"So easy, a caveman can do it"
AS ALWAYS use at your own risk. Not responsible for anything that might happen to your phone.
Updated DeSense for both, ICS and GB, roms. Changes are NO LONGER permanent.
What can I use this for?:
- set your mainver to accept any of the rezound PH*.zip files while using bootloader
- change look and feel of your rom from sense to something else
- remove extra apps not needed to use your phone
- install apps you need before logging into market
- easily reboot into recovery/bootloader w/o pulling the battery
- block ads
- fix bluetooth on ICS roms
Instructions:
** Must ALREADY be rooted before running (htc Dev Unlock)**
- HTC Drivers must be installed on PC
- USB Debugging turned on for phone
- Connect via usb and charge only
- extract zip somewhere and double click DeSense_v#.bat
- Choose option in menu
Extra steps (recommended)
- Prior to de-sense, log in to all your accounts and setup the intial syncing because you may not be able to once you have de-sensed. Syncing should work after you de-sense if you do this...
Optional:
- Nandroid backup your phone in case you run into issues.
Available options:
**1** DeSense for both ICS and GB
Removes Sense UI. Must have a launcher already installed!!!
**2** Fix Bluetooth on ICS roms
Thx to JoelZ. Click here and thank/donate!
**3** Restore
Restores all of the original apk's you have removed using this util
**4** Install apps (choice menu)
Included apps are:
- wifi tether
- es file explorer
- titanium backup
- Swype
- Nova Launcher (ICS Only)
**5** Remove more HTC, Verizon & google extras
Now removes even more apps!!! If you need something back that this removed, you can use any root exploring program to move the apk from /system/bkup/ to /system/
**6** Change Mainver to universal
Will set your MainVer to "1.00.000.0". This should allow you to install any rom's boot image without getting a mainver error.
Big thanks to drellisdee. Click here to thank/donate!
**7** Remove HTC Lockscreen
Removes HTC circle lockscreen and reverts to default android (NOTE: See Troubleshooting/Issues below, before performing this option*.)
**8** Install ICS notification bar and settings (!!!do not use!!!)
do not use this option as most of (if not all) the newer roms will not be based off the 3.0.11
**9** Install ad-block hosts file
This will block ads in your browser(s) and apps. Must reboot to take effect.
**0** Reboot (choice menu)
Reboot options
- into bootloader
- into recovery
- or normal
Change Log:
v7 -Changed ICS launcher to nova launcher
-Changed settings.apk to a stable one tweaked by romanbb

v7_1 - No longer deleting files, making a backup instead.

- Updated wifi tether, nova launcher

Wifi tether isn't working
- Open the app go to

I get error messages after removing HTC extras, Verizon/Google exras, etc

- No fix available
*Need to unlock phone to answer calls
- No fix available, if this is a problem DO NOT uninstall HTC lockscreen
**Cannot click "About" & "ROM Control" in ICS settings
- No fix available, if this is a problem DO NOT install ICS notification and settings
**System UI crashes after boot
- No fix available, if this is a problem DO NOT install ICS notification and settings
- It only crashes once after boot, other than that I have not seen it crash again.

Does the wifi tether charge against normal data or will carrier detect and add?
Also, is there a list of all items frozen? I've been slowly freezing htc stuff with zerg/titanium bu and I know I missed some stuff out of caution/uncertainty/fear.
Thanks!
Sent from my ADR6425LVW using Tapatalk
if you open the batch file with any text editor you can see what gets disabled. If you disable an apk twice, it will not affect your phone. So no worries about re-freezing frozen stuff.
wifi tether uses root to provide the service, i cannot make any guarantees to what Verizon will or will not do. I have been using this apk for a while without issues, but I am not making any claims. This stuff is always "use at your own risk"!
The program uses your phone data connection (which is part of your data plan) to provide wifi to other devices i.e. other phones, laptops, desktops, ps3's, etc. If you have limited data plan you can go over the limit using this app.
So i posted this in the Supertool thread - removing sense stops the gallery/album app from working properly. Does anyone know what dependencies the gallery app needs to work?
Thanks

I found the missing package is "com.htc.opensense". I'm not to sure what else this enables but I still have a de-sensed ui. I will create a batch file for easy use.
That was it. Thanks!
I understand my original .bat file is not working correctly... i'll update the original file when i get home later tonight. In the meantime you can use the frigid's super tool (link provided) although a lot of the features won't work for our rezounds...

