I have spent days looking for threads so this neewb is about to break something. Well maybe not. I have my daughters Eris 2.1 and am trying to root it for her. I have tried several times with different methods. The issue is that I can get into recovery mode after every 1 click app but nothing I try will let me toggle to unzip to SD, or toggle to anything for that matter, volume wont do it and all track ball will do is let me select reboot. Man my DX was easy compared to the one click method.
HELP PLEASE,
If the trackball is having trouble scrolling, I'd install the trackball-optional custom recovery so you can use other buttons to scroll. There are instructions for doing this here:
http://androidforums.com/eris-all-things-root/214240-amon_ra-1-6-2-custom-recovery-trackball-not-required.html
It sounds like you fall into "Scenario 2" which says you should follow the same method as "Scenario 1" to get rooted using the trackball-optional recovery.
I'll give it a shot, The help is much appreciated,
I am been trying to help him to get this thing to add the Custom Recovery, but every root format has not worked at all. Most are outdated or there are files missing. Specially on the link provided above. The download for the scripts no longer has Root_1 or Root_2, it has a bunch of other stuff there for gscript. Found an link on Droidforums for gscript for rooting and the scripts don't work.
Any complete instructions anywhere?

popfan,
I am not aware that any of the above links or files are missing... Can you point-out / tell me specifically which files you cannot access / download / link-to?
The root_part1 and root_part2 files are part of erisuser1's (bftb0's) Universal Root for Dummies! thread that I do reference in my AF thread, but these should still be up, active, and available.
So, I'm not sure if you are speaking about becoming rooted or installing a my trackball-optional custom recovery.
Let us know.
Cheers!
Im sure my kid has shuned me for leaving her Eris with someone so thanks to everyone for the help. Pop is helping me out and after moving file at the point where it says to open and look to see root 1 and root2 they are not there and there are a ton of other stuff. Also the pick look different than on the thread like the app has been updated. Also when doing the ball recovery there is no tools folder to be found. I'm sure pop wont touch it again till tomorrow so any other help / advice is more than welcome or it may cost me my Dx

LOL, sorry, didn't make/see the connection between your two posts .
Okay, let's try something new here...
Just a week or so ago, I re-packed jcase's 1-click rooting app to include my trackball-optional recovery image in lieu of the original recovery that his app includes.
So, let's have you re-root using the new 1-click app (all credit to jcase, both for his app and his threads both here http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=742228 and over at AF http://androidforums.com/eris-all-things-root/139178-universal-1-click-eris-app-apk-no-pcs-no-scripts-needed-easy.html).
Since you've already used the 1-click app before, then all you'll have to do is grab my new "trackball-optional" version:
https://sites.google.com/site/scaryalienware/downloads/one-click-tbo.apk
MD5 sum: 15763b51cf707c027cc73bc117e1fc39
(the "tbo" in the name stands for "trackball optional" ).
Just follow the same process you did before while running the 1-click app and you should end-up with my trackball-optional recovery installed.
Let me know how it goes (you'll be the first besides me that I know of that has tried it; the user that I created it for to test has not yet responded, LOL).
Cheers!
I tried this link below. It no longer has the root_1 and root_2 in it.
http://www.megaupload.com/?d=774XYFRA
I did use your "updated" 1-click app with tbo and it worked great.
Thanks!!
Too bad this phone was not as easy as my captivate.

