After JB update - where's the S-Pen settings? - AT&T Samsung Galaxy Note I717

With ICS, I can change a bunch of settings, such as
- word recognition or letter by letter
- how fast Touchwiz woth recognise the words or letters that I wrote.
Now it's gone.
Do I have to install some updated apk to get this back?

No one use S.pen?

Apparently not. I was asking about the missing eraser and no response. I do miss it when note taking.

Sigh... it looks like people bought the Note for the screen size and couldn't care less with the pen functionality.
Maybe we are the minority here. ..

Sorry Honeybadger, I didn't realize in the other thread that you were talking about the s-pen with the built in eraser.
@lanwarrior....Settings are still there. Settings > Language and input > settings icon for samsung keyboard > toggle hadwriting > tap on the word "handwriting". There are your settings.

Quick Lookup Trick!

As Many times as I've used the LongPress features to Highlight, the Copy and Paste, I've Never Knew about the Quick Lookup feature!
So I figured I'd Share it with Whoever just kind of Overlooked it like Me, Lol...

Whoever Already Knew About this, Just Disregard this Whole thing... Lol!
Strange...if I long press on any text in the stock browser, I only get two options that popup: "copy" or "share via". Where and when are you seeing the quick lookup option? My phone is unrooted.
You need to copy a word or sentence then the option quick lookuo shld be there.
Nothing to do with being rooted.

Not sure what I'm doing differently than whats shown in the video. I tap and hold a portion of text, I get the two green selection arrows, and I'm only given the two options mentioned earlier. Nothing about quick lookup.

Yup. I'm thinking I must have uninstalled it when I was browsing through the apps list. Can someone verify if the Quick Lookup feature is uninstallable from the Manage Applications menu? Thanks in advance.
Thanks for the thread!

No Problem man, Glad you Like it...
Wow, well how were you doing any copy and paste from websites, or even other txt in edit fields if you didn't know about this? Or did you just not know you could do it?
I believe this is only a feature of sense, right? So if you use a nonsense ROM you won't have it. Unless it is a feature of Swype?

double tap-scroll to top doesn't work in music app

Anyone else notice that the double tap the top of the phone gesture does not work in the music app?
me too, tried everywhere only works on my contact lists
it only works in certain menus and screens. read the description under the option for full list. im too lazy to search for it.
Not sure why they didn't make it work with any scrollable region.
that would have been convenient. id think thats a software update thing that could be added later?

There is no "tap to top" gesture in Android.

There actually is, but on Galaxy S3. Maybe on the Note II as well. It only works for some Samsung apps like memo or other built in apps that have scrollable lists, I believe.

Bull****, the amount of features they added with the premium pack in 4.1.2 is impressive.

Touchwiz SMS with emoji?

I came across this link and tried flashing it in recover but it doesn't seem that emoji is working... Does anyone know where a stock SMS app with emoji support can be found?

Unfortunately not for touchwiz. Itd have to be CyanogenMod. If you do find one please let us know. The one in the link you posted looked very promising but it looks like he has updated it in 6 months which indicates to me that it may not have been worth the trouble.
This way atleast they can be sent and received

Is this one still the one with Android emojis/not the iPhone images?
BTW, OP you can just use GoSMS or ChompSMS. They are included in there.

Sizable windows?

I promise I searched.
My Note 8 has the ability to drag an app from the top corner and resize the window.
Does the Tab 3 have the same functionality?
THanks in advance,
Matt
Yup. Same thing.
Your reply seems to indicate that the tab 3 has a similar capability. Yet I am not seeing it. is there a setting I need to change?

There's a setting under Advanced Features -> Multi window on mine called pop-up view action. I think that's what you want.