If you used my original file, it was not processing all the way. You could just try to run the "re-sense" option, and that will return you to normal.
Will provide updated file soon

I used the one tool found on Rootz Wiki and so far everything seems fine except for 2 things. The stock HTC mail app force closes upon reboot, and the gallery issue. No big deal because i just froze the stock mail app since I prefer the gmail anyways. Anyone else have the mail FC on reboot?

FAQ
I've taken the time to answer many of the questions that are bound to pop up. Please do me the courtesy of reading through the below Q & A's before posting issues/questions in the thread
Q: Can I flash this over stock, or another deodexed rom without wiping?
A: I really, really recommend choosing the option to wipe data in aroma. If you dirty flash, I will not accept bug reports or issues, thanks.

Q: Why are you saying I should use CWR over TWRP....TWRP is working fine for me so far!?
A: I had serious issues getting the rom to flash over with team win, and even though my permissions were correct, twice had to RUU over internal storage issues...ymmv, but again I wont accept bug reports if you flash with team win...at least until its fixed.

Q: Are you using parts from other sense jellybean roms?
A: No, everything is 100% stock DNA, just modified. Any mods I credit to others, were adapted, not taken directly. Future versions will include parts from the j butterfly, but only to make up for features that were left out of the DNA version.

Q: Can I use beastmode or cubed kernels with this rom?

Q: Can I flash over any existing themes/mods?
A: Depends what is modded in them. If you flash anything with a systemui packaged in, and you had selected "no clock" in aroma, it will restore the status bar clock. If you flash anything with settings in it, you will loose ability to change button mappings, and so on. If any mod package includes framework-res.apk, you will break the apm, and phone will hotboot/freeze when you depress the power button, be wary of what you flash.

Q: I flashed the rom, but now I can't switch keyboard..what should I do?

Q: I tried to install the rom, but aroma froze...what should I do?
A: This is just an issue with aroma, that happens on occasion. It's most likely to happen if you click "back" or "forward" in rapid succession. If this happens, don't worry. If connected to a terminal just do adb reboot recovery to restart recovery and restart the rom install, or hold down power and volume down until the phone restarts into hboot, then go to recovery from there. If the install keeps rebooting during mid install non stop, wipe data/factory reset and format /system in recovery before attempting to flash again.

Q: I removed the sense lockscreen in aroma, but now when I get a call i have to unlock the lockscreen, then answer the call?!
A: This is an issue thats existed in sense for years. Unfortunately, if you want to use the stock jb lock, you will have to deal with it. There is a workaround for it, but it involves tweaks (haven't seen a non tweaks workaround to port), and I won't (and can't) use tweaks in a non team venom project. Down the round that will be out, til then, sorry.

it is an on screen menu in recovery that allows different things to install along with the ROM. It took me 4 times to actually get it installed. I would get random reboots in the middle of installation. Also after the aroma-script finished the recovery said installation failed. Do you recommend twrp or cwm cause i use twrp.

The OP very specifically states that he recomends only CWM and will not support installs performed in TWRP.

it is an on screen menu in recovery that allows different things to install along with the ROM. It took me 4 times to actually get it installed. I would get random reboots in the middle of installation. Also after the aroma-script finished the recovery said installation failed. Do you recommend twrp or cwm cause i use twrp.

aroma will on occasions (1/5 of the time maybe) freeze during installation...this is usually triggered by success clicks of "back" during install (happens on all phones ive used it on)
however i had nothing but problems when using twrp on this phone, including (but not limited to) crazy sql lite errors on flashovers, and /system not formatting from rom script
if you are using that recovery and it installs fine...great, but not what i personally recommend right now
aroma isnt specific to htc though, just many aosp roms dont use it because it would be extra steps after compiling a build.....its much more popular on oem skin roms, or for mod/tweak packs

