock until that all is fixed

1. Once you have flashed CF-Root Kernel, DT A2SD should work.
2. With A2SD, all apps are moved to ext partition. All of them. So it's better to move all apps to phone memory once you enabled A2SD, so it doesn't overlap.
3. They do the same. But unlike A2SD, With Link2SD you can select which app goes to the ext partition. IMO it's great but I can never get it to work here
And hey, there is ext4 already, faster than ext3

[MOD] Build.prop - Full Market Access

*Updated to Sensation fingerprint*
Can't download or even play certain apps or games such as Gameloft's N.O.V.A.3?
Follow the below steps to make your HTC ETO 4G LTE disguise itself as a HTC Sensation to get the best of the Google Play Store.
Tested working on stock ROM with Root and SU.
Modern Combat 3, N.O.V.A. 3 tested to work perfectly. All other Gameloft games should work and show up in market.
Please note, if you have a custom ROM, you probably do not want to use this. It will overwrite your ROM creator's settings. It will probably work, but it will take away certain features of their build.prop tweaks.
Users are saying that this kills Google Wallet. I cannot confirm this since I don't use it. Use at your own risk. Please update us if it does or not.
You must be rooted!
BACKUP YOUR CURRENT BUILD.PROP
1. Clear Google Play Store Data (Settings, Apps, All, Google Play Store, Clear Data)
2. Download the build.prop I have attached at the end of this post.
3. Unzip it
4. Use a file explorer such as ES File Explorer and navigate up to /system
5. Copy and paste it over your current build.prop in/system
6. Reboot phone
Clear as mud
*Edit*
Removed manual way to update (Hardcore DIY'ers can Google it)
Updated build.prop to HTC Sensation (pyramid). Apps were showing up before with the Galaxy SII build.prop changes, but downloaded files weren't compatible with our phone. Sensation makes for a better fingerprint.
Thanks for this! Only one thing:
People need to understand that if they're not on the stock ROM (that this build.prop is based off of) that they are risking losing whatever modifications their ROM devs added into build.prop.
Different devs do different things in there....blindly replacing your ROM's build.prop is usually a bad idea.

True... which is why it's important to manually make the change to the build.prop on your rom. Takes a little work, but worth it.
If you follow these instructions, you cant mess it up.

Meaning anything that's not stock. Viper, PokeROM, Fresh, whatever.
Each developer tends to make their own build.prop edits. If you just make the changes to the stock build.prop that the OP attached and you're running any custom ROM you're overwriting whatever they may have done. Unless your Dev puts the change into his/her ROM, or someone makes a flashable zip for you, for your ROM, just grabbing a random build.prop and using it because it has the edits you want is a bad idea.
I'm using Joelz9614 rom just manually edit. A safe rule is never paste over the prop when you can do the edits yourself if you're not sure if it's modded

Exactly.
One more note guys this will kill google wallet mine was still stuck so not sure about those already set up but changing your device to a non wallet device means no wallet. Just thought I'd add this though we are bound to see people ask about it anyway. Perhaps that can be added to the op

so i screwed up! i edit manually didnt work maybe i mis spelled.. and then thought i could just flash that build prop posted...and i had just flashed FRESH 5.0 and just kinda now read that i should have changed the build prop with that rom untill the developer had that built in.. any ideas what the hell i can do now?

OPen the zip for the Fresh ROM, go to /system and pull out build.prop. Push that to your phone, and change the permissions.
Or, flash Fresh over your current installation without wiping.
You could push the original build.prop to your phone from the Rom you are using or reflash

Won't Gameloft eventually make the market change so that the One-X variants are downloading the HD versions? I would only do this if you have to have it now...

You could reflash your ROM or ask the dev for this build.prop file to paste over your corrupted one.
it was a damn brick and i could even get to recovery screen... i did volume down and power and the bottom buttons would flash and then finally stopped i then press volume down and power and magiclly i got to the bootloader then the recovery and reflasheed
You removed the changes that needed to be made manually? I applied the Samsung changes and now would like to apply the new sensation changes. I guess I'll dig through the build.prop and check which lines are different
To the OP, why would you remove the changes to the file that can easily be done manually??? It's a simple mod that can be done. Users NOT in the know will replace their their file with yours, only to end up with a mess because they are on a different rom that has somewhat different parameters than what's in your attachment.

