So I bought an Otterbox which came with a screen protector. It really hindered the capacitive buttons so I took it off. I've been doing some research to find one that doesn't cover the buttons but couldn't find any. Also other screen protector reviews also state capacitive button hindrance. So here I am. I figured I would ask you all what you use...
I believe that all the screen protectors are meant to cover the entire "glass" of the phone. Since the captive buttons are within the glass, it will cover it. You can always just measure and cut it yourself. Pretty simple and easy.

Do you have the latest update? I don't have any issues with the buttons and the screen protector after applying the update.

Perhaps you could just cut the bottom part out whit scissors? So you would ha e the whole top covered ?

Is there already a scratch guard that is pasted on the screen? If you hold the phone against the light it shows a small plasic piece. Do we need to remove that to place a new guard?
Yes, the X10 comes with a pre applied screen protector, as mentioned on a few threads about screen protectors.
Lol @ x10user. Your direct and to the point responses are funny and useful.
Btw removing the stock screen protector is a personal preference. I found the screen to be way too sensitive when it was off.

Thanks for the info folks.
I did see a few scratches on the stock protector so was considering removing it and putting in a new one.
what is the best one? a lot of people say thbat the lack\ of a secure flap is annoying. also, what is the best screen protector? for the vibrant, different ones affect the touchscreen slidability.
thanks
I have a skinomi screen protector that works really good with no touch problems.

used to have a screen protector, made the whole screen look blurred so I had to tear it down...
which one did you have?
used a screen protector for a couple days but it didn't feel right, so I just took it off. Makes a big difference for viewing purposes
Hey our there,
this morning i thaugt i will smash my s3. I have this device for less then one week, keeping it safe every moment. so no coins, keys or any sharp objects in my pocket.
no putting it on the display side, nothing. But now i have a ~ 1 cm long quite deep scracht in the middle of the glass. not the tiniest little scracht, but just this big one....
cant imagine where it came from, but i am super pissed.... display foile just came today evening... nice timing
what the **** is this.....
did you experiance the same? are your displays still are fine?
greetings
None on mine. I don't really look for them unless people ask, but can't see any. Gorilla glass is very strong.

All it takes is a grain of sand on the screen when you use and this is what you get, because it's a serious misconception to think Gorilla Glass is actually scratch proof, because it's only scratch resistant to things softer than the glass.
Some screen protectors can cover the scratch. You'll never know it's there.

Screen protector.
I am using a moderately cheap one right now until I can get my hands on the better ones.
I also keep my phone in the right pocket of my pants that stores nothing but the phone.

greetings
edit: doenst madder... baught phone for 500€ just soidl it rooted + scratch for 520
so i will get another one, and be happy with case and disp. protectors
no screen protector, no case. Phone already has hundreds of microscratches on the back, and quite a few on the glass also. Really doesn't bother me, not like you can see it when the screen is on.
Hi to all.
A stupid question: does it have sense to have a screen film protector on Galaxy S3 or it will just make the touchscrenn less responsiveness?
Personally I always use one, it stops micro scratches, helps resale value, and doesn't affect responsiveness one bit.....go to accessories forum for all you need to know
R: Screen Guard Protector
So you use it...do you also use a sock to keep the phone in your pocket?

If you don't use a screen protector your phone will scratch. Grab a zagg and put it on correctly, Ive had mine on for 9 months now I think. Or since the release of the s3 and still not a bubble, lift or scratch.
However if you mess up the installation then expect problems

Hey all, I have just recently got a privacy screen protector but it seems that it is easy scratched. Is it becuase I bought a bad quaility privacy screen protector or just that privacy screen protector is easily scratched?

Dladz, what do you mean by "However if you mess up the installation then expect problems " ?
By the way if all of you advice me to do it, i will put a screen protector on my phone....
The problems in noticed with zagg protectors are the orange peel effect on the surface and lots of lint seemed to get stuck around the edges of the film.
But I would definitely recommended a screen protector. The screen is hard to scratch, but not impossible especially if there is any sand nearby

Ok so i will buy a vikuiti and add it...my only fear is to lose screen responsiveness
Everybody must know for their own use, i don't use a protector anymore. The touchpad works much better without one - thats only my opinion! If sometime there will be a scartch, so it is. We all will die...
My old Desire was a year saved by a protector - the last one without. Got no scratches in my jeans pocket...
Doubt you'll lose any responsiveness at all. I have a very cheap protector on. Amazon sells 12 for like £2 and with the GS3 screen being so responsive, it even works fine with my thin gloves on.

if you use a screen guard, you don't have no problem with responsiveness of the screen.
It is imposrtant to protect from scratches...
Let's use it!
S3 screen are sensitive. Wearing screen protector will not lose it sensitiveness. If it lose a little bit, u will not notice them. Im using anti-finger glossy screen protector. Kinda hate it coz it make screen not sharpness as it should be.
Although it corning gorilla glass but beware. Sand in pocket can still scratching ur screen.
Been using this for almost 2 weeks now. No screen protectors or casing because I still have to order mine from ebay. I am very disappointed because the screen easily scratched. I place this tab on my bag and I was disappointed with this. How's your screen? Are you using protectors or tempered glass?

I put small felt pads around the screen, such that if I drop the tablet (or otherwise put it down screen-side down), the screen should never come into contact with a level surface. I hate using cases and screen protectors.
Anyways, I am going on about two weeks, have no scratches. It does not seem easy to scratch the screen, but I haven't really put it to any tests.
Great for you but im not so lucky. Got a very tiny scratch. Not really visible though unless you intend to search for it. And still it's hard to spot. It's the OC in me that disturbs me. It's the same with what happened on my z3 dual