Glad that jcase's repackaged app worked for you. I'll update my documentation to make this available to others.
Also, re. the above Megaupload link...it works just fine for me (from my PC and from my Droid X) and includes all of the aforementioned root_part1/2 files.
I think you've fallen prey to a truncated download, which is not uncommon with Megaupload in my experience. This is also why is important to double-check the file sizes and MD5 checksums of files that you download so that you know you got the whole-shebang; notice that erisuser1 did include the MD5 in his thread for this file:
- Download gscript.zip (MD5 92796a8c6e61e8f1ee36e315c0acae7d)
I've often found it helpful to use a different browser other than the stock browser (like Opera Mini) when doing downloads via my Eris since the stock browser does seem to have more issues (timeouts perhaps) than it should.
Cheers!
Thanks to all this tuff till you hooked us up but now on to nightmare 2
I downloaded CyanogenMod7.1.0 RC1 [2.3.5 GingerBread NIGHTLY]
from this thread http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=944430&highlight=ROM
Got it up but it has no market so I can not get to titanium, boot loader or anything... It says to flash google apps after the rom but now Im back to the trackball / volume key issue because it's all in titanium. ??? I did a factory reset and it came back up as the new ROM, ???
EDIT UPDATE!!!!
Sorry for the hassle all, the "green" start call button works as the down after the download.. All is well.. I think..
Again thanks to you all, If I hear of any good deals on an Eris I will know why.
You need to download GAPPS to your sdcard. That is why you don't have market.
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=944430&highlight=ROM
Its just below link for the rom and save it to your sdcard. Go ahead boot into recovery and wipe data, daliv-cache, cache; Flash Rom again, then flash gapps and reboot.
I'm a complete noob and I've searched the forums and can't find an answer to my questions. (I'm sure there's some answer in Japanese on a Japanese forum somewhere, but my Japanese is not up to that level.)
I have a Toshiba Regza IS04 from AU (in Japan).
Running Android 2.2.2
Baseband Version 5014.1907.39
Kernel Version 2.6.32.9-rel [email protected] #1
Build Number FFK300
I have been researching rooting on and off for months since I first got the phone and have decided I would like to root it. My reasons for rooting:
1. I want to get rid of all the apps that were pre-installed that I don't use.
2. I would like to have the latest version of Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich. (I doubt that another authorized upgrade from au is ever going to happen, since the 2.1 to 2.2 upgrade.)
It seems from reading forums that there are special builds of an OS depending on the phone?
My questions:
1. What is the best way to backup my phone before rooting?
2. What would be the best rooting method for my phone (SuperOneClick?)?
3. How can I (or even can I) upgrade my Android to 4.0?
Thanks for any help!!
Sam
To answer my own question, in case any one else wants to know:
Okay... it looks like I cannot post external links... until I post 8 times, which I don't really predict doing... so I'm going to try just removing the http at the beginning and see if it will go.
Superoneclick v2.2 does NOT work with this phone. It gets through "Rooting device... Step #7" but cannot remount.
Unrevoked does not work.
Z4root also does not work.
But I found a Japanese site with directions that did work! YES!!
hibari.2ch.net/test/read.cgi/smartphone/1320415141/
Somewhere in the page was the following information and link:
■auto_rootkit_is04_v0.5+suhax
hotfile.com/dl/134084004/f59084e/auto_rootkit_is04_v0.5suhax.zip.html
I downloaded the zip file and extracted it. I clicked on adb.exe first and then clicked on the auto_rootkit_is04 batch file. I just hit enter after each step. (It's in Japanese, but all it says is each step it is doing and then to hit any key.)
The first time I ran it, it did not work. The second time, I turned my phone off and on again before trying anything, and bingo: I had root!
Some of the Japanese threads were saying something about the problem with superoneclick was that the is04 took too long to mount and so there was an error. At least, I think that's what it said. My Japanese is okay, but not always good enough for this type of stuff.
I hope this can help someone else.
Thank you so much for this response!
I have the same phone, and I've been wanting to root it for a long time. There were so many pre-installed applications that are just hogging room, especially since I can't read Japanese well enough (yet).
-T
I hope it works for you too!
I spent probably the equivalent of 2-3 days searching over the last few weeks, but couldn't find anything that I was comfortable with trying.
This morning, I finally got the nerve up to try superoneclick and was really disappointed when it wouldn't work. Then I started trying all kinds of methods, and about 8 hours later finally came across the method that worked!
It's probably the only thing frustrating sometimes about having a Japanese phone: lack of English support!
Now I'm just hoping I don't break it! I'm backing up all the apps with Titanium backup before I start deleting them one by one. I would hate to delete something that is crucial to the system and not be able to restore it. I'm also looking into other ways to backup the system.
One word of warning. Your au one market will not work unless you do one more step. It's mentioned in English in the readme file. I didn't bother because I never download from it anyway. (Although, I probably should just so I'll keep getting updates on some of the J apps that I do have.)