[ROM][UCLF5] base - deodexed - zipaligned - rooted - debloated [updated 6/26]

MAJOR UPDATE June 26th:
All posted links were down already. Sorry guys. I now signed up for some REAL web hosting as it seems with all "free" hosting and services you really get what you pay for. I got an unlimited bandwidth server and am planning on letting other devs host their work, too.
I am not "asking" for money but like all other devs on here I'm doing this out of passion for our device(s), I'm a crackflasher myself I did put a "donate to me" button above my avatar on the left for the generous ones amongst you who have been asking for a way to donate. A cold beer or a mountain dew does help when figuring things out LOL!!!
LINKS ARE UP - Now with 100mbit connection.
The ROM file will stay untouched, not adding any mods into the ROM itself. All mods are CWM flashable ZIPs in hopes that everyone can find and install what they like
The ROM itself:
Electron_stock_deodexed_zipaligned_UCLF5.zip
Sorry for n00bin' and forgetting the MD5 sum Here it is: md5sum=04EF83B5FA66F96DEFA5AC2F5593B012
CRT-OFF animation for this ROM:
Electron_TetherHack+crt-anim.zip
UCLF5 Modem files (AT&T LTE) standalone CWM flashable ZIP (the modem is included in the ROM! This is only for people who want to revert from T-Mo modems or to use this modem on a different Rom!):
Electron_UCLF5_Modem.zip
NEW: Completely redone 15Toggle-Mod with blue battery and working USB + No more garbled text on startup!
Electron_UCLF5_15toggle_blueBatt.zip
Revert 15 toggles back to stock with green battery and stock toggles:
Electron_UCLF5_15toggle_revert.zip
NEW: The BLOAT all zipped up for whoever wants to drop one or the other of the included APK's into the /system/app dir. The ZIP contains the first set of apps mentioned in the "what had been axed" section.
BLOAT.zip
NEW: And here comes the unsecured kernel with init.d support (thanks Flappjaxxx!!!)
Flapp_UCLF5_unsecuredKernel.zip
And here the revert in case anyone needs to go back to STOCK UCLF5 Kernel
Flapp_UCLF5_unsecuredKernel_revert.zip
Contacts app with Yellow pages BLOAT removed!
Flapp_Contacts_UCLF5-NoYP.zip
S-Voice with all needed libs (speech output works!):
Electron_SVoice_UCLF5.zip
-- original post -----------------------
In honor of flapp's tremendous work to always bring us a solid, stable base ROM and after reading the sad news last night, I decided to take on the task and learn how to deodex, zipalign and debloat a ROM.
So here it is. Fresh out of the oven. Stock UCLF5 with light debloating (only the crazy **** gone) and no optimizations but the mandatory pre-root, deodex, zipalign and of course my good old tethering hack (with bluetooth tethering added) baked right in.
SORRY my little test server uplink is way too slow for this. Didn't expect this kind of traffic LOL. Yes I will find a faster hosting for ROMs
Hope I was able to give back to the community with this. It was a bumpy (at first) but very interesting ride to teach myself all this and in the end make it work!
Of course the usual blabla applies: I tried my best, it works for me. It's very unlikely that anything can be damaged, still I can NOT be held responsible for ANYTHING.
Don't forget to wipe, clear caches etc. no matter what ROM you're coming from!
Yes, I am still fairly "new" as an active member and do appreciate every use of the "thanks" button :-D
What has been axed (debloated)?

I would venture to say this is not the place for this. This is a request to port stuff over from another ROM - and doesn't have anything to do with the fine work done to make a flashable version of the i717 uclf5.
Make the request, but do it in one of the other forums.
THANK YOU electron73 for your hard work!
We definitely need a mirror or a torrent for this! It's extremely slow to download! Server overload! LOL
Does the blue battery and fifteen toggle work on the stock UCLF5? Reason I ask is cause I flashed the stock leak through Odin yesterday and set up phone.