Ok that makes sense. Also aroma is messed up a bit I uninstalled somethings but they showed up and the apps you said you unhid from the app drawer are not there.
My Phone setup for anyone who wants the same
I seem to like touchwiz and all it's features. Drew away from the stock nexus experience even though I do love it! The samsung camera alone for me is enough to keep touchwiz. Since getting the Samsung Galaxy S4, I've been waiting for some customization so I can finally root my phone and they came during the week.
I'm putting All these files in one place for anyone who wants stock rom with these add-ons. I'm ASSUMING you already have root access

After flashing these files I download Titanium Backup to remove any apps I didn't want. First make a backup of the app then you can choose to freeze it (Recommended just in case you need it in the future) or uninstall it.
Hope I did this write and gave credit where credit is due.
for the emoji keyboard you say you need the JB keyboard. Where do you get that? Very helpful post by the way.
If you just Google 4.2 jb keyboard you can find the zip or apk

**Update about the future of this project. We will continue to update and support this port until the majority of users are running our new project.** http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2432621 it is not ready yet at all. But I thought id post a heads up well in advanced so nobody freaks out.
This is a port from the 9505 Google Edition system dump that was posted. It was originally meant as a proof of concept build but no one picked up the project so I am supporting it.
@hlxanthus has been continually working on mods and feature updates within the ROM. I have a shared folder where we can both access current files for the project. Be sure to thank his posts :good:

Changelog:
Aroma scrolling fixed
All apps updated (I think at least... G+ updated right as I went to upload so I had to kill it and update and re-up)
Aroma permissions changed to hopefully fix all the random FC issues
Big update for xposed framework.
- in the installer it now lists all modules and their versions. I did not update all the modules because of this. Honestly I would only install the framework now and pick the modules separate. I still use theme engine, xblast, and gravity box personally.
I was working on new builds of systemui and framework-res but kept getting FCs so I reverted those changes. So carrier label is still screwy but you cab change it with the xblast module. :good:
Overall this update is minor besides the xposed framework. But the weird FC people were getting MAY BE fixed.
Please report any bugs. With bug reports please include a syslog log or adb log. It is also helpful to include the aroma log. To get this just before the last continue there is a save log button in aroma. Thanks.
Options:
A Lot
Wipe or dirty flash
One aroma for both pure and tweaked now
Browser selection
Gapps selection
Launcher selection
Clock options
Navbar options
Extra useful apps options
Phone_Info(a shortcut for the already built into android hidden menu *#*#4636#*#* this can do no wrong, it is just a link to a universally built in android feature)
Keyboard options
Battery options
Quick reply mms option
Viper4android option
TW camera option
Watchon app
TricksterMod app
Xposed framework and modules to be able to change quick settings, carrier label, colors and placement, and also fully theme using xtheme
Lots of kernels to choose from (I'm using my tweaked audism kernel)
Init should be installing properly with all performance options if so desired.
Instructions:
Download
Reboot to recovery(I prefer and HIGHLY recommend using only TWRP-2.5.0.2... will include flashables in next post)
Backup your current ROM(if you want)
Install and select your options
Reboot

Roms that work with safestrap
Like all Roms... Mine installs a kernel at the end... Since this project actively supports MDK... It installs an MDK kernel. Which is covered in the three threads I linked to above(which you should have already read). Hint: flash the provided kernel fix from the SafeStrap O.P.
AndroidSlave said:
Just a tip for ME7 Safestrap users:
Install this ROM in custom mode in aroma with only minimal apps installed, including Google apps etc.
I tried the install many different ways and kept getting issues, hard and soft reboots, etc.
After install with just nova, only Google play store, and just a few other minimal things, everything is amazing and smooth. Then just manually install everything you need.
For some reason safestrap and the me7 combo causes issues with something.
Just my two cents. Thanks a million to @Dubbsy - beautiful ROM - matter of fact, if I didn't have this ROM combined with gravitybox, I would have returned this device (I'm still within the 14 day grace period)...