hi!
I am a newbie here and like you all, I would also like to root my regza phone. Can someone give a working auto_rootkit because the link above is not working. I have searched it as well on the net but still all will lead me to dead hotfile link. Or someone could send me the file instead to my yahoo mail [email protected] tnx in advance
And also i have downloaded this rootkit instead from IS04 and downloaded. After dowloading, I click the adb file and it appears a command screen with commands running so fast. Next i did click the root file and there appeared a command screen with all sorts of command running so fast. My question is, i did not received any confirmation that the rooting process was succesfull. And also i have read to other forums that one thing you will notice that rooting was successfull is that 'superuser" will be automatically installed.
Please help me on this one. To be honest I started exploring this process since i have this phone and there are apps that i wanted to uninstall not unless i root the phone.
Thank you in advance

Hi
I have this phone too. And I try to get root, you can send for me the link of you downloaded and explain for me how you made it.
Other question, I can use this phone to call in brasil?
Thank you.
:good:
My phone just had this phone and I'm trying to update it before rooting. It came with 2.1-update 1 OS version and I'm trying to update the phone to it's latest official 2.2.2.
I've downloaded the necessary 256mb file update but it didn't work. Even tried using the recovery but is still not working.
Based on my research about this phone, There's no way to update without the phone downloading the app from the official website, using the SIM and au logins.
We've lost the sim (UIM) card that came with the phone. So I guess its stuck on its current OS. I'm having trouble installing apks (Gingerbreak and even normal apps) as it always gives me the error "parsing error" or something.
Is there anyone could help?
EDIT:
I have successfully updated the phone from Android 2.1-update1 to Android 2.2.2.
Download all the necessary files here:
http://www.fmworld.net/product/phone/is04/
I have used the method of updating from the least upgrade and up to the latest. I have managed to download 3 separate files for the upgrade, namely:
IS04_RC2_RC3RE_DL.zip
IS04_RC_4.zip
IS04_TO_SP_FYRC_4.zip <- froyo update
I have extracted all the files on the sd card. make sure that the ".enc" file is found on the root of the SD Card and on the "prg" folder.
I have updated it using the recovery mode (power + volume up + camera button).
I am now currently trying to Root the device using Gingerbreak and seems that it's taking too long to root.
Also. I have able to root the 2.1-update OS using z4root.

Thx so much for your posts.
I am so glad to finally find someone with the same phone, the same problem and intentions
I do, however, need more info:
Did you extract the files into any particular folder? You obviously hooked up in de-bug mode, but did you command prompt anything?
I tried your steps but get nothing to 'hit enter' on. I have also tried the other (different version) toolkit.
You can IM me or email or post or come around and root my phone yourself - I will sell you my car, house, wife...
... as you can tell I am a little frustrated ...
lets just IM/email for now
Thx in advance,
Kaz

