Okay. So I wanted to change up the build.prop settings with a root explorer, and I know how to get there and everything. I actually have it open right now. I'm just confused as to what to change what to.. Any help would be appreciated.
Should probably include this.

I may not be experienced with build.prop, but I would think you'd need to indicate what it is that you're trying to achieve...
I'm sorry. Trying to bypass the whole "Your device isn't compatible with this version" thing on the Play Store.

I was having problems joining threads while logged in. The app would force close. Did a little searching and read that installing Tapatalk Pro would fix the issue and it did for me.
Only problem Tapatalk I believe is $3.99, so I won't tell you where I got mine since I paid for XDA Premium and they didn't mention any required apps for it to work.

This is interesting, because i use the XDA premium app and have for quite some time without any issues such as what your stating.
No requirements on my end for running it anyway.
Sorry if I forgot to mention that I am running CM7 with the latest nightly 41. I've been having these problems since I bought the app about two months ago. I installed the Droid forums app and it work perfectly. The only difference I notice was a loginmod.XML file in the Res/layout folder that was lacking on the XDA APP.

That's interesting because my experience was just the opposite. The XDA app was full of FC's on Eclair and Froyo if you tried to search, log-in, or do just about anything other than browse. (This is a known issue and has been for some time, affecting XDA free and Pro.) However, upon installing CM7 nightly 41 it has worked perfectly.
TapaTalk Pro is not a prerequisite for the XDA app, so if you downloaded TapaTalk from a warez site you stole it. Plain and simple. If I were you, I'd uninstall TapaTalk and ask for help with the XDA app or I'd go purchase TapaTalk. Which would you rather sacrifice: the time it takes to troubleshoot or a few dollars?

Same problem for me: I have XDA App free and when I try to go to settings it FCs; same when I choose exit from extended menu...
I've never experienced problems on Nexus One with this app...
Does the latest version available from the market work for anyone else? I updated to the latest version and installed the latest dev version of CM7 and now it seems to work fine

I downloaded the latest version and get FCs every time I try to log in or go to settings. I guess I will try to reinstall to see if that changes anything. I'm using the free version and no where does it say you need to the paid taptalk. grrrrrrrrr
The FCs are because the NOOK doesn't have an IMEA (ie. Not a phone) and the free XDA App checks for one. You can either use the paid XDA App or install a modified framework.jar which spoofs an IMEA (which shouldn't be an issue since the NOOK doesn't have a cell radio). Swype beta also requires an IMEA, there is a thread khaled "just works" for Swype that tells how to modify r framework.jar.

You need to use a file manager with root access such as Root Explorer.
I got all that, double checking your suggestion from the other thread. Let you know if it works!

I paid for both XDA Developer Pro and Tapatalk - and I still get FCs just like the ones that others are describing. My NC is running Cyanogen Mod 7.0.0-RC4.
Exactly as the title says, how do you spoof the phone model to be able to make the market think its a different phone so I can download, well, not suck ass apps. >.<

Market Enabler. Thank me later
https://market.android.com/details?id=ch.racic.android.marketenabler
What file does the market read to let it know what apps you can have?
I changed my build prop to read 3.2.0.0 but that still did not unlock the apps.
The app I am looking for is Google body that's only available on 3.0+.

Did anyone know the answer to my question?

I don't know, but did you try Googleing the apk?
It reads build.prop. But I think it may go by the GRI40 line, but I don't know what that should be for honeycomb

There used to be an app called market enabler which would allow you to spoof the market on your phone to think it was on another carrier so you could download apps that were only available to verizon or att customers. Maybe this app will work for you. Do a search.
It keeps telling me that it's incompatible on my device. On stock Rom with root and busy box.
Anyone know how to get around this?
Thanks

You need to use Google. Normally you just need the .apk and SD data.
the errantzebra legacy
Thanks no matter what I search I get incompatibility issues

No... Its definitely possible but not only do u need the keyboard..you also need to do some smali edits in the framework2.jar..
Edit: you could download mean bean and pull his keyboard.. Then I can tell u where and what smali you need to look at in framework2.. If you are familiar with decompiling apks/jars

No im not familiar but im an extremely quick learner. Do I need to download any specific software or apps? Is possible to do it all on my phone? Ive found a decompiler app but couldn't recompile it. I would love to learn how to do it all so I could eventually build my own rom or help a dev but get lost when I start googling info

Yes its definitely easy to get lost..my suggestion to you is focus on one thing at a time..so you want to learn how to decompile apps..and jars.. Search that on this forum and you'll find countless guides..pick one read it..then move on to actually doing it. Then once you got that down move on to what u want to learn next..
