[Q] Fast Dormancy Toggle not working - Galaxy S III Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Okay, so I installed Fast Dormancy Toggle app by gokhanmoral, but it doesn't work. I even tried adding the line. ro.ril.fast.dormancy.rule=0 but I still see the secril_fd-interface wakelock eating away my battery. Is there something i'm missing out, or some other way to go about it. I'm on paranoid android 3.60.
Any help would be appreciated. Thanks

Did you reboot after making the change?
Define "Eating away my battery" (please give some context)

Yes! Ofcourse I rebooted and I still have over 11 minutes of secril_fd-interface wakelock along with 142 wakeups by com.android.phone. And by "Eating Away My Battery" , what I mean is that I've got a 10%/hour battery drain when i refer to BetterBatteryStats.
P.S One thing I did notice i.e the the Fast Dormancy Toggle does work in Samsung Based ROMs but not in CM or AOSP or AOPK ROMs, atleast it does not in my device.

anyone?

I have the same problem but on i9100 ! (i am on rootbox 4.32 with dorimanx 9.32)
Is there anyone that could help ??

Thank's for reply...is it normal??
if can..i want to extend the battery life..any suggestion for apps??thank's...
If you wanna extend the battery life you should uninstall all apps that can possibly keep the phone awake. more apps needing CPU = less battery life.
also lower the display lighting if you have high battery use of it.

Yes, it's normal
Turning down the brightness will of course help.
Normal seem to be about 12-40 hours. Some apps are badly behaved, others just take a lot of power. It seems there might be a few OS bugs which come and go depending on exactly how you use the phone - some ROMS/kernels seem to help but it is difficult to be specific. Check the BetterBatteryStats thread for some ideas on debugging.
18 hours is decent, it all depends on how you use the phone.
If for 10 hours your phone's screen was on, then ofc this is amazing.

What is your brightness setting? When you are in the battery usage page, click on Display and tell us how many hours the display was on.
You should also check if your phone is on standby mode properly. When you press the awake button and the phone awoken instantly, then you need to restart the phone until it doesn't (e.g. 1-2 second delay is good). I had this problem before and it ate my battery like crazy.
Sleepy cat: my brightness setting is auto & already running for 1hr 38m...since i charge..last night..and the display percentage is 55%...how to reduce it??..
i already reduce my brightness.....
How to reduce battery use by display: Dont use it.
Simply flash the LeoMar75 2.4 RevolutioN Rom. The best rom!!!

I personally found the SolarFlare rom much better compared to many other roms. Have the longest battery life on that.
Use auto brightness, use running services to close what programs/services you don't need(for example I always close skype, yahoo messager, update software, out of milk etc...depends on what you have installed on it and what you don't need ) use static wallpaper and most important charge your phone OFF.

Having an AudioOut_1 wakelock without sounds enabled?

First, sorry if my English is bad.
I have searched about this, and found the solving that is disabling the Touchscreen & Lockscreen sounds will solve this problem. I did it, and the problem is still here and battery life is really bad.
As I see, my AudioOut_1 wakelock increases when the notifications of WhatsApp is reached. It increase the wakelock about 5 seconds even in the vibrate mode. I don't know if this increasing is nomal.
I have been running WanamLite 12.0 rom with Siyah 3.2.7.1 kernel.
Anybody help me please

[Q] wake lag

ok, so I read around the web and xda and didn't found any reasonable solution to this frustrating bug...
when the screen is of, it takes around 1-2 seconds to wake up...regardless if I press home button or power button...
I tried stock rom, flashed another samsung based, AOSP, AOKP and the lag is present on every rom...even with a fresh install, restored apps, installed everything manually...
tried removing sd card and still nothing
is anyone experiencing this also? is there a fix?
please help out, it is driving me crazy!!
btw can this be used to fix this?
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=744655
What's so important in your life that you can't wait one second?
Install an app to keep a wakelock and you'll have instant-wake. But get used to plugging your phone in.
BTW, linking to a kernel for the Samsung Vibrant and asking if it will help ... wow.
why the flame? no one is born perfect, not even you
it is annoying because the sg2 is the one of the best phones out there with impressive hardware and it sould be without bugs like this...
I linked that topic because there is something about this lag that may be helpful...
btw, xda search engine provided the link
JKAY's framework v 14.0
have you tried JKAY's new framework for ICS v14.0 .. it has a lot of new options and settings to personalize or S2 just the way u want it
including it has 2 precious options :
1)fast unlock ( can be found under lockscreen options >>set common options )
2)fast lock ( can be found under set misc settings )
I found a topic related to this..
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?p=29994420#post29994420
so even though JKAY has this feature, it is not a fix but a battery drain...
the app softlocker cures it but does use a little more battery
I have zero lag at all.. You can try my setup in my signature if you care that much

what ur experiencing is SOD(sleep of Death), u can change ur kernel to Siyah v4.1.2 and see
I had similar problem on CM10 experimental (20120825). When I woke up the phone was turned off, but I couldn't turn it on. I found that the battery discharged to 0%. >.<
Now, I'm on stock.

Luzactive as default governer unless tweaked properly might cause issue's, try the default "pegasusq' governer by resetting the extweak profile once and see

Pacman on Note 2 (Verizon) - can't send text messages

I installed Pacman on my Note 2, and now I can't send text messages. Does anyone know how to fix this?
OK, I just did a factory reset, and went back to JellyBeans ROM, and I still can't send.
Can you use the net or anything else?
Did you try adjusting the settings in the SMS apk?
persistent alarm notification
This is my first time on pacman I was wondering if there is anyway to disable the alarm notification?

The notification or the status bar notification?
To block the status bar notification go in to the alarm clock -> settings -> disable show icon
So I'm sure I'm mussing something but there is something draining my battery. Like 40% in 4 hours. I've done a full wipe and battery recalibration which works for a few hours but then the battery gets incredibly warm. The battery stats just show android system and android os at like 30% but I can't figure out what it would be.

Sadly, sometimes AOSP has excessive battery drain. When I was on a TW rom, my battery life was amazing. After switching to AOSP simply cause I couldn't wait for 4.2-3 I noticed it was draining a bit faster. It might be wakelock though, so you can get a few apps to see what apps might be causing it. You can also get greenify.
Additionally, there was a known issue with the phone overheating/excessive battery drain since the switch over to 4.3.1. they talk about it in the pacrom, but said it would be fixed over the next few nightly builds
get devil kernel and you can also change the rate it charges at. i know it doesn't solve the issue, but it helps.