MOD EDIT : As requested by OP, I'm closing this thread.
Everyone can continue the rooting related discussions on the other thread linked here. Full root for Nook Tablet. [11/20/11] [Yes this is a permanent root!].
All,
Here is a "one click" script to root your Nook Tablet AND install gapps (Market) all in one shot. It also includes the latest superuser binary and apk (automatically installed). MAD PROPS to Indirect for being the first to get root on the NT. This script builds off of his (and others) work to make it a bit easier.
I need people to test this. That being said, RUN THIS AT YOUR OWN RISK. It may work perfectly, or it may explode your Nook. You've been warned!
1. Download and extract the zip file located at https://rapidshare.com/files/3156164791/NT-One-Click-Root-by-anlog.zip (PLEASE MIRROR THE FILE FOR ME SO YOU DON'T KILL MY DROPBOX ACCOUNT).
2. Factory reset your Nook Tablet (just do it).
3. Run Windows 7 (32-bit or 64-bit). Sorry Mac and Linux, but that's not my arena.
4. Enable USB debugging and sideloading on your Nook (download an APK and try to install it with package manager. Hit settings and set the options). YOU MUST uncheck "auto mount USB" or debugging won't activate. There are also two checkboxes for debugging and staying awake - make sure both are set. DO NOT REBOOT your Nook once you enable these settings.
5. Plug in your Nook and point Windows to search for the drivers in the usb_drivers directory from the etracted file. The driver has been modified to work with the Nook Tablet and you don't need to mess with any adb.ini stuff. It's ready to go.
6. Once the driver loads, make sure you have a device called "ADB Composite Device" (or something similar) in Device Manager. As long as you don't have an item called "Nook Tablet" with an exclamation point, you're good. Once you are plugged in, check the status bar on your Nook and make sure USB debugging is enabled (there will be a little robot indicator).
7. This step is optional, since it is run at the beginning of the script, but you can open a command prompt AS ADMINISTRATOR and go to the folder where you extracted your files and run "adb devices". It should list your Nook serial number. If it doesn't, start over.
8. Run a command prompt as Administrator and then run the NookTabRoot.bat file to root your tablet and install gapps. Your tablet will automatically restart once the script finishes.
This script is ALPHA and probably won't work, but that's why I need people to test. If anyone finds a way to make it better, please feel free to modify it (as long as you credit me and Indirect).
Good luck!

anlog, can you please remove the rooting script from yours as it will make it harder for me to provide support if they are in your thread as well. Im happy the gapps is there but I really don't want aanyone to be missed when they need help.
Note: Seriously not trying to be a **** but this is the early stages of rooting and I would HATE for someones system to be completely screwed and I don't know they need help.
P.S.: Just link to the original root thread saying you must have rooted before you proceed with this script.
After that, I'll happily help you work on this script and offer support for this as well.

Your root method is not easy enough for the average user, which is why I've posted this.
I'm not removing anything. It's up to the community to decide if they want to try my script or not. I will host it and setup my own mirrors if I have to.

Sorry to see you cave in so easily...
I'm not being disrespectful but my script really isn't too complicated. I was working on rewriting the thread anyway I just haven't gotten the time yet until now. I've been out all day.
This early in the process, it is great having multiple ways to achieve root.
Can't you each add a disclaimer in your package "If you use this method to root, don't use any other method without doing a full factory reset first" or whatever words would be appropriate?
Mostly - don't get ticked at each other.
It's not a multiple way, it's verbatim my script with his added to it.
This is not a glory or recognition thing. This is something that I think will greatly help the community of average users with little to no experience with things like ADB or Unix commands.
Many every day users are discovering XDA and it can be very difficult for them to navigate through the forums and find what they are looking for. My goal is to make it really easy.
The script will not blow up your Nook. The worst thing that can happen is that it just doesn't work.
Not sure what else to say, but this "only one user is allowed to help people root" nonsense doesn't work for me, nor the rest of the community. Sorry Indirect. If it helps, I've credited you at the beginning of my script.
OK - then I would say don't include an early version of a root script except by reference... Let the original author handle the bugs and enhancements.
I dont see a problem with useing each others method as long as the appropriate credit is given when you use someone else's work in your own.

You mean your script with a bunch of STANDARD adb commands in it? Not exactly rocket science. Did you write zergrush? No, but you used it (and credited them accordingly).
"Your script" <-- I atleast want people to ask permission before blindly taking my work in the first place. I didn't say this is released under public domain for anyone to use, I would like you to ask before. Use it, whatever but seriously, It kind of upsets me that you didn't bother checking with me if it was alright to atleast use my script. If anyone wants support, come to this thread if you use it. I am not able to help you as I did not develop the addition to this.

