Model number: SGP321
Android version: 4.1.2
Build Number: 10.1.1.A.1.307
When you entered the Service Menu, was the bootloader unlock status "No"? If it was, then look at the root methods for locked bootloaders (you might need to downgrade your firmware in order to do this).
Next time post your question in Q&A.
Is there any way to post Questions where they go? Helping you by moving to Q&A

Read through the posts. If you can't find something, then you'll have to be patient for a root exploit. I don't have the LTE model and I just unlocked my bootloader, so I can't help as much as I'd like to.
root works
but i still cant open my bootloader! has someone any idea?

This really isnt a thread that belongs in development. You also failed to mention the method above, will delete the devices DRM certificates for good, they will loose the abilty to use track id and sony music and video store forever.

it kinda is, you just include a link to the bootloader relock thread. that's all that's different. kudos for trying to be helpful, i just personally find this thread as a means to boost your thanks meter..
edit: and i also feel the topic is misleading. upon reading it, it sounds like you have a new method of rooting the new firmware, without unlocking the bootloader at all. which for many people with branded phones, will be horribly shot down to see that, yet again, they need to enable fastboot to do something they have probably already read else where (probably on the linked pages you provided)
if i do this and keep my boot loader locked, will trackID still work? And SE updates?

No you can't do this, hence you have to unlock your bootloader in the process to gain root with his tut and you'll loose trackID (DRM) and it won't come back even when you relock it.
You can root without unlocking bootloader on the newest FW 4.0.1.A.0.283 in another way. Check out the dev section for more info

yes , you can root on 2.3.4 by OTA update , but i think the generic UK still not released .
when you unlock your phone , you can't recieve and use SEUS anymore , but if relock your phone , you can use it during update/repair without any problem .
Hi Guys!
Here's my story. I have a Neo with locked bootloader, when I tried to check it with it's original firmware version (lower than 4.0.2.A.0.42) before, using the *#*#7378423#*#*, in service info, the status is missing. So, it means i can't unlock my bootloader! Same thing with my friend's ARC.
Now, I updated my phone and my friends phone to the latest (in our area) firmware version 4.0.2.A.0.62 and when I tried to check it again using the *#*#7378423#*#*, the status is now showing - Rooting Status: Bootloader unlock allowed: Yes.
How come rooting is allowed now? it wasn't when it still has the out of the box firmware. Any explanation?
look at my attached screen shot.
Thanks!!!
Just checked mine and mines says NO, 1242-4466 4.0.2.A.0.62 Generic user
Maybe they put that line " Rooting Status: Bootloader unlock allowed: Yes." in few last firmwares, thats why you maybe didn't see it before.
And it doesn't mean you can root, it only mean that your fastboot is enabled, so you can go ahead and unlock your bootloader, with either official way or unofficial with s1tool, which I advise you.
And when we are at root, rooting 62 is a bit tricky if you don't have your bl unlocked. But thats another story
thanks for the infos.
I just want to put SuperUser so I can get rid of the bloatwares, I'm running out of space. I'm not really interested with custom roms, i'm satisfied with the stock ones.
I'm still thinking about rooting though! I have a noob feeling about it with Neo. lol!
Thanks again! Have a nice day!

LOL, well right now with locked BL its impossible, you have to unlock it.... its probably that in the threads already posted someone like me already said it
its most annoying having a locked BL - orangeUK did it to my device. waiting for an exploit or maybe ICS might do something. I have read that if you get the SIM unlock code into it, it may unlock the BL but I cannot say for certain, I may try this to see if it will allow the bootloader to be unlocked.
as for now we are stuck with a locked BL
Well, it's little off-topic, but what if we collect enough unlock code - IMEI/network ID pairs? If there is a database with tens or maybe hundreds of unlock keys, somebody smart enough can figure out the algorithm needed to generate unlock code to everyone.
Naturally nobody should post he's IMEI and unlock code in public. There must be somebody (preferably developer) who will collect those keys via PM or email.
What do you think about that?

You can only flash stock based ROMs with a locked bootloader.
If you wanted to flash custom ROMs or kernels, you needed to buy a SIM Free, carrier free phone.
There is no way to unlock your bootloader.
thanks for the reply, i dont mind a stock based rom but i cant even get root

To root you don't need an unlocked bootloader.... read my post again.
Here you go m8 read this http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2775411 :good:
Hello people from XDA!
From what I have read time and time again while looking for a way to change my Bootloader unlock allowed:NO to YES, there should be a way to install a custom ROM and recovery without unlocking my bootloader (since it's apparently impossible to unlock it). And if there is a way, please let me know.
Additional information:
My device is rooted (Kingoroot)
I'd really apperciate some "light" on the subject. I've searched for weeks and there seem to be absolutely no threads regarding the subject, although there are people claiming they have done it.
Thanks in advance.
What Android version is your phone running? 5 or 6?
5; 6.0 hasn't been released in my region (Latin America)??

I just read it, and I don't see anything about doing it while my bootloader is locked (I can't unlock it because in the menu it says "bootlocker unlock allowed:NO" which means it's impossible to unlock it).

Thanks anyway, man
Find and activate OEM unlocking within the developer option in the settings menu. It may or may not work - but its worth a shot.