I think its an improvement. I get an average of two bars higher on the cm9 rom with this modem and the download speed seems faster but I can't say for sure for sure.
When the modem download is done I'll throw up a mirror. Won't be able to help on the ROM though.
15 toggle from LE2 works on LF5 too!
i just flashed it!
if you on stock odex rom, first rename system.odex to system.txt then flash

porting roms from s3 i9300 to i9305

hi im currently in process of porting a stock deodexed rom.
i have changed system files and the update script.for out i9305. at moment i am able to install the rom fine and loads up with or without wipe. i also included the ee modem.
my issue is that when the rom starts all is ok and there are no force closes however i get no network and imei shows null. to resolve this i just flash param.tar in odin and stock file and all is back to original with imei restored.
any ideas on whats causing the loss of imei number
in setting imei and baseband showbas unknown
edit whilst restoring to stock i did not have to restore imei backups so am asuming efs part is fine

Try merging our system and framework so it picks it up as our xxali5 or xxali9 you have to get rid of there base and put our base instead but leave the edited files so maybe the system apps folder stays the i9300 as the apps are the same i think but change the rest into our firmware hmmmm so maybe a better idea would be to have a blank deodexed and zipaligned xxali5 rom move and overwrite our files with the edited files of the i9300 that way all our efs and imei doesnt get touched

Basically there are some intensely different changes within the services.jar, framework.jar, android-policy.jar and so forth. 4G LTE is sooo much different than the stock i9300. I am not saying it CAN'T be done. But I am saying it is going to be a complete bastard to do. Put it this way, you'd be better off looking into all of the modifications that have been done to create these ROMS and re-doing them to the i9305.
Trust me, I have looked into doing this with a "customised" build to from sources for ICS for the P7320T tablet that I had. It is the only 4G tablet released here in Australia. The closest I could find in sources for being able to make the connection was grabbing settings systemUI and the others I have listed above ^^^ from the S2 4G LTE. Then I was going to have to modify the systemUI specifically for tablet mode.
I no longer have the tablet nor the patience to want to take on anything like it again.
All I can say is good luck. Feel free to check my threads to confirm that my choices are not a conflict of motivation or lack of determination...god I can assure you that much
Just for a tip. I started today with decompiling the android-policy.jar file to see if I could enable the torch app double click home from lock screen feature....this has been done on i9300 right? Go take a look at the full guide on how to do it...go decompile 1 file that I am talking about and you will see just how different the methods are in all of the smali code. JOY!

What tools are you using to "port" this ROM to our device?
I have tools that can port ROMs in about 30-40min.
What have you got in the build.prop for this thing? Do you want to upload the ROM for me to take a look at? The least I could do is offer some help before raining on your parade lol.
Have you considered doing maybe a "splice" of the ROM. Rather than porting the full version, you could do a diff/compare of the modded ROM against it's stock counterpart. Then you migrate those changes over to your "stock i9305" base. That is going to be your best chance of doing this I reckon? also you won't be able to copy across the firmware version. That won't work. Your framework and the firmware version are going to be device specific.
The absolute best thing I can think of suggesting is to go with a known base equivilant?? Like it seems that there is a release of XXALI5 (for touchwiz at least?) on both devices. That would be where I would start first and foremost. I would port with that common version using what I described above and then migrating any further or additional functionality (developer made i.e. Wanams mods) that have been done since the XXALI5 release.
That is going to be your best bet.
Or you guys could just wait for me to release my ROM haha...subtle promotion? I think not.