YOUR SCRIPT IS A BUNCH OF STANDARD ADB COMMANDS. That means that 100% of all other ADB scripts out there use elements from the script you pieced together from other scripts.
Get over it. You obivously only care about recognition. My only goal is to help other people.
anlog, you have clearly not seen any of my other work. I'm not in it for recognition, I need to know if something goes wrong at all and if so, what caused it. That's it.

Enjoy this script anlog, I appreciate your help finding the driver fix and be sure to reference me in your thread as well for proper credits. Enjoy your evening, I'm no longer debating about this as it's stupid. I think we can both agree on that.

okay, so not to get in the middle of anything, I will say I've successfully rooted my nook tablet with the original method. didn't have any luck installing the android market (and getting it running).
as such, I've done a factory restore and have downloaded the script here.
as someone who is fairly computer literate, but is VERY new to rooting (short of 1 click root), I will take the shortest path possible. no loss of credit to indirect. please guys, all your work is recognized.
will report back shortly.

Enjoy this script anlog, I appreciate your help finding the driver fix and be sure to reference me in your thread as well for proper credits. Enjoy your evening, I'm no longer debating about this as it's stupid. I think we can both agree on that.

Dude we need people like you to build off other's work. We both agree that if there is a super easy way to root and get Market, more people will buy the NT. From the second I started this thread you were credited in the first line of my script. I will also credit you in the beginning of this thread. I am NOT about stealing other people's work. Your work here is GREATLY appreciated!

Sorry for getting annoyed and worked up but I already had to play "Dueling Batch Scripts" in the evo shift section when mine was CLEARLY superior to the other ones by far because I was still developing it. :| So again, my apologies for losing my head but don't wait too long for my REAL script to be thrown together sometime tonight and blow yours out of the water.
Hi all,
First off, just want to say thanks to all of the hardworking devs out there that put a lot of time and effort into these projects. You guys are really awesome!
Secondly, I tried to post this as a reply in the developer's forum, but didn't have enough posts to qualify.
That all being said, I followed all of the instructions in Indirect's post here, but can't get the Nook Tablet to bring up recovery mode when I reboot. It just continues to load the standard B&N image. I even tried a factory reset to see if that would work, but same problem. I verified that the files on the micro-SD card match those as shown in Albert's excellent video here. The device is still running 1.4.0.
Any assistance is greatly appreciated!
No luck here either...I tried the root while watching Albert's You Tube video at the same time. I think the significant thing is that my screen displays something like:
Extracting files to SYSTEM...
Setting SYSTEM:bin/su permissions to 06755...
Creating SYSTEM:xbin/su symbolic link...
Installation Complete!
Install from sdcard complete.
Whereas the screen in the video shows:
Extracting files to SYSTEM...
Setting SYSTEM:bin/su permissions to 06755...
Creating SYSTEM:xbin/su symbolic link...
Installing GApps 29110878
For Android 2.3.5 Customized for the nook tablet
Mounting data...
Extracting files to data...
Unmounting data...
Install complete. Enjoy!
Installation Complete!
So clearly my install seems to silently abort somewhere in the middle...
Any insight or advice would be appreciated!

Beatbox,
Just re-reading your post I think I got farther than you, but also got stuck on your issue earlier. If you keep the Nook plugged into the PC via the USB cable during the power on, the Nook will boot into the recovery mode - that at least was what got me past your issue.
It's not about Rooting OR recovery. It's about the fact that this method is still being worked on. Indirect has been making modifications to the various files and it is my opinion that the file used in Albert's video is NOT the same file that would be downloaded if you went and obtained it right now.
I would wait this out until Indirect writes an updated post explaining that the method is finalized.
If this is not an option the original root method works perfectly.
Land - when you say "original root method" are you talking about something that predates Albert's solution?

If you are running 1.4.1 you will need to downgrade first.

