Hi guys...
i need all the help that i can get.
My Xperia Pro Mini SK17i unable to update/downgrade software, because its has been rooted.
I've tried to update/downgrade using SEUS and PC Companion, my phone is detected by those apps, but it say that my phone software cant be upgrade/downgrade ("Sony Update Engine error 2003").
Now my phone cant start. Its frozen on booting (just showing "SONY ERICSSON" name) but it still connect when i'm connected trough USB cable to my PC (OS Windows 7).
Can anyone help me with this problem ????
Please..... thanks:crying::crying::crying:

I guess "your ROM" still needs some work before you can release it
You are lucky some people here like to help others with less knowledge.
There are tons of threads teaching how to fix a "bricked" phone but instead of searching your problem you preferred making a thread and cry for help. I don't have a problem with that, people are here to help.. I just think you should be more humble.
I have an advice for you, don't take it the wrong way, i'm really trying to help you: don't release more "personal ROMs"
Take care
Next time you can try using google instead or the search tool on xda. Those will get you plenty of info on how to fix your phone.
Dear OP, if you didn't notice yet, Development forums are not meant for your Questions/help issue.
Next time, please, pay more attention, is the second thread from you that i'm closing, there will be not a third.
That's easy, if your phone is bricked like too many people do it:
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=zS2LIuy6YfY
That's what I tell to many people do and they said it works, so stop spamming the sections speaking: "My cellphone is bricked, help me!". Hope it saves your life too
UPDATE: According to our friend, the updated version of PC companion doesn't work anymore, so please check the instructions on this video!

Hello.
I'm having problems with my XPERIA x10i phone. This morning I was changing the case with new one. The full case, not just the cover. And then, my software was stuck in a loop at the Sony Ericsson logo. I tried installing the software with PC Companion, Update Service, FlashTool and none of them seems to work! They all stuck at the same place!
What could be the problem???
Thanks in advance!

I thought of that and I've reassembled looking at this video youtube com /watch?v=JVBTCgAzkY4
I did everything like in the video. If I didn't put anything correctly, the phone wouldn't start... :/
Any specific ideas to look for?
Thanks a lot!
If you had the battery disconnected during your work changing the case (and you definitely should), then put your phone to charge in wall plug for at least 15 minutes (or even more) and then try to turn it on...

I've tried and after 5 min. the phone start itself and starts the loop.
I've installed older version of FlashTool and read this line:

I'm trying again...

After flashing I'm facing the problem. Now, the phone just shows the lights on the screen, no SE logo...
The flashing finishes perfectly with no errors and the phone is connecting again in flash mode with the green LED in the upper part. But, when I try to turn on the phone, just the blank screen is lighted, no logo...
Is my phone dead?
I think so
Sorry I can't help you.
Edit. Have you tried another firmware/re download the file? Just in case. Good luck bro.

Yes I tried. Do you have any working firmware (tried)?
In the service center, the guy told me something about wiring the phone under the battery. That was the last hope for the phone...

What is your exact model? Because you stated you were running Gingerbread 2.3.3 on it... Was that the original firmware it came with? I think you need to be in this forum, for the 'big' X10, and not the X10 Mini (e10i).

hm.. but update service will give him .62 not .42, right? or are you thinking on making prerooted image? hm now i got idea
@ prazadx: are you willing to do clean flash with pc companion or sony update service, then we'll instruct you how to make .62 .ftf, but it will be around 150MB after you zip it, wich you would need to upload..
then if your phone is sim-lock free your fastboot should be open, and it should accept prerooted .img.
even if your bootloader is locked i think it only matter for kernels.
Someone correct me if I'm wrong
its here mate
Just flash this with flashtool (extract using winzip or eqivalent first to get the ftf), root using flashtool, update OTR, install cmw and you are fine.

I'm gonna perform this flashing with flashtool. all i need is to downgrade my current firmware to .42, so that i can root my device. also this is a sim lock free device with a locked bootloader.
is there any other way to root without downgrading??
also, thanks mate..
There are another way to root but you need to unlock your bootloader, sorry I cant put links, but if you search right here in this Forum "unlock bootloader" you would see the options to do that.
Definitly this way is the only you have without unlockink bl. Thats all the peoplo say because I cant flash .42 on mine....flashtool stop always before 100% I will format pc...i dont know what other thing can be.
Any suggestion??

To use flashtool, first download the firmware you want, then check usb debugging in your cellphone (settings/development options). Now turn off the cellphone, then open flashtool.exe, put flash and select the firmware you want to flash (with termination ftf) now there will be an advice in the computer screen sayin to conect the phone, conect it by pressing the volume down button until a green light is showed at the notification light part in the cellphone then flashtool will begin to flash the phone and wait it to finish the process. That all I hope it help you, sorry fot my bad english.