Exactly
I have a methodology that does this very easy. I wanted the OP to upload his work so far to save me a download. But I might just go ahead and do it anyway.
Have you guys got permissions from Wanam to use his work? I will ask on your behalf if not. He is a great contributor to this forum, I don't wish to have him offside.
What I mean is that I will go ahead and play, but I won't re-upload any test files to the forum without his consent This shouldn't be too hard
---------- Post added at 12:40 PM ---------- Previous post was at 11:53 AM ----------
Contacted Wanam. I will wait to see what he says and recommends. I have claimed I am not releasing anything of his, so this can be owned by you guys who want it. I am happy to help get the ball rolling to help yous though. I have my own dev team that I work with so that makes me kinda busy. That is why I haven't released my own ROM on here yet lol
Downloaded XXLAI5 Wanam, Downloaded XXLAI5 stock i9300, have already downloaded XXLAI5 stock i9305 and I am currently deodexeding it as we speak.
Will deodex i9300 XXALI5 next and then do a comparison to Wanams. Segregate changed files - > port to stock deodexed base = Wanam i9305 for you guys
That's if Wanam approves of course?
EDIT: Hey Mr OP can you please contact me? I cannot send you PMs? Holy smokes you've been around this place since 09!
Ok Analysis done on Wanam compared to stock XXALI5 and have all the of the files seperated and within their directory structure that had changes.
There is going to be some work needed to be done on these main files:
/system/framework/android.policy.jar
/system/framework/framework2.jar
/system/framework/services.jar
/system/app/systemUI.apk
As I expected
Now the fun n games start I will decompile all of these files and then diff them against the standard i9300 smali coding and then *attempt* (and I say that with all great intension too) to migrate the changes across into decompiled i9305 files.
I can tell this is going to be a head ache!
Otherwise though....I can honestly say that what I have got so far I know for certain will boot and you will not have baseband issues. You won't however have 15 toggle mod as it stands. Services.jar and Android policy.jar both control this feature. I see that this *IS* available as a mod already on this forum but I am not certain that the creators realise that these modifications (mentioned here) actually do need to be performed.
Lidroid-res.apk within framework will have no rights to control the toggle on the systemUI cause it won't have permissions due to conflicting signature checking. note...toggles may appear, but they won't do anything when you touch the widget toggle, it will be non-responsive.
Thanks guys
Thats what i said we should just try copying over the whole system app folder and replacing it with our deodexed rom. Try doing that as the firstt step

System app is fine, but that isn't where the changes are that make Wanams ROM. You'd have your self a standard ROM otherwise. As in no difference. Or if you just copied the system/app folder ROM would boot but systemUI would force close. You would also have no reboot menu and no USB read from the phone. That would equal disasterous....cause as we all know we don't have SD mount in recovery do we?
Fancy doing an adb push on a phone that doesn't install USB connection files?
See I wouldn't be stupid enough to do that without having at least a clockwork recovery backup lol.
It's ok. for the android.policy.jar they are identical (well for XXALI5 they are anyway) to the i9300. So simple trade in there.
Only 4 more files to go and I will have you guys a port
Wanam still has not contacted me back yet though so I we need approval before anything.
Reset scrolling caches. In framework2.jar
This took a bit of work because my notepad++ kept crashing running compare. If you guys ever have this issue, right click the executable in program files go to properties and compatibility and then check the boxes for:
- disable visual themes
- disable desktop composition
- disable high dpi scaling.
Apply.
No more crashing. Windows 7 aero apparently doesn't like the compare dll?
Anyway not related. I am back on track. last jar file and then it should be ready to package up and it will be the same as Wanam ROM XXALI5
Got approval from Wanam. Just about to test flash now. Will upload it here if everything works out
Well, I had a few mishaps with my own device. Namely no root access and also lost hardware ID...meaning no Android Market. This all happened sometime during my lengthy list of modifications so I was not sure where. That mean flash back to stock and restore my data bit by bit until I was set up again. This take for EVER!
So yeah no real feedback from anyone in here so have decided to finish off my own ROM instead. XXALI9 (newer) and a heap more mods than stock Wanam. So far so good.
I can upload what work I did on getting Wanam's up and running (I have not flashed it yet) but will wait till someone actually wants before I go ahead and do that.
Thanks guys
James