Cool jearley9, this did indeed work for me and I was able to load the image. Problem now is that I always end up at the normal B&N Setup screen. Were you able to get past that part?
And thanks to all the other thread participants. I know it takes time to work these things out, so no biggie. We all get a little too excited and impatient with things like these sometimes.
Thanks - looking it over now...

Beat,
Does your screen match my screen or the one in Albert's video? If it matches then you and I have the same problem. If not then you have something different going on...

Definitely matches yours. Just didn't know if you got further than I did after rebooting.

Just wanted to provide an update. I attempted the instructions from the original rooting thread (my nook tablet doesn't have 1.4.1 yet, so didn't need to downgrade). When I ran the batch file to root, it detected that the device was already rooted - which I quote from the script, "Is bothersome."
Okay, so i think my device is half-rooted somehow. Just can't get the new home screen that I'm seeing on all the videos. I'll keep you guys updated with my further troubleshooting attempts.
Beat, you and I are at least synchronized - I too tried the original root method, and I had the same exact problem as you describe... a message saying "already rooted". I did a system reset right before I tried the root, so I don't see how it could be "already rooted".
I just purchased my Nook yesterday. I am wondering if there are newer units (mine included) that are more resistant to being rooted?
I'm having the same issue, but I can use the search function to determine that apps WERE installed (and will execute properly). I believe that Indirect has removed ADW launcher and Homecatcher from the zip we're suppossed to drop onto the SD Card. My guess is that we're waiting for him to come up with a solution to the "Market not showing up in launcher" issue.
Can someone confirm this?
Well any other tactics I've tried have been to no avail, so I'll just be patient and wait for Indirect to address it. I'm sure he has enough on his plate without us bugging him.
Many thanks to him again for even working on something like this.
Edit:
Okay, for some reason I missed Albert Wertz's helpful Youtube comment:
Please Vote this comment up so everyone else can read it among all the others. Indirect is making some changes to the script, if you dont get adw to launch right after the first reboot from root, you may have to download it manually from the market. You can use the N button menu search function to pull up market by typing M in the search. You can launcher it from here. Until the bugs are worked out, you may only be able to install from market, sideloading may still be an issue. Indirect is fixin

I did this and have no problem bringing up the Android Market now. Just installed an app successfully. Not sure where it lives though. I could only seem to launch it from the Recently Downloaded icon at the bottom bar.
Edit 2:
Okay, just restarted after installing the ADW and now it prompted me to start with it. Only issue I have now is if I hit the N button, it reverts back to the original Barnes & Noble homescreen and I have to reboot to launch ADW again.
I got pretty much to the same place - I downloaded HomeCatcher but that seems to be non-functional - Looks like the Nook home screen is winning this round...

To truly "reset" the system run the downgrade I linked previously EVEN IF you are on 1.4.0. After that it will be just like you took the NT out of the box. Then run the Indirect Root Batch and the "you are already rooted" should be gone. I would hope so anyway
Land,
I did the press and hold 9 times and got back to factory state.
Also, I tried Brianf21's files and I got the same problem as you. If I try to open Update.Zip from Windows it gives me "Please insert last disk of a multi-volume set...". I would guess that the zip file is malformed or incomplete, but that's just a guess...

I copied this post to the Development Thread in my recent reply to Brianf21. It is conceivable at this point that you and I are the only ones that have tried this. lol
Please put information regarding future attempts in that thread to help him troubleshoot.
Glad to see that you were able to reset. I don't believe it will be necessary again if Brian fixes the issue. To my knowledge simply entering CWM using his image had NO affect on my NT.
Land,
Sorry I can't comply with your request - the forum software won't let me post in the development area due to my "newness" - I am 53 years old and have 30 years of software/firmware development experience, but to this forum I am a "newbie"

