Hello,
I have a pipo s2, everything worked fine until yesterday.
The tablet didn't start, although it was charged. When I plugged in the charged the red light was on.
So I desided to open it up and dissconnect the red wire from the battery.(I saw this solution, in another foroums)
I did that and the result was that the tablet worked only with the charger on.Although the battery seems to be charging. It reached 99%.
So now, after this process the tablet is working only with the charger on....
Then after using the tablet for a while I shutted down the tablet with charger on...the result was the brick that I had from the start (not turning on, just charging). Disconnect the red wire again, and back to searching a solution.
I upgraded with another firmware that I found, but nothing happened, that problem remains...
Is there any possibility the problem has to be with the firmware or the kernel??
What can I do????? please help me!!!
up!

Hello, I have the following problem - last night my battery died completely, then I plugged it ot a wallcharger, completely working, and while the phone was off it charged it to 100%. Then I started it but it got just to the "M" and died again, and that was all. Then I tried a different charger, and nothing really happened. When it was charging it was ok, but when I unplugged it it was turning off immediately. Then I went into recovery mode, made a Reset and all of a sudden, the phone was ok, with battery full and now working. So my question is - what is the problem here ? I noticed that the charger (not the OEM. Just purchased this one http://www.ebay.com/itm/200815536178?ssPageName=STRK:MEWNX:IT&_trksid=p3984.m1497.l2649) is a little loose in the charging. So what might the problem be ? Thank you.
Hi guys, I have very big problem with my xperia. Few weeks ago i installed cyanogen mod (http://forum.xda-developers.com/xperia-u/p-development/-t2626639) evrything was working fine, but suddenly when i connected my charger to phone, it do not recognized it is charging. After some time of charging battery level goes up, but phone is hot as hell. After charging to 100% phone is rebooting and staying on sony logo, its turning on only after disconecting a charger. Battery life is like 15 minutes. I have tried to reflash cyanogen, didnt help. Then i wanted to reflash stock rom but after connecting phone to computer nothing happends, computer dont see phone. I have tried a lot of chargers and cables, nothing is working fine. I was thinking tahat maybe usb port is somehow destroyed, but phone is "charging".If you can please help. Cheers.

Im having the same problem here. HAve you managed to solve this?
Thanks
I've changed the battery, and it didn't make nothing. Phone can't recognize the cable plugged in, if i plug charger in, it charges, but don't indicate it. I can't connect my xperia to pc and flash stock rom. Any ideas how to solve my situation ?
Have the Xperia Z tablet in stock ROM, unrooted, everything stock ... and a couple days ago out of the blue the tablet has stopped charging.
Even when I plug the USB cable in, the LED does not come up. Looking at Settings->Battery it shows a slim line under "Charging" only. Tried different chargers and different cables, same thing.
If I power off the tablet, and plug the charger in, now the LED lights up and the tablet charges.
As soon as I power on the tablet, the LED that was on goes off immediately. With the tablet turned on somehow it cannot detect the charger at all.
Tried rebooting the tablet a few times and didn't help.
Anyone had the same issue?
My next step is to use the Sony Companion software to repair it but not sure if it will wipe out my tablet ...

It's weird that it still charges when its off. I had a problem where it wasn't charging at all, and the motherboard got fried apparently, and Sony gave me a replacement.
I googled some, and people having similar problems as yours (on Sony as well as other androids) ultimately had to get their phone repaired/replaced unfortunately. For example - http://talk.sonymobile.com/t5/Xperi...Z-only-charging-when-switched-off/td-p/513665
I suggest you take a backup of all your data while this phone is still working!

Your tablet just hanged with screen off.
It was easier to hold VOL+POWER for 5-7 sec to make battery reset (it is actually the same that you did, but less intrusive).
SGP521 LTE version tablet running MM not charging using magnetic cable nor usb-cable. Tried both original and spare and also different wall charges. No luck.
Tried also software repair via Xperia Companion but no success.
When tablet powered off I connect the charger, red light comes on for few seconds and then goes off. Tablet shows the battery percentage but is not charging.
When tablet on and I connect charger the tablet sounds like usb is connected and shows also usb-connected icon. Also stamina goes off when charger connected but battery does not charge.
I have only 20% battery left and soon the device will die...
Any ideas what's the root cause for "not_charging" -issue? What to do to get charging feature back alive?
Hello I had this identical issue a week or so ago with my SGP511. The solution for me in the end was to plug the charger in using original SOny charging cable and plug. The red light went on then off again and screen stayed off, but i left it overnight for about 10 hours. In the morning the tablet was still dead but i unplugged the charger, then plugged it in again. This time the red light stayed on, and after a few minutes, the screen lit up and it started to charge.
Please note this took me several days of constantly unplugging and plugging back in, so not sure what the final fix was but the above was the last thing i did before it started to work.