Actual Bugs:
**don't mess with the network settings. If you do, use the phone info app choose CDMA/lte auto prl.
**Carrier label is still screwy and shows up a jumbled mess for half the people.
Data Fix for those that went into network settings:
Going into the built in network settings automatically sets your preferred network to WCDMA. Meaning, no service. The only way to get it back without jumping through a bunch of stupid hoops is to use the built in hidden dialer code *#*#4636#*#*... Or just use the app icon called Phone Info(does the same thing)
To fix:
Go into mobile network settings.
Verify that your CDMA subscription is set to RUIM and not NV.
For good measure go into the rest of the options and set it to CDMA/LTE, automatic, and allow data roaming.
Back out to your home screen.
Then go into Phone Info app.
Scroll to bottom and tap radio off.
Open the drop down list and select CDMA/LTE auto (PRL).
Turn the radio back on.
Reboot.
Upon reboot open Phone Info again.
Verify it is set to CDMA/LTE auto (PRL)
** you should have full service now * *
** if not * *
In Phone_Info(*#*#4636#*#*):
Try CDMA auto (PRL)
Then try CDMA/GSM/LTE
If those still don't work then your nv_data needs reset. The only way to do that is in the hidden menu dialer codes in a touchwiz-stocktype rom :good:
If you destroy your nv_data and cannot get data back via the above you need to (stop screwing with your network settings)flash back to a TW ROM, enable hidden menu, and do a NV data reset via dialer code. After doing that make sure your phone is not in modem mode under diag dialer code. Until I update this section Google is your friend. And it is available information, verified. Your lack of searching skills doesn't mean pester my inbox...
"Bug" Fixes:
Reboot when hit volume up or down:
-Open gravitybox and deselect the 2 items that are checked under media tweaks
Carrier Name is a jumbled mess
-Install XBlast xposed module, enable it, open carrier section, edit it to what you want it to say.
WiFi doesn't turn on at all
-user error, check the download's md5 number
-user error, dirty install, do a full wipe prior and see if that was the issue
-kernel error, not likely if the above 2 have been done properly
GPS doesn't work
-user error, check the download's md5 number
-user error, dirty install, do a full wipe prior and see if that was the issue
-AOSP bug in general. TW writes something to a partition that stores your GPS location and area. AOSP roms don't edit it or write it. So you need to get a GPS lock in a touchwiz rom, then flash back to this. You can make a backup of your current AOSP/GE install, flash a TW rom, get a lock, and restore your backup. This has been a continued known issue with all ROMs that aren't fully TW.

I personally only trust and use TWRP 2.5.0.2(2.6 is buggy). I've seen too many "issues" with ROMs totally disappear when people stopped using cwm in favor of twrp. But cwm recoveries are included below regardless.

Hello all, I'm on D855,and after few attempts I managed to get Xposed working. I had issues with SDK 21 thing.
Now its working but can't se 'table thing' on there. It just says 'version 74 is active' with no possibility to press Install/Update. There is screen shot. Is this behavior normal for xposed, or I did something wrong?
Thanks.
Sorry, posted it here instead of general. And now don't know how to delete it...
Sorry.

if you installed the xposed installer apk, then that's one step done. but, unless you haven't flashed the xposed SDK zip yet, you'll need to do that - it's the (or at least probably the easiest) way to install xposed. flash it with a custom recovery or whatever else you have, and after a reboot you should see that it tells you the SDK is installed, and from there you can browse and pick modules from the repo.
I'm not sure if that answers your question (was in a bit of a hurry so skimmed read it incorrectly so no, it doesn't answer the question ), but in general (at least for me), those buttons are blanked out, and I do everything by flashing.

just to confirm, here's a screenshot of my device. maybe it's the device itself or something's been configured so that the xposed installer cannot modify the SDK installation. but, like I said, it's normal for me and even if it wasn't the most normal thing you can always perform the operations through recovery anyway

Well I would like something like extended display (it's called like that in CM I think) or PIE from Paranoid android.
So to have them, but hidden.