Alrighty then.... I don't know if I should laugh or cry. You can't even "post" in the Dev section? I wonder how many posts you need. Seems a little extreme to me but you will get there soon enough I guess.
In the meantime I'll make sure that your comments are known. Thanks!
There's a guide thread now in Guide section, use that one pls as this one isn't detailed enough and the other one has some more instructions, e.g. for backing up the files and partitions we work with!
thanks to user @Krekos/CZ/ these files are available for everyone now find them in his post here (or attached on this post) and give him a thx pls :highfive: :cyclops:
original OP text:
Im on testing sessions regarding volte and at least got that far, that the IMS server in hidden menu can be configured (wasn't accessible before my edits). but I'm stuck for now: I by accident deleted following folder which contains the modem config files for different operators. Looks like they are on the EFS partition, as a kdz and standalone-modem reflash didn't help, unfortunately:
Code:
/firmware/image/modem_pr/mcfg/configs
pls, can someone with a true H930 rooted EU OPEN phone (I've bought mine via telefonica O2 Germany) help me and zip and upload this special folder for me? would be appreciated very very much!! I don't want to find out what happens when I reboot my phone now xD maybe unfixable bootloop...
noone...? come on, this is a 3-5 minutes job deleting takes only 2 secs as i know now... but w/o these files no modem config is possible, phone could be useless on next reboot. so, pls pls...
btw: no personal data stored in these directories. there are only config files for different operators inside, nothing else. mcfg_sw.mbn files, you can google for their function and have a look at them on your phone. easiest way for zipping them would be "root explorer", it offers this function, and tar compressing too. hm, when i think about it, tar would be better format

I would be glad to help but I don't have H930...
hmm, which one do you own then...? maybe worth a try to have a look at the files from a different phone as long as it's native open and an EU one. and: I've seen you're a really helpful person, a superb contributor, one of the best in v30 forums thx for that!
H930 here, but it's not rooted.
grmpf, there's no way then to access these files, unfortunately but thx anyway

wonderful!! if we get this working you're my hero
in twrp there's no way to get them, this has to be done in fully booted android system. you have got terminal emulator app installed? the command would be
Code:
tar -czf /sdcard/modem.tar.gz /firmware/image/modem_pr/mcfg/configs
the resulting file can be found in root dir of sdcard then. maybe it's small enough so you can attach it on your answering post, otherwise maybe using google drive or androidfilehost is needed.
double post, sry...
It's strange but i cannot compress these files. It always tell me, i dont have privilegies for that. I try severel Emulators. I also try TotalCommander App with root privilegies, and copy the files manually, but i ended with error aswell.
ouch... did you type "su" to give the terminal emulator root privileges before trying?
I got it! I finally found emulator which compress the files. i dont know why previous apps didnt work but w/e.
Here it is: https://goo.gl/Qk293b
yay!!!!! it worked, the files are back! THANK YOU VERY VERY MUCH!!! you saved my h930 thanks again! :good::highfive::victory:
hmm, is it okay for you when i attach this zip on the first post with big fat credits to you? maybe someone else needs these mbn files for his SD835 device at some time?
I have no problem with it. you can attach it.
thx, again
...aaaand: volte (and vowifi; don't know for sure about viwifi and vt/vilte. sms over wifi/volte needs to be tested too) is up and running! LoL... o2 wasn't able to help me in four service hotline sessions and two visits in their store. really funny as they told me every time "absolutely no way, sry. we can't do this (send some infos or activate volte in account [was already activated, it worked all the time with my s7flat]), we can't do that (flash something to get this working) and so on. k, this took me an serious amount of time my kids and wife weren't really happy and proud of, but hey, there are priorities, or not? hrhr...
is there a need for a guide for everyone? maybe I get a guide up and running. problem for now is, I don't know for sure which edits are really needed and essential. this will be a guide we need to work out all together to finally see which steps are necessary for a newbie and starter. let's see, would take some time but should be possible. when five ppls in this thread are telling "yes we want this guide, let's do this together!" then I'll do it
would've not been possible w/o the help from @Krekos/CZ/ I'm really happy he helped out! :good:
I would like to try this feature and you're welcome.
Nice one. So vollte will be available for every gsm operator on stock rooted rom?
